Prima lettera ai Corinzi - 1 Corinthians 16

LXX	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Περὶ δὲ τῆς λογείας τῆς εἰς τοὺς ἁγίους ὥσπερ διέταξα ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Γαλατίας, οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιήσατε.	1 Now about the collection for God's holy people; you are to do the same as I prescribed for thechurches in Galatia.
2 κατὰ μίαν σαββάτου ἕκαστος ὑμῶν παρ’ ἑαυτῷ τιθέτω θησαυρίζων ὅ τι ἐὰν εὐοδῶται, ἵνα μὴ ὅταν ἔλθω τότε λογεῖαι γίνωνται.	2 On the first day of the week, each of you should put aside and reserve as much as each can spare; donot delay the col ection til I arrive.
3 ὅταν δὲ παραγένωμαι, οὓς ἐὰν δοκιμάσητε, δι’ ἐπιστολῶν τούτους πέμψω ἀπενεγκεῖν τὴν χάριν ὑμῶν εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ·	3 When I come, I wil send to Jerusalem with letters of introduction those people you approve to deliveryour gift;
4 ἐὰν δὲ ἄξιον ᾖ τοῦ κἀμὲ πορεύεσθαι, σὺν ἐμοὶ πορεύσονται.	4 if it is worth my going too, they can travel with me.
5 Ἐλεύσομαι δὲ πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὅταν Μακεδονίαν διέλθω· Μακεδονίαν γὰρ διέρχομαι,	5 In any case, I shal be coming to you after I have passed through Macedonia, as I have to go throughMacedonia;
6 πρὸς ὑμᾶς δὲ τυχὸν παραμενῶ ἢ καὶ παραχειμάσω, ἵνα ὑμεῖς με προπέμψητε οὗ ἐὰν πορεύωμαι.	6 and I may be staying some time with you, perhaps wintering, so that you can start me on my nextjourney, wherever I may be going.
7 οὐ θέλω γὰρ ὑμᾶς ἄρτι ἐν παρόδῳ ἰδεῖν, ἐλπίζω γὰρ χρόνον τινὰ ἐπιμεῖναι πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐὰν ὁ κύριος ἐπιτρέψῃ.	7 I do not want to make only a passing visit to you, and I am hoping to spend quite a time with you, theLord permitting.
8 ἐπιμενῶ δὲ ἐν Ἐφέσῳ ἕως τῆς πεντηκοστῆς·	8 But I shal remain at Ephesus until Pentecost,
9 θύρα γάρ μοι ἀνέῳγεν μεγάλη καὶ ἐνεργής, καὶ ἀντικείμενοι πολλοί.	9 for a very promising door is standing wide open to me and there are many against us.
10 Ἐὰν δὲ ἔλθῃ Τιμόθεος, βλέπετε, ἵνα ἀφόβως γένηται πρὸς ὑμᾶς· τὸ γὰρ ἔργον κυρίου ἐργάζεται ὡς κἀγώ·	10 If Timothy comes, make sure that he has nothing to fear from you; he is doing the Lord's work, justas I am,
11 μή τις οὖν αὐτὸν ἐξουθενήσῃ. προπέμψατε δὲ αὐτὸν ἐν εἰρήνῃ, ἵνα ἔλθῃ πρός με· ἐκδέχομαι γὰρ αὐτὸν μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν.	11 and nobody is to underrate him. Start him off in peace on his journey to come on to me: the brothersand I are waiting for him.
12 Περὶ δὲ Ἀπολλῶ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ, πολλὰ παρεκάλεσα αὐτόν, ἵνα ἔλθῃ πρὸς ὑμᾶς μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν· καὶ πάντως οὐκ ἦν θέλημα ἵνα νῦν ἔλθῃ· ἐλεύσεται δὲ ὅταν εὐκαιρήσῃ.	12 As for our brother Apollos, I urged him earnestly to come to you with the brothers, but he was quitefirm that he did not want to go yet, and he wil come when he finds an opportunity.
13 Γρηγορεῖτε, στήκετε ἐν τῇ πίστει, ἀνδρίζεσθε, κραταιοῦσθε.	13 Be vigilant, stay firm in the faith, be brave and strong.
14 πάντα ὑμῶν ἐν ἀγάπῃ γινέσθω.	14 Let everything you do be done in love.
15 Παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί· οἴδατε τὴν οἰκίαν Στεφανᾶ, ὅτι ἐστὶν ἀπαρχὴ τῆς Ἀχαΐας καὶ εἰς διακονίαν τοῖς ἁγίοις ἔταξαν ἑαυτούς·	15 There is something else I must urge you to do, brothers. You know how Stephanas' family have beenthe first-fruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to the service of God's holy people;
16 ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς ὑποτάσσησθε τοῖς τοιούτοις καὶ παντὶ τῷ συνεργοῦντι καὶ κοπιῶντι.	16 I ask you in turn to put yourselves at the service of people like this and all that work with them in thisarduous task.
17 χαίρω δὲ ἐπὶ τῇ παρουσίᾳ Στεφανᾶ καὶ Φορτουνάτου καὶ Ἀχαϊκοῦ, ὅτι τὸ ὑμέτερον ὑστέρημα οὗτοι ἀνεπλήρωσαν·	17 I am delighted that Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived; they have made up foryour not being here.
18 ἀνέπαυσαν γὰρ τὸ ἐμὸν πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὑμῶν. ἐπιγινώσκετε οὖν τοὺς τοιούτους.	18 They have set my mind at rest, just as they did yours; you should appreciate people like them.
19 Ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς αἱ ἐκκλησίαι τῆς Ἀσίας. ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς ἐν κυρίῳ πολλὰ Ἀκύλας καὶ Πρίσκα σὺν τῇ κατ’ οἶκον αὐτῶν ἐκκλησίᾳ.	19 The churches of Asia send their greetings. Aquila and Prisca send their best wishes in the Lord,together with the church that meets in their house.
20 ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ ἀδελφοὶ πάντες. Ἀσπάσασθε ἀλλήλους ἐν φιλήματι ἁγίῳ.	20 Al the brothers send their greetings. Greet one another with the holy kiss.
21 Ὁ ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ Παύλου.	21 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL.
22 εἴ τις οὐ φιλεῖ τὸν κύριον, ἤτω ἀνάθεμα. μαράνα θά.	22 If there is anyone who does not love the Lord, a curse on such a one. Maran atha.
23 ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ μεθ’ ὑμῶν.	23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
24 ἡ ἀγάπη μου μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ.	24 My love is with you all in Christ Jesus.
