LXX	NEW JERUSALEM
1 εις το τελος τοις αλλοιωθησομενοις ετι εις στηλογραφιαν τω δαυιδ εις διδαχην	1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'Do not destroy' Of David In a quiet voice When Saul sent men to watchDavid's house in order to have him killed] Rescue me from my enemies, my God, be my stronghold from myassailants,
2 οποτε ενεπυρισεν την μεσοποταμιαν συριας και την συριαν σωβα και επεστρεψεν ιωαβ και επαταξεν την φαραγγα των αλων δωδεκα χιλιαδας	2 rescue me from evil-doers, from men of violence save me.
3 ο θεος απωσω ημας και καθειλες ημας ωργισθης και οικτιρησας ημας	3 Look at them, lurking to ambush me, violent men are attacking me, for no fault, no sin of mine,Yahweh,
4 συνεσεισας την γην και συνεταραξας αυτην ιασαι τα συντριμματα αυτης οτι εσαλευθη	4 for no guilt, they come running to take up position. Wake up, stand by me and keep watch,
5 εδειξας τω λαω σου σκληρα εποτισας ημας οινον κατανυξεως	5 Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, God of Israel, rise up, to punish al the nations, show no mercy to all thesemalicious traitors.Pause
6 εδωκας τοις φοβουμενοις σε σημειωσιν του φυγειν απο προσωπου τοξου διαψαλμα	6 Back they come at nightfall, snarling like curs, prowling through the town.
7 οπως αν ρυσθωσιν οι αγαπητοι σου σωσον τη δεξια σου και επακουσον μου	7 Look how they rant in speech with swords on their lips, 'Who is there to hear us?'
8 ο θεος ελαλησεν εν τω αγιω αυτου αγαλλιασομαι και διαμεριω σικιμα και την κοιλαδα των σκηνων διαμετρησω	8 For your part, Yahweh, you laugh at them, you make mockery of all nations.
9 εμος εστιν γαλααδ και εμος εστιν μανασση και εφραιμ κραταιωσις της κεφαλης μου ιουδας βασιλευς μου	9 My strength, I keep my eyes fixed on you. For my stronghold is God,
10 μωαβ λεβης της ελπιδος μου επι την ιδουμαιαν εκτενω το υποδημα μου εμοι αλλοφυλοι υπεταγησαν	10 the God who loves me faithfully is coming to meet me, God will let me feast my eyes on those who liein wait for me.
11 τις απαξει με εις πολιν περιοχης τις οδηγησει με εως της ιδουμαιας	11 Do not annihilate them, or my people may forget; shake them in your power, bring them low, Lord,our shield.
12 ουχι συ ο θεος ο απωσαμενος ημας και ουκ εξελευση ο θεος εν ταις δυναμεσιν ημων	12 Sin is in their mouths, sin on their lips, so let them be trapped in their pride for the curses and lies thatthey utter.
13 δος ημιν βοηθειαν εκ θλιψεως και ματαια σωτηρια ανθρωπου	13 Destroy them in your anger, destroy them til they are no more, and let it be known that God is Masterin Jacob and the whole wide world.Pause
14 εν δε τω θεω ποιησομεν δυναμιν και αυτος εξουδενωσει τους θλιβοντας ημας	14 Back they come at nightfal , snarling like curs, prowling through the town,
	15 scavenging for something to eat, growling unless they have their fil .
	16 And so I wil sing of your strength, in the morning acclaim your faithful love; you have been astronghold for me, a refuge when I was in trouble.
	17 My strength, I wil make music for you, for my stronghold is God, the God who loves me faithful y.
