εις το τελος ψαλμος τω δαυιδ κυριε εδοκιμασας με και εγνως με | 1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David. O Lord, you have examined me, and you have known me. |
συ εγνως την καθεδραν μου και την εγερσιν μου συ συνηκας τους διαλογισμους μου απο μακροθεν | 2 You have known my sitting down and my rising up again. |
την τριβον μου και την σχοινον μου συ εξιχνιασας και πασας τας οδους μου προειδες | 3 You have understood my thoughts from afar. My path and my fate, you have investigated. |
οτι ουκ εστιν λογος εν γλωσση μου | 4 And you have foreseen all my ways. For there is no word in my tongue. |
ιδου κυριε συ εγνως παντα τα εσχατα και τα αρχαια συ επλασας με και εθηκας επ' εμε την χειρα σου | 5 Behold, O Lord, you have known all things: the newest and the very old. You have formed me, and you have placed your hand over me. |
εθαυμαστωθη η γνωσις σου εξ εμου εκραταιωθη ου μη δυνωμαι προς αυτην | 6 Your knowledge has become a wonder to me. It has been reinforced, and I am not able to prevail against it. |
που πορευθω απο του πνευματος σου και απο του προσωπου σου που φυγω | 7 Where will I go from your Spirit? And where will I flee from your face? |
εαν αναβω εις τον ουρανον συ ει εκει εαν καταβω εις τον αδην παρει | 8 If I ascend into heaven, you are there. If I descend into Hell, you are near. |
εαν αναλαβοιμι τας πτερυγας μου κατ' ορθρον και κατασκηνωσω εις τα εσχατα της θαλασσης | 9 If I assume my feathers in early morning, and dwell in the utmost parts of the sea, |
και γαρ εκει η χειρ σου οδηγησει με και καθεξει με η δεξια σου | 10 even there, your hand will lead me forth, and your right hand will hold me. |
και ειπα αρα σκοτος καταπατησει με και νυξ φωτισμος εν τη τρυφη μου | 11 And I said: Perhaps darkness will overwhelm me, and the night will be my illumination, to my delight. |
οτι σκοτος ου σκοτισθησεται απο σου και νυξ ως ημερα φωτισθησεται ως το σκοτος αυτης ουτως και το φως αυτης | 12 But darkness will not be impenetrable to you, and night will illuminate like the day: for just as its darkness is, so also is its light. |
οτι συ εκτησω τους νεφρους μου κυριε αντελαβου μου εκ γαστρος μητρος μου | 13 For you have possessed my temperament. You have supported me from the womb of my mother. |
εξομολογησομαι σοι οτι φοβερως εθαυμαστωθην θαυμασια τα εργα σου και η ψυχη μου γινωσκει σφοδρα | 14 I will confess to you, for you have been magnified terribly. Your works are miraculous, as my soul knows exceedingly well. |
ουκ εκρυβη το οστουν μου απο σου ο εποιησας εν κρυφη και η υποστασις μου εν τοις κατωτατοις της γης | 15 My bone, which you have made in secret, has not been hidden from you, and my substance is in accord with the lower parts of the earth. |
το ακατεργαστον μου ειδοσαν οι οφθαλμοι σου και επι το βιβλιον σου παντες γραφησονται ημερας πλασθησονται και ουθεις εν αυτοις | 16 Your eyes saw my imperfection, and all this shall be written in your book. Days will be formed, and no one shall be in them. |
εμοι δε λιαν ετιμηθησαν οι φιλοι σου ο θεος λιαν εκραταιωθησαν αι αρχαι αυτων | 17 But to me, O God, your friends have been greatly honored. Their first ruler has been exceedingly strengthened. |
εξαριθμησομαι αυτους και υπερ αμμον πληθυνθησονται εξηγερθην και ετι ειμι μετα σου | 18 I will number them, and they will be more numerous than the sand. I rose up, and I am still with you. |
εαν αποκτεινης αμαρτωλους ο θεος ανδρες αιματων εκκλινατε απ' εμου | 19 O God, if only you would cut down sinners. You men of blood: depart from me. |
οτι ερεις εις διαλογισμον λημψονται εις ματαιοτητα τας πολεις σου | 20 For you say in thought: They will accept your cities in vain. |
ουχι τους μισουντας σε κυριε εμισησα και επι τοις εχθροις σου εξετηκομην | 21 Have I not hated those who hated you, Lord, and wasted away because of your enemies? |
τελειον μισος εμισουν αυτους εις εχθρους εγενοντο μοι | 22 I have hated them with a perfect hatred, and they have become enemies to me. |
δοκιμασον με ο θεος και γνωθι την καρδιαν μου ετασον με και γνωθι τας τριβους μου | 23 Examine me, O God, and know my heart. Question me, and know my paths. |
και ιδε ει οδος ανομιας εν εμοι και οδηγησον με εν οδω αιωνια | 24 And see if there might be in me the way of iniquity, and lead me in the way of eternity. |
