1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:	1 Voici la révélation de Jésus Christ.Dieu lui a donné de montrer à ses serviteurs ce qui doit arriver bientôt. Et il a chargé son ange d’en donner une idée à Jean, son serviteur,
2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.	2 lequel certifie que toute cette vision qu’il a eue est parole de Dieu et déclaration de Jésus Christ.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.	3 Heureux celui qui fait la lecture, heureux ceux qui écoutent les paroles de cette prophétie et tiennent compte de tout ce qui est écrit! Car le temps est proche.
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;	4 Lettre de Jean aux sept Églises d’Asie: Recevez grâce et paix de celui Qui est, Qui était et Qui vient, et des sept Esprits qui se tiennent devant son trône,
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,	5 et de Jésus Christ, le témoin fidèle, le premier re-né d’entre les morts, le souverain de tous les rois de la terre.
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.	6 Il nous a aimés, et par son sang il nous a délivrés de nos péchés; il a fait de nous un royaume, une race de prêtres pour Dieu son Père. À lui la gloire et la puissance pour les siècles des siècles! Amen.
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.	7 Voici qu’il vient porté par les nuées; tout œil le verra, même ceux qui l’ont transpercé; toutes les races de la terre se frapperont la poitrine à cause de lui. Oui. Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.	8 “Je suis l’Alpha et l’Oméga, dit le Seigneur Dieu Qui est, Qui était et Qui vient, le Maître de l’univers.”
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.	9 Moi, Jean, qui suis votre frère et partage avec vous les persécutions, le royaume et l’endurance pour Jésus, je fus pris par l’Esprit certain jour du Seigneur. J’étais alors dans l’île de Patmos à cause de la parole de Dieu et des déclarations de Jésus.
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,	10 J’entendis derrière moi une voix qui résonnait comme une trompette:
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.	11 "Écris ce que tu vois, disait-elle, et envoie-le aux sept Églises: à Éphèse, à Smyrne, à Pergame, à Thyatire, à Sardes, à Philadelphie et à Laodicée.”
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;	12 Au bruit je me suis retourné pour voir qui me parlait; j’ai vu derrière moi sept lampes d’or
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.	13 et, au milieu des sept lampes, comme un fils d’homme dont le vêtement tombait sur les talons, avec une ceinture d’or à la hauteur de la poitrine.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;	14 Sa tête et ses cheveux sont blancs comme laine blanche, comme la neige, et ses yeux sont une flamme de feu.
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.	15 Ses pieds brillent comme le bronze en fusion, et sa voix résonne comme les eaux d’un gros torrent.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.	16 Il a sept étoiles dans sa main droite, et de sa bouche sort une épée aiguisée à double tranchant. Son visage resplendit comme le soleil dans toute sa force.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:	17 Quand je l’ai vu, je suis tombé à ses pieds comme mort. Mais il a posé sur moi sa main droite et m’a dit: “N’aie pas peur. Je suis le premier et le dernier;
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.	18 je suis Celui qui Vit. J’étais mort mais maintenant je vis pour les siècles des siècles et j’ai en main les clés de la mort et de son royaume.
19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;	19 Écris donc ce que tu vois: c’est à la fois le présent et ce qui va bientôt arriver.
20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.	20 Veux-tu le secret des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans mes mains et des sept lampes d’or; les sept étoiles sont les anges des sept Églises et les lampes sont les sept Églises.
