KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;	1 Malheur à la ville sanguinaire, toute en mensonges, pleine de butin, où ne cesse pas la rapine!
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.	2 Claquement des fouets, fracas des roues, chevaux au galop, chars qui bondissent,
3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:	3 cavaliers à la charge, flammes des épées éclairs des lances, foule des blessés, masse des morts, sansfin des cadavres, on bute sur leurs cadavres!
4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.	4 C'est à cause des prostitutions sans nombre de la prostituée, la beauté gracieuse, l'habileenchanteresse qui réduisait en esclavage les nations par ses débauches, les peuples par ses enchantements.
5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.	5 Me voici! A toi! oracle de Yahvé Sabaot. Je vais relever jusqu'à ton visage les pans de ta robe,montrer aux nations ta nudité, aux royaumes ton ignominie.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.	6 Je vais jeter sur toi des ordures, te déshonorer, t'exposer au pilori.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?	7 Alors, quiconque te verra se détournera de toi. Il dira: "Ninive! quelle désolation!" Qui la prendraiten pitié? Où pourrais-je te chercher des consolateurs?
8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?	8 Valais-tu mieux que No-Amon assise sur les Fleuves? (les eaux l'entouraient) Pour avant-mur, elleavait la mer, pour rempart, les eaux.
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.	9 Sa puissance, c'était l'Ethiopie, et l'Egypte, sans fin. Put et les Libyens étaient ses auxiliaires.
10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.	10 Elle aussi est allée en exil, en captivité; ses petits enfants aussi ont été écrasés à tous les carrefours;ses nobles, on les a tirés au sort, tous ses grands ont été liés avec des chaînes.
11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.	11 Toi aussi, tu seras enivrée, tu seras celle qui se cache; toi aussi, tu devras chercher un refuge contrel'ennemi.
12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.	12 Tes places fortes sont toutes des figuiers aux figues précoces: on les secoue, elles tombent dans labouche de qui les mange.
13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.	13 Regarde ton peuple: ce sont des femmes qu'il y a chez toi; les portes de ton pays s'ouvrent toutesgrandes à l'ennemi; le feu a dévoré tes verrous.
14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.	14 Puise de l'eau pour le siège, consolide tes places fortes, marche dans la boue, foule l'argile, prendsle moule à briques.
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.	15 Alors le feu te dévorera et l'épée t'exterminera. Amoncelle-toi comme les criquets, amoncelle-toicomme les sauterelles;
16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.	16 multiplie tes courtiers plus que les étoiles du ciel, les criquets déploient leurs élytres, ils s'envolent,
17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.	17 tes garnisons comme les sauterelles, tes scribes comme un essaim d'insectes. Ils campent sur lesmurs au jour du froid. Le soleil paraît: ils sont partis, nul ne sait où. Malheur! Comment
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.	18 se sont endormis tes bergers, roi d'Assur? Tes puissants sommeillent, ton peuple est dispersé sur lesmontagnes, nul ne pourra plus les rassembler.
19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?	19 A ta blessure, pas de remède! Ta plaie est incurable. Tous ceux qui entendent ce qu'on dit de toibattent des mains sur toi; sur qui donc n'est pas passée, sans trêve, ta méchanceté?
