Leviticus 26

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.	1 Vous ne vous ferez pas d'idoles, vous ne vous dresserez ni statue ni stèle, vous ne mettrez pasdans votre pays des pierres peintes pour vous prosterner devant elles, car je suis Yahvé votre Dieu.
2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.	2 Vous garderez mes sabbats et révérerez mon sanctuaire. Je suis Yahvé.
3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;	3 Si vous vous conduisez selon mes lois, si vous gardez mes commandements et les mettez enpratique,
4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.	4 je vous donnerai en leur saison les pluies qu'il vous faut, la terre donnera ses produits et l'arbrede la campagne ses fruits,
5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.	5 vous battrez jusqu'aux vendanges et vous vendangerez jusqu'aux semailles. Vous mangerez votrepain à satiété et vous habiterez dans votre pays en sécurité.
6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.	6 Je mettrai la paix dans le pays et vous dormirez sans que nul vous effraie. Je ferai disparaître dupays les bêtes néfastes. L'épée ne traversera pas votre pays.
7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.	7 Vous poursuivrez vos ennemis qui succomberont devant votre épée.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.	8 Cinq d'entre vous en poursuivront cent, cent en poursuivront 10.000, et vos ennemissuccomberont devant votre épée.
9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.	9 Je me tournerai vers vous, je vous ferai croître et multiplier, et je maintiendrai avec vous monalliance.
10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.	10 Après vous être nourris de la précédente récolte, vous aurez encore à mettre dehors du vieuxgrain pour faire place au nouveau.
11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.	11 J'établirai ma demeure au milieu de vous et je ne vous rejetterai pas.
12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.	12 Je vivrai au milieu de vous, je serai votre Dieu et vous serez mon peuple.
13 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.	13 C'est moi Yahvé votre Dieu qui vous ai fait sortir du pays d'Egypte pour que vous n'en fussiezplus les serviteurs; j'ai brisé les barres de votre joug et je vous ai fait marcher la tête haute.
14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;	14 Mais si vous ne m'écoutez pas et ne mettez pas en pratique tous ces commandements,
15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:	15 si vous rejetez mes lois, prenez mes coutumes en dégoût et rompez mon alliance en ne mettantpas en pratique tous mes commandements,
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.	16 j'agirai de même, moi aussi, envers vous. Je vous assujettirai au tremblement, ainsi qu'à laconsomption et à la fièvre qui usent les yeux et épuisent le souffle. Vous ferez de vaines semailles dont senourriront vos ennemis.
17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.	17 Je me tournerai contre vous et vous serez battus par vos ennemis. Vos adversaires dominerontsur vous et vous fuirez alors même que personne ne vous poursuivra.
18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.	18 Et si malgré cela vous ne m'écoutez point, je continuerai à vous châtier au septuple pour vospéchés.
19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:	19 Je briserai votre orgueilleuse puissance, je vous ferai un ciel de fer et une terre d'airain;
20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.	20 votre force se consumera vainement, votre terre ne donnera plus ses produits et l'arbre de lacampagne ne donnera plus ses fruits.
21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.	21 Si vous vous opposez à moi et ne consentez pas à m'écouter, j'accumulerai sur vous ces plaiesau septuple pour vos péchés.
22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate.	22 Je lâcherai contre vous les bêtes sauvages qui vous raviront vos enfants, anéantiront votre bétailet vous décimeront au point que vos chemins deviendront déserts.
23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;	23 Et si cela ne vous corrige point, et si vous vous opposez toujours à moi,
24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.	24 je m'opposerai, moi aussi, à vous, et de plus je vous frapperai, moi, au septuple pour vospéchés.
25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.	25 Je ferai venir contre vous l'épée qui vengera l'Alliance. Vous vous grouperez alors dans vosvilles, mais j'enverrai la peste au milieu de vous et vous serez livrés au pouvoir de l'ennemi.
26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.	26 Quand je vous retirerai la baguette de pain, dix femmes pourront vous cuire ce pain dans unseul four, c'est à poids compté qu'elles vous rapporteront ce pain, et vous mangerez sans vous rassasier.
27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;	27 Et si malgré cela vous ne m'écoutez point et que vous vous opposiez à moi,
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.	28 je m'opposerai à vous avec fureur, je vous châtierai, moi, au septuple pour vos péchés.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.	29 Vous mangerez la chair de vos fils et vous mangerez la chair de vos filles.
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.	30 Je détruirai vos hauts lieux, j'anéantirai vos autels à encens, j'entasserai vos cadavres sur lescadavres de vos idoles et je vous rejetterai.
31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.	31 Je ferai de vos villes une ruine, je dévasterai vos sanctuaires et ne respirerai plus vos parfumsd'apaisement.
32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.	32 C'est moi qui dévasterai le pays et ils en seront stupéfaits, vos ennemis venus l'habiter!
33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.	33 Vous, je vous disperserai parmi les nations. Je dégainerai contre vous l'épée pour faire de votrepays un désert et de vos villes une ruine.
34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.	34 C'est alors que le pays acquittera ses sabbats, pendant tous ces jours de désolation, alors quevous serez dans le pays de vos ennemis. C'est alors que le pays chômera et pourra acquitter ses sabbats.
35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.	35 Il chômera durant tous les jours de la désolation, ce qu'il n'avait pas fait à vos jours de sabbatquand vous y habitiez.
36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.	36 Chez ceux d'entre vous qui survivront, je ferai venir la peur dans leur coeur; quand ils setrouveront dans le pays de leurs ennemis, poursuivis par le bruit d'une feuille morte, ils fuiront comme on fuitdevant l'épée et ils tomberont alors que nul ne les poursuivait.
37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.	37 Ils trébucheront l'un sur l'autre comme devant une épée, et nul ne les poursuit! Vous ne pourreztenir devant vos ennemis,
38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.	38 vous périrez parmi les nations et le pays de vos ennemis vous dévorera.
39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.	39 Ceux qui parmi vous survivront dépériront dans les pays de leurs ennemis à cause de leursfautes; c'est aussi à cause des fautes de leurs pères, jointes aux leurs, qu'ils dépériront.
40 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;	40 Ils confesseront alors leurs fautes et celles de leurs pères, fautes commises par infidélité enversmoi, mieux, par opposition contre moi.
41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:	41 Moi aussi je m'opposerai à eux et je les mènerai au pays de leurs ennemis. Alors leur coeurincirconcis s'humiliera, alors ils expieront leurs fautes.
42 Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.	42 Je me rappellerai mon alliance avec Jacob ainsi que mon alliance avec Isaac et mon allianceavec Abraham, je me souviendrai du pays.
43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.	43 Abandonné d'eux, le pays acquittera ses sabbats lorsqu'il restera désolé, eux partis. Mais ilsdevront, eux, expier leur faute, puisqu'ils ont rejeté mes coutumes et pris mes lois en dégoût.
44 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.	44 Cependant ce ne sera pas tout: quand ils seront dans le pays de leurs ennemis, je ne les rejetteraipas et ne les prendrai pas en dégoût au point d'en finir avec eux et de rompre mon alliance avec eux, car je suisYahvé leur Dieu.
45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.	45 Je me souviendrai en leur faveur de l'alliance conclue avec les premières générations que j'aifait sortir du pays d'Egypte, sous les yeux des nations, afin d'être leur Dieu, moi, Yahvé.
46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.	46 Tels sont les décrets, les coutumes et les lois qu'établit Yahvé, entre lui et les Israélites, sur lemont Sinaï, par l'intermédiaire de Moïse.
