KING JAMES BIBLE | DOUAI-RHEIMS |
---|---|
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. | 1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. |
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; | 2 Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly. |
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. | 3 Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea. |
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. | 4 Their waters roared and were troubled: the mountains were troubled with his strength. |
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. | 5 The stream of the river maketh the city of God joyful: the most High hath sanctified his own tabernacle. |
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. | 6 God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early. |
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. | 7 Nations were troubled, and kingdoms were bowed down: he uttered his voice, the earth trembled. |
Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. | 8 The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector. |
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. | 9 Come and behold ye the works of the Lord: what wonders he hath done upon earth, |
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. | 10 making wars to cease even to the end of the earth. He shall destroy the bow, and break the weapons: and the shield he shall burn in the fire. |
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. | 11 Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. |
The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector. |
