KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nekünk azonban, akik erősek vagyunk, kötelességünk, hogy elviseljük az erőtlenek gyengeségeit, és ne a magunk kedvét keressük.	1 It is for us who are strong to bear with the susceptibilities of the weaker ones, and not pleaseourselves.
2 Mindegyiktek igyekezzen keresni felebarátjának kedvét, javát és épülését!	2 Each of us must consider his neighbour's good, so that we support one another.
3 Hiszen Krisztus sem kereste a maga kedvét, hanem amint meg van írva: »Szidalmazóid szidalmai rám hullottak« .	3 Christ did not indulge his own feelings, either; indeed, as scripture says: The insults of those whoinsult you fal on me.
4 Márpedig minden régi Írást a mi okulásunkra írtak meg, hogy reménységünk legyen az Írásokból származó béketűrés és vigasztalás által.	4 And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseveranceand the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope.
5 A béketűrés és a vigasztalás Istene pedig adja meg nektek, hogy Jézus akarata szerint egyetértés legyen köztetek,	5 Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you al the same purpose, fol owing theexample of Christ Jesus,
6 hogy egy lélekkel és egy szájjal dicsőítsétek Jézus Krisztusnak, a mi Urunknak Istenét és Atyját!	6 so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart.
7 Fogadjátok el tehát egymást, ahogyan Krisztus is elfogadott titeket Isten dicsőségére!	7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.
8 Azt mondom ugyanis, hogy Krisztus Jézus a körülmetéltek szolgája lett, hogy bebizonyítsa Isten igazmondását, megvalósítva az atyáknak tett ígéreteket;	8 I tel you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfil ing the truthfulness of God by carryingout the promises made to the fathers,
9 a nemzetek azonban irgalmasságáért dicsőítik Istent, amint meg van írva: »Ezért magasztallak, Uram, a nemzetek között, és zengek dalt nevednek«.	9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.
10 Azt mondja továbbá: »Nemzetek, örvendezzetek az ő népével együtt«.	10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,
11 Majd pedig: »Nemzetek, dicsérjétek mindnyájan az Urat! Magasztalja őt minden nép!«	11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, al peoples.
12 Izajás továbbá azt mondja: »Jesszének sarja lesz, aki felkel, hogy uralkodjék a népeken, benne reménykednek a nemzetek« .	12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse wil appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in himthe nations wil put their hope.
13 A reménység Istene töltsön el titeket a hit teljes örömével és békéjével, hogy a remény bőségben legyen bennetek a Szentlélek erejéből!	13 May the God of hope fil you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the HolySpirit you may be rich in hope.
14 Testvérek, veletek kapcsolatban meg vagyok győződve arról, hogy ti is telve vagytok jósággal, bővében vagytok minden ismeretnek, és képesek vagytok figyelmeztetni egymást.	14 My brothers, I am quite sure that you, in particular, are ful of goodness, ful y instructed and capableof correcting each other.
15 Itt-ott merészebben írtam nektek, testvérek, hogy emlékeztesselek titeket bizonyos dolgokra. Annak a kegyelemnek erejében tettem ezt, amit Isten adott nekem,	15 But I have special confidence in writing on some points to you, to refresh your memories, because ofthe grace that was given to me by God.
16 hogy Krisztus Jézus szolgája legyek a nemzetek között, és Isten evangéliumának szent szolgálatát végezzem, s így a nemzetek kedves, és a Szentlélek által megszentelt áldozattá legyenek.	16 I was given grace to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, dedicated to offer them the gospelof God, so that gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
17 Van tehát mivel dicsekednem Krisztus Jézusban Isten előtt.	17 So I can be proud, in Christ Jesus, of what I have done for God.
18 Természetesen csak arról merek beszélni, amit Krisztus vitt általam végbe a nemzetek megtérítésére szóval és tettel:	18 Of course I can dare to speak only of the things which Christ has done through me to win theal egiance of the gentiles, using what I have said and done,
19 a jelek és csodák erejével, a Lélek erejével, amíg Jeruzsálemtől messze körbejárva Illíriáig teljesítettem Krisztus evangéliumának hirdetését.	19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. In this way, from Jerusalemand all round, even as far as Il yricum, I have ful y carried out the preaching of the gospel of Christ;
20 Így tehát becsületbeli dolognak tartottam hirdetni az evangéliumot, de nem ott, ahol Krisztus neve már ismert volt, nehogy más által rakott alapra építsek,	20 and what is more, it has been my rule to preach the gospel only where the name of Christ has notalready been heard, for I do not build on another's foundations;
21 hanem amint meg van írva: »Akiknek nem hirdették, meglátják, s akik nem hallották, megértik« .	21 in accordance with scripture: Those who have never been told about him wil see him, and thosewho have never heard about him will understand.
22 Ez akadályozott meg igen sokszor abban, hogy hozzátok menjek.	22 That is why I have been so often prevented from coming to see you;
23 Mivel azonban most már nincs helyem ezeken a tájakon, s már sok év óta vágyódom hozzátok menni,	23 now, however, as there is nothing more to keep me in these parts, I hope, after longing for manyyears past to visit you, to see you when I am on the way to Spain-
24 amikor majd útra kelek Hispániába, remélem, hogy átmenőben meglátlak titeket, s ti elkísértek majd oda, miután körötökben kissé felüdültem.	24 and after enjoying at least something of your company, to be sent on my way with your support.
25 Most azonban Jeruzsálembe indulok a szentek szolgálatában.	25 But now I have undertaken to go to Jerusalem in the service of the holy people of God there,
26 Makedónia és Akhája ugyanis jónak látták, hogy némi gyűjtést rendezzenek a jeruzsálemi szentek szegényei számára.	26 since Macedonia and Achaia have chosen to make a generous contribution to the poor amongGod's holy people at Jerusalem.
27 Jónak látták, de tartoznak is nekik. Mert ha a nemzetek részesei lettek az ő lelki javaiknak, kötelességük anyagiakkal nekik szolgálni.	27 Yes, they chose to; not that they did not owe it to them. For if the gentiles have been given a sharein their spiritual possessions, then in return to give them help with material possessions is repaying a debt tothem.
28 Amikor tehát ezt elvégeztem és kezükbe tettem ennek a gyűjtésnek a gyümölcsét, utamba ejtve titeket, elmegyek Hispániába.	28 So when I have done this, and given this harvest into their possession, I shall visit you on the way toSpain.
29 Tudom, hogy amikor hozzátok megyek, Krisztus áldásának bőségével megyek.	29 I am sure that, when I do come to you, I shal come with the fullest blessing of Christ.
30 Kérlek tehát titeket, testvérek, a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusra és a Szentlélek szeretetére, segítsetek engem imádságaitokban. Kérjétek Istent értem,	30 Meanwhile I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that in yourprayers to God for me you exert yourselves to help me;
31 hogy megmeneküljek a hitetlenektől, akik Júdeában vannak, és Jeruzsálem érdekében való szolgálatom kedves legyen a szenteknek,	31 praying that I may escape the unbelievers in Judaea, and that the aid I am carrying to Jerusalem wilbe acceptable to God's holy people.
32 s így azután Isten akaratából örömmel menjek hozzátok, és megpihenhessek nálatok.	32 Then I shal come to you, if God wil s, for a happy time of relaxation in your company.
33 A békesség Istene legyen veletek, mindnyájatokkal! Ámen.	33 The God of peace be with you al . Amen.
