1 A fenyegető jövendölés, melyet Habakuk próféta látott.	1 The burden that Habakkuk the prophet saw.
2 Meddig kiáltok még, Uram, és nem hallgatsz meg engem? Kiáltozom hozzád: »Erőszak!«, és te nem szabadítasz meg engem?	2 How long, O Lord, shall I cry out, and you will not heed? Shall I shout to you while suffering violence, and you will not save?
3 Miért engedsz látnom gonoszságot és nyomorúságot, miért kell fosztogatást és elnyomást látnom magam előtt? Folyik a per, és egyre nagyobb a civakodás.	3 Why have you revealed to me iniquity and hardship, to see plunder and injustice opposite me? 8 Lovai gyorsabbak a párducnál, és vadabbak az esti farkasnál. 13 A te szemed tiszta, s te nem nézheted a rosszat, a gonoszságot nem szemlélheted. Miért nézed tehát e gonosztevőket, és miért hallgatsz, amikor a gonosz elnyeli a nála igazabbat?	13 Your eyes are pure, you do not behold evil, and you cannot look towards iniquity. Why do you look upon the agents of iniquity, and remain silent, while the impious is devouring one who is more just than himself?
14 Olyanokká tetted az embereket, mint a tenger halait, és mint a csúszómászót, melynek nincsen gazdája.	14 And you will make men like the fish of the sea and like the creeping things that have no ruler.
