KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Azt mondta továbbá az Úr Mózesnek: »Szólj a papokhoz, Áron fiaihoz és mondd nekik: Pap ne tegye magát tisztátalanná polgártársainak holtteste által,	1 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Speak to the priests descended from Aaron and say: "None of them mustmake himself unclean by touching the corpse of one of his people,
2 ha csak nem közeli vérrokona, azaz atyja, anyja, fia, lánya, fivére	2 unless it be of one of his closest relations-father, mother, son, daughter, brother,
3 vagy még férjhez nem ment, szűz nővére.	3 or virgin sister, since she being unmarried is still his close relation: he can make himself unclean forher;
4 Még népének fejedelme által se tegye magát tisztátalanná.	4 but for a close female relation who is married he wil not make himself unclean; he would profanehimself.
5 Ne nyírják meg fejüket és szakállukat, testükön bevágásokat ne csináljanak.	5 "They wil not make tonsures on their heads, shave the edges of their beards, or gash their bodies.
6 Szentek legyenek Istenüknek, meg ne szentségtelenítsék nevét, mert az Úr tűzáldozatait, Istenük kenyerét áldozzák, s azért szenteknek kell lenniük.	6 They wil be consecrated to their God and wil not profane the name of their God. For their function isto offer the food burnt for Yahweh, the food of their God, and so they must be holy.
7 Parázna vagy becstelen asszonyt ne vegyenek nőül, olyat se, akit férje eltaszított, mert Istenüknek szentelték magukat,	7 "They wil not marry a woman profaned by prostitution, or one divorced by her husband, for the priestis consecrated to his God.
8 s a kiteendő kenyereket áldozzák. Szentek legyenek tehát, mert szent vagyok én is, az Úr, aki szentséget kívánok tőlük.	8 "You wil treat him as holy, for he offers the food of your God. For you, he wil be a holy person, for I,Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy.
9 A pap lányát, ha paráznaságon érik, s így atyja nevét megszentségteleníti, tűzben égessék el.	9 "If a priest's daughter profanes herself by prostitution, she profanes her father and wil be burnt alive.
10 A főpap, azaz testvérei között a legfőbb pap, kinek fejére öntötték a kenet olaját, s akinek kezét felszentelték a papságra, s akit felöltöztettek a szent ruhákba, fejét díszétől meg ne fossza, ruháját meg ne szaggassa.	10 "The priest who is pre-eminent over his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured,and who, robed in the sacred vestments, has received investiture, wil not disorder his hair or tear his clothes;
11 Egyáltalán semmiféle holttesthez be ne menjen – még atyja vagy anyja által se tegye magát tisztátalanná –,	11 he wil not go near any corpse or make himself unclean even for his father or mother.
12 s ki ne menjen a szent helyről, hogy meg ne szentségtelenítse az Úr szent helyét, mert Istene szent kenetének olaja van rajta. Én vagyok az Úr!	12 He wil not leave the holy place in such a way as to profane the sanctuary of his God; for he bears theconsecration of the anointing oil of his God. I am Yahweh.
13 Szűz lányt vegyen feleségül,	13 "He will marry a woman who is stil a virgin.
14 özvegyet, eltaszítottat, becstelent vagy parázna nőt el ne vegyen, hanem csak népéből való hajadon leányt,	14 He wil not marry a woman who has been widowed or divorced or profaned by prostitution, but wilmarry a virgin from his own people:
15 hogy nemzetsége törzsét össze ne keverje nemzete köznépével, mert én, az Úr, szentséget kívánok tőle.«	15 he must not make his own children profane, for I, Yahweh, have sanctified him." '
16 Így szólt továbbá az Úr Mózeshez:	16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
17 »Szólj Áronhoz: Ha valakinek utódaid közül, bármely nemzedékben, testi hibája van: ne mutasson be kenyeret Istenének;	17 'Speak to Aaron and say: "None of your descendants, for al time, may come forward to offer the foodof his God if he has any infirmity,
18 ne járuljon az ő szolgálatához olyan, aki vak, sánta, tömpe-, nagy- vagy görbeorrú,	18 for none may come forward if he has an infirmity, be he blind or lame, disfigured or deformed,
19 aki töröttlábú vagy -kezű,	19 or with an injured foot or arm,
20 aki púpos, aki fájósszemű, akinek a szemén hályog, a testén állandó var vagy sömör van, vagy aki megszakadt.	20 a hunchback, someone with rickets or ophthalmia or the scab or running sores, or a eunuch.
21 Senki, akinek testi hibája van Áron pap ivadékai közül, elő ne álljon, hogy tűzáldozatot mutasson be az Úrnak, kenyeret az Istenének.	21 No descendant of the priest Aaron may come forward to offer the food burnt for Yahweh if he has anyinfirmity; if he has an infirmity, he wil not come forward to offer the food of his God.
22 Ehet ugyan a szent helyen bemutatott kenyerekből,	22 "He may eat the food of his God, things especially holy and things holy,
23 de a függönyön belülre nem mehet, s az oltárhoz nem járulhat, mert testi hibája van, s nem szabad szentségtelenné tennie szent helyemet. Én, az Úr, szentséget kívánok tőlük!«	23 but he wil not go near the curtain or approach the altar, since he has an infirmity and must notprofane my holy things; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified them." '
24 Elmondta tehát Mózes Áronnak s fiainak meg egész Izraelnek mindazt, amit az Úr megparancsolt neki.	24 And Moses promulgated this to Aaron, to his sons, and to all the Israelites.
