1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction.	1 Il y a eu de faux prophètes dans le peuple, comme il y aura aussi parmi vous de faux docteurs, quiintroduiront des sectes pernicieuses et qui, reniant le Maître qui les a rachetés, attireront sur eux-mêmes uneprompte perdition.
2 And many shall follow their riotousnesses, through whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.	2 Beaucoup suivront leurs débauches, et la voie de la vérité sera blasphémée, à cause d'eux.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their perdition slumbereth not.	3 Par cupidité, au moyen de paroles trompeuses, ils trafiqueront de vous, eux dont le jugement depuislongtemps n'est pas inactif et dont la perdition ne sommeille pas.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment:	4 Car si Dieu n'a pas épargné les Anges qui avaient péché, mais les a mis dans le Tartare et livrés auxabîmes de ténèbres, où ils sont réservés pour le Jugement;
5 And spared not the original world, but preserved Noe, the eighth person, the preacher of justice, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.	5 s'il n'a pas épargné l'ancien monde, tout en préservant huit personnes dont Noé, héraut de justice,tandis qu'il amenait le Déluge sur un monde d'impies;
6 And reducing the cities of the Sodomites, and of the Gomorrhites, into ashes, condemned them to be overthrown, making them an example to those that should after act wickedly.	6 si, à titre d'exemple pour les impies à venir, il a mis en cendres et condamné à la destruction lesvilles de Sodome et de Gomorrhe,
7 And delivered just Lot, oppressed by the injustice and lewd conversation of the wicked.	7 s'il a délivré Lot, le juste, qu'affligeait la conduite débauchée de ces hommes criminels -
8 For in sight and hearing he was just: dwelling among them, who from day to day vexed the just soul with unjust works.	8 car ce juste qui habitait au milieu d'eux torturait jour après jour son âme de juste à cause desoeuvres iniques qu'il voyait et entendait -,
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented.	9 c'est que le Seigneur sait délivrer de l'épreuve les hommes pieux et garder les hommes impies pourles châtier au jour du Jugement,
10 And especially them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government, audacious, self willed, they fear not to bring in sects, blaspheming.	10 surtout ceux qui, par convoitise impure, suivent la chair et méprisent la Seigneurie. Audacieux,arrogants, ils ne craignent pas de blasphémer les Gloires,
11 Whereas angels who are greater in strength and power, bring not against themselves a railing judgment.	11 alors que les Anges, quoique supérieurs en force et en puissance, ne portent pas contre elles devantle Seigneur de jugement calomnieux.
12 But these men, as irrational beasts, naturally tending to the snare and to destruction, blaspheming those things which they know not, shall perish in their corruption,	12 Mais eux sont comme des animaux sans raison, voués par nature à être pris et détruits;blasphémant ce qu'ils ignorent, de la même destruction ils seront détruits eux aussi,
13 Receiving the reward of their injustice, counting for a pleasure the delights of a day: stains and spots, sporting themselves to excess, rioting in their feasts with you:	13 subissant l'injustice comme salaire de l'injustice. Ils estiment délices la volupté du jour, hommessouillés et flétris, ils mettent leur volupté à vous tromper, en faisant bonne chère avec vous.
14 Having eyes full of adultery and of sin that ceaseth not: alluring unstable souls, having their heart exercised with covetousness, children of malediction:	14 Ils ont les yeux pleins d'adultère et insatiables de péché, ils allèchent les âmes mal affermies, ilsont le coeur exercé à la cupidité, êtres maudits!
15 Leaving the right way they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam of Bosor, who loved the wages of iniquity,	15 Après avoir quitté la voie droite, ils se sont égarés en suivant la voie de Balaam, fils de Bosor, quichérit un salaire d'injustice
16 But had a check of his madness, the dumb beast used to the yoke, which speaking with man's voice, forbade the folly of the prophet.	16 mais qui fut repris de son méfait. Une monture sans voix, avec une voix humaine, arrêta ladémence du prophète.
17 These are fountains without water, and clouds tossed with whirlwinds, to whom the mist of darkness is reserved.	17 Ce sont des fontaines sans eau et des nuages poussés par un tourbillon; l'obscurité des ténèbres leurest réservée.
18 For, speaking proud words of vanity, they allure by the desires of fleshly riotousness, those who for a little while escape, such as converse in error:	18 Avec des discours gonflés de vide, ils allèchent, par les désirs charnels, par les débauches, ceuxqui venaient à peine de fuir les gens qui passent leur vie dans l'égarement.
19 Promising them liberty, whereas they themselves are the slaves of corruption. For by whom a man is overcome, of the same also he is the slave.	19 Ils leur promettent la liberté, mais ils sont eux-mêmes esclaves de la corruption, car on est esclavede ce qui vous domine.
20 For if, flying from the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they be again entangled in them and overcome: their latter state is become unto them worse than the former.	20 En effet, si, après avoir fui les souillures du monde par la connaissance du Seigneur et SauveurJésus Christ, ils s'y engagent de nouveau et sont dominés, leur dernière condition est devenue pire que lapremière.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of justice, than after they have known it, to turn back from that holy commandment which was delivered to them.	21 Car mieux valait pour eux n'avoir pas connu la voie de la justice, que de l'avoir connue pour sedétourner du saint commandement qui leur avait été transmis.
22 For, that of the true proverb has happened to them: The dog is returned to his vomit: and, The sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire.	22 Il leur est arrivé ce que dit le véridique proverbe: Le chien est retourné à son propre vomissement,et: "La truie à peine lavée se roule dans le bourbier."
