1 And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto mount Olivet, then Jesus sent two disciples,	1 Cuando se aproximaron a Jerusalén, al llegar a Betfagé, junto al monte de los Olivos, entonces envió Jesús a dos discípulos,
2 Saying to them: Go ye into the village that is over against you, and immediately you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me.	2 diciéndoles: «Id al pueblo que está enfrente de vosotros, y enseguida encontraréis un asna atada y un pollino con ella; desatadlos y traédmelos.
3 And if any man shall say anything to you, say ye, that the Lord hath need of them: and forthwith he will let them go.	3 Y si alguien os dice algo, diréis: El Señor los necesita, pero enseguida los devolverá».
4 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:	4 Esto sucedió para que se cumpliese el oráculo del profeta:
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion: Behold thy king cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of her that is used to the yoke.	5 Decid a la hija de Sión: He aquí que tu Rey viene a ti, manso y montado en un asna y un pollino, hijo de animal de yugo.
6 And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them.	6 Fueron, pues, los discípulos e hicieron como Jesús les había encargado:
7 And they brought the ass and the colt, and laid their garments upon them, and made him sit thereon.	7 trajeron el asna y el pollino. Luego pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos, y él se sentó encima.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way: and others cut boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way:	8 La gente, muy numerosa, extendió sus mantos por el camino; otros cortaban ramas de los árboles y las tendían por el camino.
9 And the multitudes that went before and that followed, cried, saying: Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.	9 Y la gente que iba delante y detrás de él gritaba: «¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!»
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, the whole city was moved, saying: Who is this?	10 Y al entrar él en Jerusalén, toda la ciudad se conmovió. «¿Quién es éste?» decían.
11 And the people said: This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.	11 Y la gente decía: «Este es el profeta Jesús, de Nazaret de Galilea».
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the chairs of them that sold doves:	12 Entró Jesús en el Templo y echó fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en el Templo; volcó las mesas de los cambistas y los puestos de los vendedores de palomas.
13 And he saith to them: It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.	13 Y les dijo: «Está escrito: Mi Casa será llamada Casa de oración. ¡Pero vosotros estáis haciendo de ella una cueva de bandidos!»
14 And there came to him the blind and the lame in the temple; and he healed them.	14 También en el Templo se acercaron a él algunos ciegos y cojos, y los curó.
15 And the chief priests and scribes, seeing the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying: Hosanna to the son of David; were moved with indignation.	15 Mas los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas, al ver los milagros que había hecho y a los niños que gritaban en el Templo: «¡Hosanna al Hijo de David!», se indignaron
16 And said to him: Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus said to them: Yea, have you never read: Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise?	16 y le dijeron: «¿Oyes lo que dicen éstos?» «Sí - les dice Jesús -. ¿No habéis leído nunca que De la boca de los niños y de los que aún maman te preparaste alabanza?»
17 And leaving them, he went out of the city into Bethania, and remained there.	17 Y dejándolos, salió fuera de la ciudad, a Betania, donde pasó la noche.
18 And in the morning, returning into the city, he was hungry.	18 Al amanecer, cuando volvía a la ciudad, sintió hambre;
19 And seeing a certain fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only, and he saith to it: May no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.	19 y viendo una higuera junto al camino, se acercó a ella, pero no encontró en ella más que hojas. Entonces le dice: «¡Que nunca jamás brote fruto de ti!» Y al momento se secó la higuera.
20 And the disciples seeing it wondered, saying: How is it presently withered away?	20 Al verlo los discípulos se maravillaron y decían: «¿Cómo al momento quedó seca la higuera?»
21 And Jesus answering, said to them: Amen, I say to you, if you shall have faith, and stagger not, not only this of the fig tree shall you do, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Take up and cast thyself into the sea, it shall be done.	21 Jesús les respondió: «Yo os aseguro: si tenéis fe y no vaciláis, no sólo haréis lo de la higuera, sino que si aun decís a este monte: “Quítate y arrójate al mar”, así se hará.
22 And in all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.	22 Y todo cuanto pidáis con fe en la oración, lo recibiréis».
23 And when he was come into the temple, there came to him, as he was teaching, the chief priests and ancients of the people, saying: By what authority dost thou these things? and who hath given thee this authority?	23 Llegado al Templo, mientras enseñaba se le acercaron los sumos sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo diciendo: «¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? ¿Y quién te ha dado tal autoridad?»
24 Jesus answering, said to them: I also will ask you one word, which if you shall tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.	24 Jesús les respondió: «También yo os voy a preguntar una cosa; si me contestáis a ella, yo os diré a mi vez con qué autoridad hago esto.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? But they thought within themselves, saying:	25 El bautismo de Juan, ¿de dónde era?, ¿del cielo o de los hombres?» Ellos discurrían entre sí: «Si decimos: “Del cielo”, nos dirá: “Entonces ¿por qué no le creísteis?”
26 If we shall say, from heaven, he will say to us: Why then did you not believe him? But if we shall say, from men, we are afraid of the multitude: for all held John as a prophet.	26 Y si decimos: “De los hombres”, tenemos miedo a la gente, pues todos tienen a Juan por profeta».
27 And answering Jesus, they said: We know not. He also said to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.	27 Respondieron, pues, a Jesús: «No sabemos». Y él les replicó asimismo: «Tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago esto».
28 But what think you? A certain man had two sons; and coming to the first, he said: Son, go work to day in my vineyard.	28 «Pero ¿qué os parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos. Llegándose al primero, le dijo: “Hijo, vete hoy a trabajar en la viña.”
29 And he answering, said: I will not. But afterwards, being moved with repentance, he went.	29 Y él respondió: “No quiero”, pero después se arrepintió y fue.
30 And coming to the other, he said in like manner. And he answering, said: I go, Sir; and he went not.	30 Llegándose al segundo, le dijo lo mismo. Y él respondió: “Voy, Señor”, y no fue.
31 Which of the two did the father's will? They say to him: The first. Jesus saith to them: Amen I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots shall go into the kingdom of God before you.	31 ¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad del padre?» - «El primero» - le dicen. Díceles Jesús: «En verdad os digo que los publicanos y las rameras llegan antes que vosotros al Reino de Dios.
32 For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the publicans and the harlots believed him: but you, seeing it, did not even afterwards repent, that you might believe him.	32 Porque vino Juan a vosotros por camino de justicia, y no creísteis en él, mientras que los publicanos y las rameras creyeron en él. Y vosotros, ni viéndolo, os arrepentisteis después, para creer en él.
33 Hear ye another parable. There was a man an householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge round about it, and dug in it a press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen; and went into a strange country.	33 «Escuchad otra parábola. Era un propietario que plantó una viña, la rodeó de una cerca, cavó en ella un lagar y edificó una torre; la arrendó a unos labradores y se ausentó.
34 And when the time of the fruits drew nigh, he sent his servants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits thereof.	34 Cuando llegó el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus siervos a los labradores para recibir sus frutos.
35 And the husbandmen laying hands on his servants, beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.	35 Pero los labradores agarraron a los siervos, y a uno le golpearon, a otro le mataron, a otro le apedrearon.
36 Again he sent other servants more than the former; and they did to them in like manner.	36 De nuevo envió otros siervos en mayor número que los primeros; pero los trataron de la misma manera.
37 And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son.	37 Finalmente les envió a su hijo, diciendo: “A mi hijo le respetarán.”
38 But the husbandmen seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance.	38 Pero los labradores, al ver al hijo, se dijeron entre sí: “Este es el heredero. Vamos, matémosle y quedémonos con su herencia.”
39 And taking him, they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him.	39 Y agarrándole, le echaron fuera de la viña y le mataron.
40 When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?	40 Cuando venga, pues, el dueño de la viña, ¿qué hará con aquellos labradores?»
41 They say to him: He will bring those evil men to an evil end; and will let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, that shall render him the fruit in due season.	41 Dícenle: «A esos miserables les dará una muerte miserable arrendará la viña a otros labradores, que le paguen los frutos a su tiempo».
42 Jesus saith to them: Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes.	42 Y Jesús les dice: «¿No habéis leído nunca en las Escrituras: La piedra que los constructores desecharon, en piedra angular se ha convertido; fue el Señor quien hizo esto y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos?
43 Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof.	43 Por eso os digo: Se os quitará el Reino de Dios para dárselo a un pueblo que rinda sus frutos».
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they knew that he spoke of them.	45 Los sumos sacerdotes y los fariseos, al oír sus parábolas, comprendieron que estaba refiriéndose a ellos.
46 And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet.	46 Y trataban de detenerle, pero tuvieron miedo a la gente porque le tenían por profeta.
