1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:	1 Genealogia de Jesus Cristo, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.
2 Abraham begot Isaac. And Isaac begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Judas and his brethren.	2 Abraão gerou Isaac. Isaac gerou Jacó. Jacó gerou Judá e seus irmãos.
3 And Judas begot Phares and Zara of Thamar. And Phares begot Esron. And Esron begot Aram.	3 Judá gerou, de Tamar, Farés e Zara. Farés gerou Esron. Esron gerou Arão.
4 And Aram begot Aminadab. And Aminadab begot Naasson. And Naasson begot Salmon.	4 Arão gerou Aminadab. Aminadab gerou Naasson. Naasson gerou Salmon.
5 And Salmon begot Booz of Rahab. And Booz begot Obed of Ruth. And Obed begot Jesse.	5 Salmon gerou Booz, de Raab. Booz gerou Obed, de Rute. Obed gerou Jessé. Jessé gerou o rei Davi.
6 And Jesse begot David the king. And David the king begot Solomon, of her that had been the wife of Urias.	6 O rei Davi gerou Salomão, daquela que fora mulher de Urias.
7 And Solomon begot Roboam. And Roboam begot Abia. And Abia begot Asa.	7 Salomão gerou Roboão. Roboão gerou Abias. Abias gerou Asa.
8 And Asa begot Josaphat. And Josaphat begot Joram. And Joram begot Ozias.	8 Asa gerou Josafá. Josafá gerou Jorão. Jorão gerou Ozias.
9 And Ozias begot Joatham. And Joatham begot Achaz. And Achaz begot Ezechias.	9 Ozias gerou Joatão. Joatão gerou Acaz. Acaz gerou Ezequias.
10 And Ezechias begot Manasses. And Manesses begot Amon. And Amon begot Josias.	10 Ezequias gerou Manassés. Manassés gerou Amon. Amon gerou Josias.
11 And Josias begot Jechonias and his brethren in the transmigration of Babylon.	11 Josias gerou Jeconias e seus irmãos, no cativeiro de Babilônia.
12 And after the transmigration of Babylon, Jechonias begot Salathiel. And Salathiel begot Zorobabel.	12 E, depois do cativeiro de Babilônia, Jeconias gerou Salatiel. Salatiel gerou Zorobabel.
13 And Zorobabel begot Abiud. And Abiud begot Eliacim. And Eliacim begot Azor.	13 Zorobabel gerou Abiud. Abiud gerou Eliacim. Eliacim gerou Azor.
14 And Azor begot Sadoc. And Sadoc begot Achim. And Achim begot Eliud.	14 Azor gerou Sadoc. Sadoc gerou Aquim. Aquim gerou Eliud.
15 And Eliud begot Eleazar. And Eleazar begot Mathan. And Mathan begot Jacob.	15 Eliud gerou Eleazar. Eleazar gerou Matã. Matã gerou Jacó.
16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	16 Jacó gerou José, esposo de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, que é chamado Cristo.
17 So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.	17 Portanto, as gerações, desde Abraão até Davi, são quatorze. Desde Davi até o cativeiro de Babilônia, quatorze gerações. E, depois do cativeiro até Cristo, quatorze gerações. Nascimento de Jesus
18 Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.	18 Eis como nasceu Jesus Cristo: Maria, sua mãe, estava desposada com José. Antes de coabitarem, aconteceu que ela concebeu por virtude do Espírito Santo.
19 Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately.	19 José, seu esposo, que era homem de bem, não querendo difamá-la, resolveu rejeitá-la secretamente.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.	20 Enquanto assim pensava, eis que um anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu em sonhos e lhe disse: José, filho de Davi, não temas receber Maria por esposa, pois o que nela foi concebido vem do Espírito Santo.
21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins.	21 Ela dará à luz um filho, a quem porás o nome de Jesus, porque ele salvará o seu povo de seus pecados.
22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying:	22 Tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que o Senhor falou pelo profeta:
23 Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	23 Eis que a Virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, que se chamará Emanuel {Is 7, 14}, que significa: Deus conosco.
24 And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.	24 Despertando, José fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe havia mandado e recebeu em sua casa sua esposa.
25 And he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	25 E, sem que ele a tivesse conhecido, ela deu à luz o seu filho, que recebeu o nome de Jesus.
