1 The words of Amos, who was among herdsmen of Thecua: which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Ozias king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joas king of Israel two years before the earthquake.	1 Die Worte, die Amos, ein Schafzüchter aus Tekoa, in Visionen über Israel gehört hat, in der Zeit, als Usija König von Juda und Jerobeam, der Sohn des Joasch, König von Israel waren, zwei Jahre vor dem Erdbeben.
2 And he said: The Lord will roar from Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the beautiful places of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is withered.	2 Er sprach:Der Herr brüllt vom Zion her, aus Jerusalem lässt er seine Stimme erschallen. Da welken die Auen der Hirten und der Gipfel des Karmel verdorrt.
3 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains.	3 So spricht der Herr: Wegen der drei Verbrechen, die Damaskus beging, wegen der vier nehme ich es nicht zurück:Weil sie Gilead mit eisernen Dreschschlitten zermalmten,
4 And I will send a fire into the house of Azael, and it shall devour the houses of Benadad.	4 darum schicke ich Feuer gegen Hasaëls Haus; es frisst Ben-Hadads Paläste.
5 And I will break the bar of Damascus: and I will cut off the inhabitants from the plain of the idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of pleasure: and the people of Syria shall be carried away to Cyrene, saith the Lord.	5 Ich zerbreche die Riegel von Damaskus, ich vernichte den Herrscher von Bikat-Awen und den Zepterträger von Bet- Eden; das Volk von Aram muss in die Verbannung nach Kir, spricht der Herr.
6 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.	6 So spricht der Herr: Wegen der drei Verbrechen, die Gaza beging, wegen der vier nehme ich es nicht zurück: Weil sie ganze Gebiete entvölkerten, um die Verschleppten an Edom auszuliefern,
7 And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof.	7 darum schicke ich Feuer in Gazas Mauern; es frisst seine Paläste.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Azotus, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ascalon: and I will turn my hand against Accaron, and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.	8 Ich vernichte den Herrscher von Aschdod und den Zepterträger von Aschkelon. Dann wende ich meine Hand gegen Ekron und der Rest der Philister wird verschwinden, spricht der Herr.
9 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren.	9 So spricht der Herr: Wegen der drei Verbrechen, die Tyrus beging, wegen der vier nehme ich es nicht zurück:Weil sie Verschleppte scharenweise an Edom auslieferten und nicht mehr an den Bund mit ihren Brüdern dachten,
10 And I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof.	10 darum schicke ich Feuer in die Mauern von Tyrus; es frisst seine Paläste.
11 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath pursued his brother with the sword, and hath cast off all pity, and hath carried on his fury, and hath kept his wrath to the end.	11 So spricht der Herr: Wegen der drei Verbrechen, die Edom beging, wegen der vier nehme ich es nicht zurück:Weil Edom seinen Bruder mit dem Schwert verfolgte und jedes Mitleid unterdrückte, weil es unversöhnlich festhielt an seinem Zorn und nie abließ von seinem Groll,
12 I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra.	12 schicke ich Feuer gegen Teman; es frisst Bozras Paläste.
13 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath ripped up the women with child of Galaad to enlarge his border.	13 So spricht der Herr: Wegen der drei Verbrechen, die die Ammoniter begingen, wegen der vier nehme ich es nicht zurück: Weil sie in Gilead die schwangeren Frauen aufschlitzten, als sie ihr Gebiet erweitern wollten,
14 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabba: and it shall devour the houses thereof with shouting in the day of battle, and with a whirlwind in the day of trouble.	14 darum lege ich Feuer an die Mauern von Rabba; es frisst seine Paläste beim Kriegsgeschrei am Tag der Schlacht, beim Getöse am Tag des Sturms.
15 And Melchom shall go into captivity, both he, and his princes together, saith the Lord.	15 Ihr König muss in die Verbannung, er und alle seine Großen, spricht der Herr.
