1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse:
2 Say to the children of Israel: The soul that sinneth through ignorance, and doth any thing concerning any of the commandments of the Lord, which he commanded not to be done:	2 “Tu diras ceci aux Israélites: Voici les règles concernant les personnes qui auront péché par erreur contre l’un des commandements de Yahvé, lorsqu’ils auront fait quelque chose qui ne doit pas se faire.
3 If the priest that is anointed shall sin, making the people to offend, he shall offer to the Lord for his sin a calf without blemish.	3 Si c’est le prêtre qui a péché, le peuple aussi est affecté par sa faute. Il offrira donc pour le péché qu’il a commis un jeune taureau sans défaut: ce sera pour Yahvé une victime pour le péché.
4 And he shall bring it to the door of the testimony before the Lord, and shall put his hand upon the head thereof, and shall sacrifice it to the Lord.	4 Il amènera le taureau devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous, devant Yahvé, et il posera sa main sur la tête du taureau; puis il l’égorgera devant Yahvé.
5 He shall take also of the blood of the calf, and carry it into the tabernacle of the testimony.	5 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction prendra du sang du taureau et le portera à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
6 And having dipped his finger in the blood, he shall sprinkle with it seven times before the Lord, before the veil of the sanctuary.	6 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau du sanctuaire.
7 And he shall put some of the same blood upon the horns of the altar of the sweet incense most acceptable to the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the testimony. And he shall pour all the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar of holocaust in the entry of the tabernacle.	7 Le prêtre mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel des parfums qui est devant Yahvé dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il répandra le reste du sang du taureau au pied de l’autel des holocaustes, à l’entrée de la Tente.
8 And he shall take off the fat of the calf for the sin offering, as well that which covereth the entrails, as all the inwards:	8 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau sacrifié pour le péché, la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles et celle qui y est attachée,
9 The two little kidneys, and the caul that is upon them, which is by the hanks, and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys,	9 les deux rognons avec la graisse qui les recouvre et celle qui les entoure, enfin l’enveloppe du foie qu’il détachera près des rognons.
10 As it is taken off from the calf of the sacrifice of peace offerings, and he shall burn them upon the altar of holocaust.	10 Il agira de la même manière que dans les sacrifices de communion: il fera fumer le tout sur l’autel des holocaustes.
11 But the skin and all the flesh with the head and the feet and the bowels and the dung,	11 Mais la peau du taureau, la chair avec la tête, les jambes, les entrailles et les excréments - le taureau tout entier -
12 And the rest of the body he shall carry forth without the camp into a clean place where the ashes are wont to be poured out, and he shall burn them upon a pile of wood, they shall be burnt in the place where the ashes are poured out.	12 on l’emportera hors du camp, à l’endroit où l’on jette les cendres. C’est là qu’il sera brûlé sur un feu de bois.
13 And if all the multitude of Israel shall be ignorant, and through ignorance shall do that which is against the commandment of the Lord,	13 Si toute la communauté des Israélites a péché involontairement, s’ils ont commis sans s’en rendre compte l’une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire,
14 And afterwards shall understand their sin, they shall offer for their sin a calf, and shall bring it to the door of the tabernacle.	14 la communauté offrira, dès qu’elle aura pris conscience du péché qu’elle a commis, un jeune taureau en sacrifice pour le péché. On le conduira devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous,
15 And the ancients of the people shall put their hands upon the head thereof before the Lord. And the calf being immolated in the sight of the Lord,	15 puis les anciens de la communauté poseront leurs mains sur la tête du taureau, devant Yahvé. Là on égorgera le taureau.
16 The priest that is anointed shall carry of the blood into the tabernacle of the testimony.	16 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction portera du sang du taureau à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
17 And shall dip his finger in it and sprinkle it seven times before the veil.	17 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau.
18 And he shall put of the same blood on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord, in the tabernacle of the testimony: and the rest of the blood he shall pour at the foot of the altar of holocaust, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.	18 Il mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel qui est devant Yahvé, dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il versera le reste du sang au pied de l’autel des holocaustes qui se trouve à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
19 And all the fat thereof he shall take off, and shall burn it upon the altar:	19 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau et la fera fumer sur l’autel.
20 Doing so with this calf, as he did also with that before: and the priest praying for them, the Lord will be merciful unto them.	20 Il fera pour ce taureau comme pour le taureau immolé pour le péché du prêtre: on agira de la même façon. Le prêtre fera ainsi le rite d’expiation pour le peuple, et il sera pardonné.
21 But the calf itself he shall carry forth without the camp, and shall burn it as he did the former calf: because it is for the sin of the multitude.	21 Il emportera le taureau hors du camp et le brûlera comme le premier taureau: c’est le sacrifice pour le péché de la communauté.
22 If a prince shall sin, and through ignorance do any one of the things that the law of the Lord forbiddeth,	22 Si un chef a péché, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant par erreur une de ces choses que Yahvé son Dieu a défendu de faire,
23 And afterwards shall come to know his sin, he shall offer a buck goat without blemish, a sacrifice to the Lord.	23 il amènera pour son offrande un bouc mâle sans défaut, dès qu’il se sera rendu compte du péché qu’il a commis.
24 And he shall put his hand upon the head thereof: and when he hath immolated it in the place where the holocaust is wont to be slain before the Lord, because it is for sin,	24 Il posera sa main sur la tête du bouc et l’égorgera à l’endroit où l’on égorge les holocaustes pour Yahvé, car c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.
25 The priest shall dip his finger in the blood of the victim for sin, touching therewith the horns of the altar of holocaust, and pouring out the rest at the foot thereof.	25 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime pour le péché, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes, et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
26 But the fat he shall burn upon it, as is wont to be done with the victims of peace offerings: and the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.	26 Puis il fera fumer toute la graisse sur l’autel, comme on fait pour la graisse des sacrifices de communion. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation du péché pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.
27 And if any one of the people of the land shall sin through ignorance, doing any of those things that by the law of the Lord are forbidden, and offending,	27 Si quelqu’un du peuple du pays a péché par erreur, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire:
28 And shall come to know his sin, he shall offer a she goat without blemish.	28 il amènera comme offrande pour le péché qu’il a commis une chèvre, une femelle sans défaut.
29 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the victim that is for sin, and shall immolate it in the place of the holocaust.	29 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera dans le lieu où l’on offre les holocaustes.
30 And the priest shall take of the blood with his finger, and shall touch the horns of the altar of holocaust, and shall pour out the rest at the foot thereof.	30 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime; il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
31 But taking off all the fat, as is wont to be taken away of the victims of peace offerings, he shall burn it upon the altar, for a sweet savour to the Lord: and he shall pray for him, and it shall be forgiven him.	31 Il enlèvera toute la graisse, comme on le fait dans le sacrifice de communion, et le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel, comme agréable odeur pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.
32 But if he offer of the flock a victim for his sin, to wit, an ewe without blemish:	32 S’il amène une jeune brebis en sacrifice pour le péché, il prendra une femelle sans défaut.
33 He shall put his hand upon the head thereof, and shall immolate it in the place where the victims of holocausts are wont to be slain.	33 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera en sacrifice pour le péché à l’endroit où l’on immole les holocaustes.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and shall touch the horns of the altar of holocaust, and the rest he shall pour out at the foot thereof.	34 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et il versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
35 All the fat also he shall take off, as the fat of the ram that is offered for peace offerings is wont to be taken away: and shall burn it upon the altar, for a burnt sacrifice of the Lord: and he shall pray for him and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.	35 Il enlèvera toute la graisse comme on enlève la graisse de l’agneau dans le sacrifice de communion. Le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel par-dessus les sacrifices par le feu pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, pour le péché qu’il a commis, et cet homme sera pardonné.
