1 Then Tobias called the angel to him, whom he took to be a man, and said to him: Brother Azarias, I pray thee hearken to my words:	1 Allora Tobia, chiamato a sè Vangelo da lui creduto uomo, gli disse: « Fratelo Azaria ascolta, te ne prego, le mie parole.
2 If I should give myself to be thy servant I should not make a worthy return for thy care.	2 Quand'anche mi donassi a te come schiavo, non potrei ri compensare le tue premure.
3 However, I beseech thee, to take with thee beasts and servants, and to go to Gabelus to Rages the city of the Medes: and to restore to him his note of hand, and receive of him the money, and desire him to come to my wedding.	3 Oltre a questo, bisogna che ti scongiuri a prendere teco cavalcature e servi e andare a Rages, città dei Medi, a trovar Gabelo, a rendergli il suo scritto, a ritirar da lui il danaro, a pregarlo che venga alle mie nozze.
4 For thou knowest that my father numbereth the days: and if I stay one day more, his soul will be afflicted.	4 Tu sai bene che mio padre conta i giorni, e che se ritarderò anche un giorno solo, la sua anima s'abbandonerà alla tristezza.
5 And indeed thou seest how Raguel hath adjured me, whose adjuring I cannot despise.	5 D'altra parte tu vedi come Raguele mi ha scongiurato, e che io non posso trascurare le sue istanze ».
6 Then Raphael took four of Raguel's servants, and two camels, and went to Rages the city of the Medes: and finding Gabelus, gave him his note of hand, and received of him all the money.	6 Allora Raffaele, presi quattro servi di Raguele e due cammelli, andò a Rages, città dei Medi, e, trovato Gabelo, gli rese il suo scritto, e ritirò da lui tutto il danaro.
7 And he told him concerning Tobias the son of Tobias, all that had been done: and made him come with him to the wedding.	7 Poi raccontatogli tutto quello ch'era avvenuto al figlio di Tobia, lo fece venire seco alle nozze.
8 And when he was come into Raguel's house he found Tobias sitting at the table: and he leaped up, and they kissed each other: and Gabelus wept, and blessed God,	8 Gabelo, entrato in casa di Raguele, trovò a tavola Tobia, che subito si alzò. Si baciarono l'un l'altro; e Gabelo pianse, benedisse Dio
9 And said: The God of Israel bless thee, because thou art the son of a very good and just man, and that feareth God, and doth almsdeeds:	9 e disse: « Il Dio d'Israele ti benedica, perchè sei figlio d'un uomo ottimo e giusto, che teme Dio e fa elemosine;
10 And may a blessing come upon thy wife and upon your parents.	10 la benedizione si effonda sulla tua moglie e sui vostri genitori.
11 And may you see your children, and your children's children, unto the third and fourth generation: and may your seed be blessed by the God of Israel, who reigneth for ever and ever.	11 Possiate vedere i vostri figli e i figli dei vostri figli sino alla terza e alla quarta generazione; la vostra stirpe sia benedetta dal Dio d'Israele, che regna nei secoli dei secoli ».
12 And when all had said, Amen, they went to the feast: but the marriage feast they celebrated also with the fear of the Lord.	12 Avendo tutti risposto: « Così sia » si posero a mensa; ma il festino nuziale fu fatto nel timore del Signore.
