DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 POI il Signore disse a Mosè: Vattene a Faraone, e digli: Così ha detto il Signore: Lascia andare il mio popolo, acciocchè egli mi serva.	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your hand with your staff, over the rivers, thecanals and the marshland, and bring the frogs up over the land of Egypt." '
2 E se tu ricusi di lasciarlo andare, ecco, io percuoterò con rane tutto il tuo paese.	2 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the landof Egypt.
3 E il fiume produrrà copiosamente rane; le quali saliranno fuori, ed entreranno in casa tua, e nella camera dove tu giaci, e in sul tuo letto, e nelle case dei tuoi servitori, e fra il tuo popolo, e nei tuoi forni, e nelle tue madie.	3 But by their spel s the magicians did the same, bringing frogs over the land of Egypt.
4 E le rane saliranno contro a te, e contro al tuo popolo, e contro a tutti i tuoi servitori.	4 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Entreat Yahweh to take the frogs away from meand my subjects, and I promise to let the people go and sacrifice to Yahweh.'
5 Poi il Signore disse a Mosè: Di’ ad Aaronne: Stendi la tua mano con la tua bacchetta sopra i fiumi, sopra i rivi, e sopra gli stagni, e fanne salir le rane in sul paese di Egitto.	5 Moses said to Pharaoh, 'You are the one to gain by it: when would you like me to pray for you, yourofficials and your subjects, so as to rid you and your houses of the frogs so that they wil be left only in theRiver?'
6 E Aaronne stese la sua mano sopra le acque di Egitto, e le rane salirono, e copersero il paese di Egitto.	6 'Tomorrow,' he said. Moses said, 'It shal be as you say, so that you wil know that there is no one likeYahweh our God.
7 E i Magi di Egitto fecero il simigliante co’ loro incantesimi; e fecero salir rane in sul paese di Egitto.	7 The frogs wil leave you, your houses, your officials and your subjects and wil be left only in the River.'
8 E Faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aaronne, e disse loro: Pregate il Signore che rimuova da me, e dal mio popolo, queste rane; ed io lascerò andare il popolo, acciocchè sacrifichi al Signore.	8 Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, and Moses pleaded with Yahweh about the frogs which hehad inflicted on Pharaoh.
9 E Mosè disse a Faraone: Gloriati pur sopra me; per quando pregherò io il Signore per te, e per i tuoi servitori, e per il tuo popolo, ch’egli stermini le rane d’appresso a te, e dalle tue case, e che rimangano solo nel fiume?	9 Yahweh did as Moses asked, and in house and courtyard and field the frogs died.
10 Ed egli disse: Per domani. E Mosè disse: Sarà fatto secondo la tua parola; acciocchè tu sappi che non vi è alcuno pari all’Iddio nostro.	10 They piled them up in heaps and the country stank.
11 E le rane si partiranno da te, e dalle tue case, e da’ tuoi servitori, e dal tuo popolo; e rimarranno solo nel fiume.	11 But once Pharaoh saw that there had been a respite, he became obstinate and, as Yahweh hadforetold, refused to listen to them.
12 E Mosè ed Aaronne uscirono d’appresso a Faraone. E Mosè gridò al Signore intorno al fatto delle rane, ch’egli avea mandate contro a Faraone.	12 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to Aaron, "Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, andit wil turn into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt." '
13 E il Signore fece secondo la parola di Mosè; e le rane morirono; e le case, e i cortili, e i campi ne furono liberati.	13 Aaron stretched out his hand, with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast; al the dust of the earth turned into mosquitoes throughout the whole of Egypt.
14 E gli Egizj le raccolsero per mucchi, e la terra ne putì.	14 By their spel s the magicians tried to produce mosquitoes in the same way but failed, and there weremosquitoes on man and beast.
15 Ma Faraone, veggendo che vi era dell’alleggerimento, aggravò il suo cuore, e non porse orecchio a Mosè e ad Aaronne, come il Signore ne avea parlato	15 So the magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God.' But Pharaoh was obstinate and, asYahweh had foretold, refused to listen to them.
16 E IL Signore disse a Mosè: Di’ ad Aaronne: Stendi la tua bacchetta, e percuoti la polvere della terra, ed ella diverrà mosconi in tutto il paese di Egitto.	16 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he makes his wayto the water. Say to him, "Yahweh says this: Let my people go and worship me.
17 Ed essi fecero così; e Aaronne stese la sua mano con la sua bacchetta, e percosse la polvere della terra; e una moltitudine di mosconi venne in su gli uomini, e in su gli animali; tutta la polvere della terra divenne mosconi in tutto il paese di Egitto.	17 But if you wil not let my people go, I shal send horseflies on you, on your officials, your subjects andyour houses. The Egyptians' houses wil swarm with horseflies, and so wil the very ground they stand on.
18 E i Magi si adoperarono anch’essi simigliantemente co’ loro incantesimi, per produrre mosconi; ma non poterono. E quella moltitudine di mosconi fu sopra gli uomini, e sopra gli animali.	18 But I shal exempt the region of Goshen, where my people are living, that day; there will be nohorseflies there, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, here in this country.
19 E i Magi dissero a Faraone: Questo è il dito di Dio. Ma il cuor di Faraone s’indurò, e non porse loro orecchio; come il Signore ne avea parlato	19 I shal make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign wil take place tomorrow." '
20 POI il Signore disse a Mosè: Levati da mattina, e presentati davanti a Faraone; ecco, egli uscirà fuori verso l’acqua; e digli: Così ha detto il Signore:	20 Yahweh did this, and great swarms of horseflies found their way into Pharaoh's palace, into hisofficials' houses and al over Egypt; the country was ruined by the horseflies.
21 Lascia andare il mio popolo, acciocchè mi serva. Perciocchè, se tu non lasci andare il mio popolo, ecco, io manderò sopra te, sopra i tuoi servitori, sopra il tuo popolo, e sopra le tue case, una mischia d’insetti; e le case degli Egizj, e la terra sopra la quale abitano, saranno ripiene di quella mischia.	21 Pharaoh then summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Go and sacrifice to your God, inside thecountry.'
22 Ma in quel giorno io lascerò da parte la contrada di Gosen, nella quale sta il mio popolo; talchè non vi sarà alcuna mischia; acciocchè tu conosca che io sono il Signore in mezzo della terra.	22 'That would never do,' Moses said, 'since what we sacrifice to Yahweh our God is outrageous to theEgyptians. If the Egyptians see us offering sacrifices which outrage them, won't they stone us?
23 Ed io metterò una salvaguardia tra il mio popolo e il tuo popolo; domani avverrà questo segno.	23 We shal make a three-days' journey into the desert to sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he has orderedus.'
24 E il Signore fece così; e venne una gran mischia d’insetti nella casa di Faraone, e nelle case de’ suoi servitori; e la terra fu guasta da questa mischia d’insetti per tutto il paese di Egitto.	24 Pharaoh said, 'I wil let you go and sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, provided you do not govery far. Pray for me.'
25 E Faraone chiamò Mosè ed Aaronne, e disse: Andate, sacrificate al vostro Dio nel paese.	25 'The moment I leave you,' Moses said, 'I shal pray to Yahweh. Tomorrow morning the horseflies willeave Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects. But Pharaoh must stop trifling with us by not al owing the people togo and sacrifice to Yahweh.'
26 Ma Mosè disse: E’ non è convenevole di far così; conciossiachè noi abbiamo a sacrificare al Signore Iddio nostro cose, che gli Egizj abbominano di sacrificare; ecco, se noi sacrificassimo davanti agli occhi degli Egizj ciò ch’essi abbominano di sacrificare, non ci lapiderebbero essi?	26 Moses then left Pharaoh's presence and prayed to Yahweh,
27 Lascia che andiamo tre giornate di cammino nel deserto, e noi sacrificheremo al Signore Iddio nostro, secondo ch’egli ci dirà.	27 and Yahweh did as Moses asked; the horseflies left Pharaoh, his officials and his subjects; not oneremained.
28 E Faraone disse: Io vi lascerò andare, acciocchè sacrifichiate al Signore Iddio vostro nel deserto; sol che non andiate più lungi; pregate per me.	28 But Pharaoh became obstinate this time too and did not let the people go.
29 E Mosè disse: Ecco, io esco di presente d’appresso a te, e pregherò il Signore, e la mischia degl’insetti si partirà domani da Faraone, da’ suoi servitori, e dal suo popolo; ma non continui Faraone a farsi beffe, per non lasciare andare il popolo, per sacrificare al Signore.
30 E Mosè uscì fuori d’appresso a Faraone, e pregò il Signore.
31 E il Signore fece secondo la parola di Mosè; e rimosse quella mischia d’insetti da Faraone, da’ suoi servitori, e dal suo popolo; non ve ne restò pur uno.
32 Ma Faraone ancora questa volta aggravò il suo cuore, e non lasciò andare il popolo
