1 Passato il sabato, all'alba del primo giorno della settimana, Maria di Màgdala e l'altra Maria andarono a visitare il sepolcro.	1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.
2 Ed ecco che vi fu un gran terremoto: un angelo del Signore, sceso dal cielo, si accostò, rotolò la pietra e si pose a sedere su di essa.	2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.
3 Il suo aspetto era come la folgore e il suo vestito bianco come la neve.	3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.
4 Per lo spavento che ebbero di lui le guardie tremarono tramortite.	4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.
5 Ma l'angelo disse alle donne: "Non abbiate paura, voi! So che cercate Gesù il crocifisso.	5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 Non è qui. È risorto, come aveva detto; venite a vedere il luogo dove era deposto.	6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,
7 Presto, andate a dire ai suoi discepoli: È risuscitato dai morti, e ora vi precede in Galilea; là lo vedrete. Ecco, io ve l'ho detto".	7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'
8 Abbandonato in fretta il sepolcro, con timore e gioia grande, le donne corsero a dare l'annunzio ai suoi discepoli.	8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.
9 Ed ecco Gesù venne loro incontro dicendo: "Salute a voi". Ed esse, avvicinatesi, gli presero i piedi e lo adorarono.	9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.
10 Allora Gesù disse loro: "Non temete; andate ad annunziare ai miei fratelli che vadano in Galilea e là mi vedranno".	10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'
11 Mentre esse erano per via, alcuni della guardia giunsero in città e annunziarono ai sommi sacerdoti quanto era accaduto.	11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.
12 Questi si riunirono allora con gli anziani e deliberarono di dare una buona somma di denaro ai soldati dicendo:	12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers
13 "Dichiarate: i suoi discepoli sono venuti di notte e l'hanno rubato, mentre noi dormivamo.	13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."
14 E se mai la cosa verrà all'orecchio del governatore noi lo persuaderemo e vi libereremo da ogni noia".	14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'
15 Quelli, preso il denaro, fecero secondo le istruzioni ricevute. Così questa diceria si è divulgata fra i Giudei fino ad oggi.	15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.
16 Gli undici discepoli, intanto, andarono in Galilea, sul monte che Gesù aveva loro fissato.	16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.
17 Quando lo videro, gli si prostrarono innanzi; alcuni però dubitavano.	17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.
18 E Gesù, avvicinatosi, disse loro: "Mi è stato dato ogni potere in cielo e in terra.	18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.
19 Andate dunque e ammaestrate tutte le nazioni, battezzandole nel nome del Padre e del Figlio e dello Spirito santo,	19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,
20 insegnando loro ad osservare tutto ciò che vi ho comandato. Ecco, io sono con voi tutti i giorni, fino alla fine del mondo".	20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'
