Levítico 20

1 Y el Señor dijo a Moisés:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 Tú les dirás a los israelitas: Cualquier hombre entre ustedes, o entre los extranjeros residentes en Israel, que entregue a alguno de sus descendientes a Moloc, será castigado con la muerte: el pueblo del país lo hará morir a pedradas.	2 You shall speak these things to the sons of Israel: A man among the sons Israel, or among the newcomers who live in Israel, if he will have given from his seed to the idol Moloch, he shall be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him.
3 Yo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y lo extirparé de su pueblo, porque él dio un descendiente suyo a Moloc, y así manchó mi Santuario y profanó mi santo Nombre.	3 And I will set my face against him. And I will cut him down from the midst of his people, because he has given from his seed to Moloch, and he has contaminated my Sanctuary, and polluted my holy name.
4 Y si el pueblo del país cierra sus ojos ante ese hombre, cuando él entrega un descendiente suyo a Moloc, y no lo mata,	4 But if the people of the land, having been neglectful and holding little regard for my authority, release the man who has given from his seed to Moloch, and they are not willing to kill him,
5 yo mismo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y su familia, y lo extirparé de su pueblo, junto con todos aquellos que lo sigan, prostituyéndose detrás de Moloc.	5 I will set my face over that man and over his kindred, and I will cut down both him and all who consented with him to fornicate with Moloch, from the midst of their people.
6 Y si una persona consulta a los espíritus de los muertos o a otros espíritus, y se prostituye detrás de ellos, yo volveré mi rostro contra esa persona y la extirparé de su pueblo.	6 The soul who will have turned aside to astrologers and soothsayers, and who will have fornicated with them, I will set my face against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of his people.
7 Ustedes se santificarán y serán santos, porque yo soy el Señor, su Dios.	7 Be sanctified and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.
8 Observarán fielmente mis preceptos, Yo soy el Señor, que los santifico.	8 Observe my precepts, and do them. I am the Lord, who sanctifies you.
9 Si alguien insulta a su padre o a su madre, será castigado con la muerte, él ha insultado a su padre y a su madre, y por eso su propia sangre caerá sobre él.	9 Whoever curses his father or mother shall die a death; he has cursed his father and mother. So let his blood be upon him.
10 Si un hombre comete adulterio con la mujer de su prójimo, los dos serán castigados con la muerte.	10 If anyone will have committed sexual acts with the wife of another, or will have perpetrated adultery with his neighbor’s spouse, they shall die a death, both the adulterer and the adulteress.
11 Si un hombre se acuesta con la mujer de su padre, es como si tuviera relaciones con su propio padre; por eso los dos serán castigados con la muerte, y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.	11 Whoever will have slept with his stepmother, or will have uncovered the shame of his father, they shall both die a death. So let their blood be upon them.
12 Si un hombre se acuesta con su nuera, los dos serán castigados con la muerte; ellos han cometido un incesto, y por eso su sangre caerá sobre ellos.	12 If any man will have slept with his daughter-in-law, both shall die, for they have acted according to wickedness. So let their blood be upon them.
13 Si un hombre se acuesta con otro hombre como si fuera una mujer, los dos cometen una cosa abominable; por eso serán castigados con la muerte y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.	13 If any man has slept with a male in place of sexual intercourse with a female, both have committed a nefarious act, they shall die a death. So let their blood be upon them.
14 Si un hombre se casa con una mujer y con la madre de esta, lo que hace es una depravación: tanto él como ellas serán quemados, para que no haya tal depravación entre ustedes.	14 If any man, having taken the daughter as a wife, will have married her mother, he has acted according to wickedness. He shall be burnt alive with them. Neither shall so great a nefarious act persist in your midst.
15 Si un hombre tiene trato sexual con una bestia, será castigado con la muerte, y también matarán a la bestia.	15 Whoever will have committed sexual acts with any animal or cattle, he shall die a death. Likewise, you shall slay the beast.
16 Si una mujer se acerca a una bestia para unirse con ella, matarán a la mujer y a la bestia: ambas serán castigadas con la muerte y su sangre caerá sobre ellas.	16 The woman who will have lain under any animal at all shall be destroyed together with it. So let their blood be upon them.
17 Si alguien se casa con su hermana –sea hija de su padre o de su madre– de manera que él ve la desnudez de ella, y ella la de él, cometen una ignominia: ambos serán extirpados a la vista de sus compatriotas. Por haber tenido relaciones con su hermana, él deberá cargar con su culpa.	17 Whoever will have taken his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother, and will have seen her nakedness, and she will have looked upon her brother’s shame, they have committed a nefarious act. They shall be slain in the sight of their people, because they have uncovered one another’s nakedness. And they shall bear their iniquity.
18 Si un hombre se acuesta con una mujer en su período menstrual y tiene relaciones con ella, los dos serán extirpados de su pueblo, por él ha puesto al desnudo la fuente del flujo de la mujer y ella la ha descubierto.	18 Whoever has sexual intercourse with a woman in her menstrual flow, and has uncovered her nakedness, and she has opened the fountain of her blood, both shall be destroyed from the midst of their people.
19 No tendrás relaciones con la hermana de tu madre ni con la hermana de tu padre, porque eso sería como tener relaciones con uno mismo: los que lo hagan cargarán con su culpa.	19 You shall not expose the nakedness of your maternal or paternal aunt. Whoever does this has laid bare the shame of his own flesh; both shall bear their iniquity.
20 Si un hombre se acuesta con la mujer de su tío paterno, es como si tuviera relaciones con este último: los que lo hagan cargarán con su culpa y morirán sin tener hijos.	20 If any man has had sexual intercourse with the wife of his paternal or maternal uncle, and he has uncovered the shame of his close relative, both shall bear their sin. They shall die without children.
21 Si un hombre se casa con la mujer de su hermano, lo que hace es una indecencia, porque es como si tuviera relaciones con su hermano: los que lo hagan no tendrán hijos.	21 Whoever will have married his brother’s wife has done an unlawful thing; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They shall be without children.
22 Observen todos mis preceptos y mis leyes, y pónganlos en práctica: entonces no los vomitaré de la tierra adonde yo los haré entrar para que vivan en ella.	22 Observe my laws as well as my judgments, and act according to them, lest the land, into which you will enter and live, may vomit you out, too.
23 No sigan los preceptos de la nación que yo expulsaré delante de ustedes. Precisamente porque ellos hicieron todas estas cosas, yo les tomé repulsión	23 Do not be willing to walk by the ordinances of the nations, which I will expel before you. For they have done all these things, and so I abominate them.
24 y les aseguré a ustedes que poseerían su suelo, esa tierra que mana leche y miel, la tierra que yo les daré en posesión.	24 But I say to you: Possess their land, which I will give to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the other peoples.
25 Por eso ustedes deberán separar los animales puros de los impuros, y los pájaros impuros de los puros. No se hagan abominables a causa de un animal, de un pájaro o de cualquier alimaña que se arrastra por el suelo, porque yo los separé para que a ustedes los consideren impuros.	25 Therefore, you must also separate the clean animals from the unclean, and the clean birds from the unclean. Do not pollute your souls with cattle, or birds, or anything that moves upon the earth, and which I have shown you to be unclean.
26 Ustedes serán santos, porque yo, el Señor, soy santo, y los separé de los otros pueblos, para que me pertenezcan.	26 You shall be holy unto me, because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples, so that you would be mine.
27 El hombre o la mujer que consulten a los muertos o a otros espíritus, serán castigados con la muerte: los matarán a pedradas, y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.	27 A man or a woman, in whom there is an oracle-like or a divining spirit, shall be put to death. They shall stone them. So let their blood be upon them.
