Ezequiel 5

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Tú, hijo de hombre, toma una espada afilada, tómala como navaja de barbero, y pásatela por tu cabeza y tu barba. Luego tomarás una balanza y dividirás en partes lo que hayas cortado.	1 'Son of man, take a sharp sword, use it like a barber's razor and run it over your head and beard. Thentake scales and divide the hair you have cut off.
2 A un tercio le prenderás fuego en medio de la ciudad, al cumplirse los días del asedio. El otro tercio lo tomarás y lo cortarás con la espada todo alrededor de la ciudad. El último tercio lo espacirás al viento, y yo desenvainaré la espada detrás de ellos.	2 Burn one-third inside the city, while the days of the siege are working themselves out. Then takeanother third and chop it up with the sword all round the city. The last third you are to scatter to the wind, while Iunsheathe the sword behind them.
3 Pero de aquí tomarás una pequeña cantidad que recogerás en el vuelo de tu manto,	3 Also take a few hairs and tie them up in the folds of your cloak;
4 y de éstos tomarás todavía un poco, lo echarás en medio del fuego y lo quemarás en él. De ahí saldrá el fuego hacia toda la casa de Israel.	4 and of these again take a few, and throw them on the fire and burn them. From them fire will come onthe whole House of Israel.
5 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Esta es Jerusalén; yo lo había colocado en medio de las naciones, y rodeado de países.	5 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "This is Jerusalem, which I have placed in the middle of the nations,surrounded with foreign countries.
6 Pero ella se ha rebelado contra mis normas con más perversidad que las naciones, y contra mis decretos más que los países que la rodean. Sí, han rechazado mis normas y no se han conducido según mis decretos.	6 She has rebelled more perversely against my observances than the nations have, and against my lawsthan the surrounding countries have; for they have rejected my observances and not kept my laws."
7 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Porque vuestro tumulto es mayor que el de las naciones que os rodean, porque no os habéis conducido según mis decretos ni habéis observado mis normas, y ni siquiera os habéis ajustado a las normas de las naciones que os rodean,	7 'Therefore, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Because your disorders are worse than those of the nationsround you, since you do not keep my laws or respect my observances, and since you do not respect even theobservances of the surrounding nations,
8 por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: También yo me declaro contra ti, ejecutaré mis juicios en medio de ti a los ojos de las naciones,	8 very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: I, too, am against you and shal execute my judgements on youfor the nations to see.
9 y haré contigo lo que jamás he hecho y lo que no volveré a hacer jamás, a causa de todas tus abominaciones.	9 Because of al your loathsome practices I shal do such things as I have never done before, nor shallever do again.
10 Por eso, los padres devorarán a sus hijos, en medio de ti, y los hijos devorarán a sus padres. Yo haré justicia de ti y esparciré lo que quede de ti a todos los vientos.	10 Those of you who are parents wil eat their children, and children wil eat their parents. I shall executejudgement on you and disperse what remains of you to the winds.
11 Por eso, por mi vida, oráculo del Señor Yahveh, que de la misma manera que tú has contaminado mi santuario con todos tus horrores y todas tus abominaciones, yo también te rechazaré a ti sin una mirada de piedad, tampoco yo perdonaré.	11 For, as I live -- declares Lord Yahweh -- as sure as you have defiled my sanctuary with al your horrorsand all your loathsome practices, so I too shal reject you without a glance of pity, I shal not spare you.
12 Un tercio de los tuyos morirá de peste o perecerá de hambre en medio de ti, otro tercio caerá a espada, en tus alrededores, y al otro tercio lo esparciré yo a todos los vientos, desenvainando la espada detrás de ellos.	12 A third of your citizens wil die of plague or starve to death inside you; a third wil fall by the swordround you; and a third I shal scatter to the winds, unsheathing the sword behind them.
13 Mi cólera se desahogará y saciaré en ellos mi furor; me vengaré y sabrán entonces que yo, Yahveh, he hablado en mi celo, cuando desahogue mi furor en ellos.	13 I shal sate my anger and bring my fury to rest on them until I am avenged; and when I have sated myfury on them, then they wil know that I, Yahweh, spoke out of jealousy for you.
14 Y haré de ti una ruina, un oprobio entre las naciones que te rodean, a los ojos de todos los transeúntes.	14 Yes, I shal reduce you to a ruin, an object of derision to the surrounding nations, in the eyes of al whopass by.
15 Serás oprobio y blanco de insultos, ejemplo y asombro para las naciones que te rodean, cuando yo haga justicia de ti con cólera y furor, con furiosos escarmientos. Yo, Yahveh, he hablado.	15 You will be an object of derision and insults, an example, an object of amazement to the surroundingnations, when I execute judgement on you in furious anger and furious punishments. I, Yahweh, have spoken.
16 Cuando lance contra ellos las terribles flechas del hambre, que causan el exterminio, y que yo enviaré para exterminaros, añadiré el hambre contra vosotros, y destruiré vuestras provisiones de pan.	16 On them I shal send the deadly arrows of famine, which wil destroy you -- for I shall send them todestroy you; then I shall make the famine worse and cut off your food supply.
17 Enviaré contra vosotros el hambre y las bestias feroces, que te dejarán sin hijos; la peste y la sangre pasarán por ti, y haré venir contra ti la espada. Yo, Yahveh, he hablado.	17 I shal send famine and wild animals on you to rob you of your children; plague and bloodshed wilsweep through you, and I shal bring the sword down on you. I, Yahweh, have spoken." '
