Ezequiel 15

BIBLIA	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 Hijo de hombre, ¿en qué vale más el leño de la vid que el leño de cualquier rama que haya entre los árboles del bosque?	2 Son of man, what makes the wood of the vine better than any other wood? That branch among the trees of the forest!
3 ¿Se toma de él madera para hacer alguna cosa? ¿Se hace con él un gancho para colgar algún objeto?	3 Can you use its wood to make anything worthwhile? Can you make even a peg from it, to hang on it any kind of vessel?
4 No, se tira al fuego para que lo devore: el fuego devora los dos cabos; el centro está quemado, ¿sirve aún para hacer algo?	4 If you throw it on the fire as fuel and the fire devours both ends and even the middle is scorched, is it still good for anything?
5 Si ya, cuando estaba intacto, no se podía hacer nada con él, ¡cuánto menos, cuando lo ha devorado el fuego y lo ha quemado, se podrá hacer con él alguna cosa!	5 Why, even when it was whole it was good for nothing; how much less, when the fire has devoured and scorched it, can it be used for anything!
6 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Lo mismo que el leño de la vid, entre los árboles del bosque, al cual he arrojado al fuego para que lo devore, así he entregado a los habitantes de Jerusalén.	6 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have destined as fuel for the fire, do I make the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
7 He vuelto mi rostro contra ellos. Han escapado al fuego, pero el fuego los devorará. Y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh, cuando vuelva mi rostro contra ellos.	7 I will set my face against them; they have escaped from the fire, but the fire shall devour them. Thus you shall know that I am the LORD, when I turn my face against them.
8 Convertiré esta tierra en desolación, porque han cometido infidelidad, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.	8 I will make the land a waste, because they have broken faith, says the Lord GOD.
