1 Se acostó Josafat con sus padres y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de David. En su lugar reinó su hijo Joram.	1 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2 Joram tenía seis hermanos, hijos de Josafat, que eran Azarías, Yejiel, Zacarías, Azaryau, Miguel y Sefatías. Todos estos eran hijos de Josafat, rey de Israel.	2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3 Su padre les había hecho grandes donaciones de plata, oro y objetos preciosos, y ciudades fuertes en Judá; pero entregó el reino a Joram, porque era el primogénito.	3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4 Joram tomó posesión del trono de su padre; y cuando se afianzó en él pasó a cuchillo a todos sus hermanos y también a algunos de los jefes de Israel.	4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5 32 años tenía Joram cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalén.	5 Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6 Anduvo por el camino de los reyes de Israel, como había hecho la casa de Ajab, porque se había casado con una mujer de la familia de Ajab, e hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh.	6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.
7 Pero Yahveh no quiso destruir la casa de David, a causa de la alianza que había hecho con David, porque le había prometido que le daría siempre una lámpara a él y a sus hijos.	7 Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8 En sus días se rebeló Edom de bajo la mano de Judá y se proclamaron un rey.	8 In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9 Pasó Joram con sus jefes, y con todos sus carros. Se levantó por la noche y batió a los de Edom que le tenían cercado, a él y a los jefes de los carros.	9 Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10 Así se rebeló Edom de bajo la mano de Judá hasta el día de hoy. Por ese mismo tiempo se rebeló Libná de bajo su mano, porque había abandonado a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres.	10 So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
11 Construyó asimismo altos en los montes de Judá, incitó a la prostitución a los habitantes de Jerusalén y empujó a ella a Judá.	11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12 Le llegó un escrito del profeta Elías, que decía: «Así dice Yahveh, el Dios de tu padre David: Porque no has seguido los caminos de tu padre Josafat, ni los caminos de Asá, rey de Judá,	12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13 sino que has andado por los caminos de los reyes de Israel, y has prostituido a Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén siguiendo las prostituciones de la casa de Ajab, y también porque has dado muerte a tus hermanos de la casa de tu padre que eran mejores que tú;	13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself:
14 he aquí que Yahveh castigará con terrible azote a tu pueblo, tus hijos, tus mujeres y toda tu hacienda;	14 Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15 tú mismo padecerás grandes enfermedades y una dolencia de entrañas tal, que día tras día se te saldrán fuera a causa de la enfermedad».	15 And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16 Excitó Yahveh contra Joram el espíritu de los filisteos y de los árabes, vecinos de los etíopes,	16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17 que subieron contra Judá y lo invadieron llevándose todas las riquezas que hallaron en la casa del rey, y también a sus hijos y a sus mujeres, no dejándole otro hijo que Ocozías, el menor.	17 And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18 Después de todo esto le hirió Yahveh con una enfermedad incurable de vientre.	18 And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19 Y al cabo de cierto tiempo, al fin del año segundo, se le salieron las entrañas a causa de su enfermedad, y murió en medio de terribles dolores. El pueblo no le encendió fuego, como lo había encendido por su padre.	19 And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20 Tenía 32 años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén ocho años. Se fué sin que nadie le llorara; y le sepultaron en la ciudad de David, pero no en los sepulcros de los reyes.	20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
