BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Poi, fratelli che siete partefici di santo chiamamento, considerate Iesù, il pontefice della nostra confessione.	1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.
2 Il quale è fedele a colui che il fece, si com'è Moisè fedele in tutta la sua casa.	2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;
3 Tanto maggiormente Cristo è degno di (maggior) gloria che non è Moisè, quanto maggiormente è onorato quel che fabbrica la casa.	3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.
4 Chè per certo ogni casa è fabbricata da qualche persona; e quel che creò tutte le cose, è Dio.	4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.
5 E Moisè era fedele in tutta la casa di Dio, sì come buono servo, in testimonianza di quelle cose le quali erano da dicere.	5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,
6 Ma Cristo sì come figliuolo nella sua casa (sarà fedele), la qual casa siamo noi, se noi terremo ferma insino alla fine la fiducia e la gloria della speranza.	6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.
7 Per la qual cosa, sì come dice il Spirito Santo: se voi udirete la sua voce oggi,	7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!
8 non indurate li vostri cuori, sì come nella esacerbazione del di della tentazione nel deserto,	8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,
9 là dove li vostri padri mi tentarono, e provarono e vederono le mie opere	9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do
10 per quaranta anni: [per la qual cosa] fui [adirato] con questa generazione, e così dissi: questi sempre errano nel cuore, e non conobbero le mie vie.	10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'
11 Alli quali io giurai nella mia ira, ch' egli non entraranno nella requie mia.	11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.
12 Adunque, fratelli, guardate perchè per la ventura non sia in alcuno di voi cuore malvagio, con volontà di partirsi dalla fede di Dio vivo.	12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.
13 Ma confortate voi medesimi per ciascuno dì, mentre che si ricorda oggi, e non s' induri alcuno di voi con inganno di peccato.	13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,
14 Veramente noi semo fatti partefici di Cristo, sì però che noi riteniamo il cominciamento della sua sostanza insino alla fine,	14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.
15 mentre che si dice: oggi se voi udirete la sua voce, non indurate li vostri cuori, sì come in quella esacerbazione.	15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,
16 Alquanti udendo sì provocorono Dio ad ira, ma non tutti quelli che uscirono dell' Egitto per Moisè.	16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.
17 Dalla quale fu offeso per quaranta anni, anzi a coloro che peccarono nel deserto, le corpora delli quali furono abbattute in terra.	17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.
18 Alli quali giurò, ch' elli non entraranno nella sua requie, se non a quelli che furono duri a credere?	18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.
19 E vedemo che non poterono entrare (nella sua requie) per la loro incredulità.	19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.
