Deuteronomio 26

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Poi che sarai entrato nella terra che Iddio tuo Signore t'avrà data a possedere, e avra' la, (e terra' la), e abitera' vi dentro,	1 'When you have entered the country which Yahweh your God is giving you as heritage, when youhave taken possession of it and are living in it,
2 torrai di tutte le biade tue le prime cose; e sì le metterai nel canestro, e ander?i al luogo il quale Iddio tuo Signore eleggerà, acciò che quivi sia chiamato il suo nome.	2 you must set aside the first-fruits of al the produce of the soil raised by you in your country, given youby Yahweh your God. You must put these in a basket and go to the place where Yahweh your God chooses togive his name a home.
3 E anderai al prete, il quale sarà (in questo dì e) in quello tempo, e sì gli dirai: io confesso oggi dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore, ch' io sono entrato nella terra per la quale Iddio giurò (e promise) a' no stri padri, che la darebbe a noi.	3 You wil go to the priest then in office and say to him, "Today I declare to Yahweh my God that I havereached the country which Yahweh swore to our ancestors that he would give us."
4 E pigliando il prete il canestro delle tue mani, si il porrà dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore in su l'altare.	4 'The priest will then take the basket from your hand and lay it before the altar of Yahweh your God.
5 E sì parlerai dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore,dirai: i Siri (cioè quegl? di Siria) perseguitavano il mio padre, il quale (si partì e) andossene in Egitto; e quivi siccome peregrino stette (e andò con poca gente e) in piccolo numero; e crescette in (moltitu dine di) gente e grande e forte in moltitudine infinita.	5 In the presence of Yahweh your God, you will then pronounce these words: "My father was awandering Aramaean, who went down to Egypt with a smal group of men, and stayed there, until he therebecame a great, powerful and numerous nation.
6 E gli Egizii (cioè quelli d'Egitto) sì ci tormentarono, e sì ci perseguitarono, ponendoci pesi gravissimi (a fare).	6 The Egyptians ill-treated us, they oppressed us and inflicted harsh slavery on us.
7 E noi gridavamo al Signore Iddio de' nostri padri; ed esaudì noi (e li nostri prieghi), e sì ragguardò la nostra umilitade e la fatica e l'angosce nostre.	7 But we called on Yahweh, God of our ancestors. Yahweh heard our voice and saw our misery, our toiland our oppression;
8 E sì ci trasse d'Egitto con la sua mano forte, e col suo braccio potente e robusto, con grande paura e con segni e con (molte) maraviglie.	8 and Yahweh brought us out of Egypt with mighty hand and outstretched arm, with great terror, andwith signs and wonders.
9 E sì ci menò (e mise) in questo luogo; e hacci dato terra la quale mena latte e miele.	9 He brought us here and has given us this country, a country flowing with milk and honey.
10 E per questo beneficio io offerrò tutte le primizie della biada della terra che Iddio m'hae data. E si le lascerai quivi dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore; e adorato Iddio, tuo Signore,	10 Hence, I now bring the first-fruits of the soil that you, Yahweh, have given me." 'You wil then laythem before Yahweh your God, and prostrate yourself in the presence of Yahweh your God.
11 mangerai (e goderai) di tutti quanti i beni, i i quali Iddio tuo Signore t'avrà dati e alla casa tua, tu e i leviti e il forestiere il quale istà teco (e tutta la casa tua).	11 You must then rejoice in al the good things that Yahweh your God has bestowed on you and yourfamily-you, the Levite and the foreigner living with you.
12 Quando tu avrai compiute le decime di tutte quante le biade tue, il terzo anno di tutte le decime dara’ne al prete e al forestiere e al pupillo (cioè ab bandonato) e alla vedova, acciò che mangino dentro dalle porte tue, e si saturino.	12 'In the third year, the tithing year, when you have finished taking the tithe of your whole income andhave given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow so that, in your towns, they may eat to theirheart's content,
13 E parlerai dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore, e dirai: io ho recato (e portato) di casa mia quello ch' io santificai, e sì ne diedi al priete e al forestiere e al pu pillo e alla vedova, siccome mi comandasti; io non ho passato i tuoi comandamenti, nè non mi sono dimenticato della tua signoria;	13 in the presence of Yahweh your God, you must say: "I have cleared my house of what wasconsecrated. Yes, I have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow, in accordance with althe commandments you have imposed on me, neither going beyond your commandments nor neglecting them.
14 nè non mangiai con pianto di queste cose, nè non le puosi (nè misi) con l'altre immonde, nè non ne spesi niente in cosa di morti; io ho ubbidito alla voce di Dio mio Signore, e sì ho fatto tutte quelle cose le quali tu mi comandasti.	14 When in mourning, I have not eaten any of it; when unclean, I have taken none of it away; I havegiven none of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of Yahweh my God and I have behaved in every way asyou have commanded me.
15 (In quel die e in quelli tempi parlò Iddio a Moisè, e Moisè sì parlò a Dio, e disse: Signore Iddio,) ragguarda del tuo luogo santo, e dell' abita zione grande tua e alta dal cielo, e benedici il popolo d'Israel e la terra la quale desti a noi, siccome tu giurasti (e promettesti) a' nostri padri, la terra la quale mena latte e miele.	15 Look down from your holy dwel ing, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the country which you have given us, as you swore to our ancestors, a country flowing with milk and honey." '
16 (Ecco che) Iddio tuo Signore oggi t'ha dato comandamento, che tu (osservi e) facci questi comandamenti e giudicii, acciò che tu guardi e adempii con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l'anima tua.	16 'Yahweh your God commands you today to observe these laws and customs; you must keep andobserve them with al your heart and with al your soul.
17 Oggi hai tu eletto Iddio Signore, acciò che sia Iddio Signore, e vadi nelle sue vie e osservi le sue osservanze e i suoi comandamenti e li suoi giudicii, e ubbedisci alla sua signorìa.	17 'Today you have obtained this declaration from Yahweh: that he wil be your God, but only if youfol ow his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, his customs, and listen to his voice.
18 E (imperciò, ecco che) Iddio hae eletto te oggi, acciò che tu gli sii popolo speciale, siccome egli ti parlo, acciò che tu guardi tutti i suoi comandamenti,	18 And today Yahweh has obtained this declaration from you: that you will be his own people -- as hehas said -- but only if you keep all his commandments;
19 acciò ch' el ti faccia (molto grande e più alto che tutte l'altre genti, le quali egli creò, in nome e in lode della sua gloria, acciò che tu sii popolo santo di Dio tuo Signore, siccome egli ti (par oe e) favelloe.	19 then for praise and renown and honour, he wil raise you higher than every other nation he hasmade, and you wil be a people consecrated to Yahweh, as he has promised.'
