Deuteronomio 21

1 Quando fosse trovato, nella terra la quale Iddio tuo Signore ti dee dare, corpo di uomo morto, e non si sappi il reo della uccisione,	1 If one be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:
2 sì usciranno quelli maggiori di nazione, e tuoi giudici, fuori; e sì misureranno, di quello luogo dov'è il corpo morto, gli spazii di tutte le cittadi che sono dintorno.	2 Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:
3 E quella che troveranno più presso al corpo morto, si torranno i più (antichi e) vecchi di quella cittade una vitella della greggia, la quale mai non abbia tratto (nè menato) giogo, e che non hae lavorata la terra (e adoperata non sia) col gomiero,	3 And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;
4 e sì la meneranno ad una valle aspera e (spinosa) piena di molti sassi (e assai pietre), la quale non mai sia stata seminata ne arata; e quivi (in quello così fatto luogo) uccideranno la vitella, e poi gli taglieranno il capo suo.	4 And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley:
5 Poi sì anderanno (i preti) colà i figliuoli di Levi, il quale Iddio tuo Signore hae eletti, che a lui (servano e) ministrino; e si la benedicano (cioè la detta vitella morta) nel suo nome (cioè di Dio); e alla loro parola istarà ogni cosa e ogni fatto (cioè de' preti sopradetti ciò che diranno e faranno) acciò che quello che è immondo o mondo (per loro) sia giudicato.	5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
6 E poi vengano i maggiori (e più nobili) di quella cittade al corpo il quale è stato morto; e la veranno le loro mani sopra la vitella, la quale è stata morta nella valle (sopra scritta);	6 And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:
7 e diranno: le nostre mani non isparsero questo sangue, nè gli occhi nostri il vidono.	7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
8 Signore, perdona al popolo tuo Israel, acciò che sia tolto da lui, e che si trovi colui il quale il fece, e sia punito; e sarà tolta da loro la obliga zione della pena.	8 Be merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
9 E tu sarai innocente del sangue dello inno cente, che (crudelmente) è isparto, quando tu averai fatto quello che Iddio t'hae comandato.	9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.
10 E se tu uscirai fuori (o sarai uscito) alla battaglia contro a' tuoi nemici, e il tuo Signore te gli avrà dati (per vittoria e messi) nelle tue mani e avra'gli menati per pregioni;	10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,
11 e poi vederai tu tra quelli pregioni una bella femina, e sì l'amerai (e vorra?le bene) e vorra’ la tu avere per moglie;	11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;
12 menera’ la in casa tua, ed ella sì raderà i capegli, e si mozzerà [i capegli ], e taglierà l'unghie intorno intorno;	12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
13 e trarrassi li vestimenti co' quali è istata presa; e poi sedendo nella casa tua, sì piangerà il padre e la madre sua in uno mese; e dopo questo anderai a lei, e tu dormirai con lei, e sarà (poi) tua moglie.	13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
14 E se, dopo questo fatto, ella non ti piacerà all'animo tuo, lascera’la partire libera; e non la potrai vendere per denari, nè isforzarla per più potere; perciò che tu l'hai umiliata (cioè giaciuto con lei).	14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.
15 E se l'uomo avrà due mogli, e l'una amerà, e l'altra avrà in odio, ed esso avrà generati (due) figliuoli di lei (cioè di quella ch' egli hae in odio), e sarà il figliuolo primogenito di quella ch' egli hae in odio;	15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:
16 e questo uomo vorrà dividere i suoi beni intra i suoi figliuoli (dando a ciascuno la parte sua), egli non potrà fare, il figliuolo di quella ch' ama sia primogenito, e porlo innanzi a quello che è il figliuolo di quella che hae in odio;	16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:
17 ma terrà (e averà) per primogenito il figliuolo di quella che hae in odio; e sì gli darà, di tutte le cose che avrà, ogni cosa doppia; imperciò che questo si è il principio di tutti quanti i suoi figliuoli, e questi dee avere (e conviensegli) le primogenite (e le prime cose).	17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
18 E se l'uomo genererà (e farà) uno figliuolo contumace e protervo, il quale non oda (la corre zione nè) il comandamento del suo padre nè della sua madre; e poi che sarà corretto, e' non sarà obbediente (, e pure disprezzerà ogni cosa);	18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
19 il padre e la madre sì piglieranno e mene ronnolo (agli antichi e) a' più vecchi della cittade, alle porte ove (e nel qual luogo) si tiene il giudicio (e la ragione);	19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20 e sì diranno loro: questo nostro figliuolo sì è protervo (e disobbediente) e contumace, e i nostri ammonimenti (e correzioni) non vuole udire, e dàssi (a carnalitade e pure) ad inebriare, e tutto die istà a conviti e in lascivie.	20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21 (Dico ch' esso sia preso, e) tutto il popolo sì il lapidi, e si muoia, acciò che voi cacciate questo male del mezzo di voi, e questo udendo i figliuoli d'Israel abbiano paura.	21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
22 Quando l'uomo (incomincerà e) farà uno peccato, per lo quale esso dee essere morto, (e sen tenziato) e giudicato alla morte; e sarà posto in su la croce in su il tormento;	22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
23 guarda che non stia il suo corpo morto in sul legno (dov'è istato appiccato); ma in quello die medesimo sia (ispiccato e) sotterrato; imperciò che egli sia da Dio maledetto (e specialmente) chi istà appiccato in su il legno; guarda che la tua terra non contamini (cioè sotterrandovi colui il quale di sopra contai), la quale terra Iddio tuo Signore t'abbia data in possessione.	23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
