1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè e ad Aaron, e disse loro:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 Tollete la gente de' figliuoli di Caat di mezzo del popolo Levitico, per tutte le case e per tutte le famiglie sue,	2 'Take a census by clans and families of the Levites descended from Kohath:
3 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta, acciò che loro siano e servano nel tabernacolo.	3 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age and eligible for military service, who will have theirduties in the Tent of Meeting.
4 E questa è la operazione che faranno i figliuoli di Caat: nel tabernacolo del patto, e (in quella parte dentro che si chiama) SANCTA SANCTORUM,	4 'These are the duties of the Kohathites: looking after those things that are especial y holy.
5 entreranno Aaron e li figliuoli suoi; e quando i castelli (si moveranno e) saranno da muovere, sì piglieranno quello velo dinanzi alla porta del tabernacolo, e volgerannovi dentro l'arca della testimonianza.	5 'When camp is broken, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the screening curtain, and coverthe ark of the Testimony with it.
6 E di sopra sì porteranno un altro copritore di pelle verde; e questo pallio distenderanno sopra per tutto, e palperanno le serrature.	6 Over this, they will put a covering of fine leather, over which they wil spread a cloth entirely of violet-purple. They wil then fix the poles to the ark.
7 La mensa della proposizione sì la copriranno di questo pallio verde; e suso vi porranno i turiboli ei mortarioli e i bicchieri, e le tazze piene d'acqua in abbondanza; il pane sempre vi sarà suso.	7 'Over the offertory table they wil spread a violet cloth, and on it put the dishes, cups, bowls and libationjars; the bread of permanent offering will also be on it.
8 Poi porranno di sopra uno drappo verde; e sopra a questo porranno lo copritore di cuoio verde; e dopo introduceranno le stanghe (da chiudere).	8 Over these they will spread a scarlet cloth and cover the whole with a covering of fine leather. They willthen fix the poles to the table.
9 E torranno e copriranno lo candeliere e le lucerne e le forfici sue e li purgatori (e i loro manichi) e tutti i vasi che s'adoperano ad olio, con ciò che s'adoperano a tenere le lucerne, con uno pallio verde di sopra.	9 'They wil then take a violet cloth and cover the lamp-stand, its lamps, snuffers, trays and al the oil jars used for it,
10 E poi sopra tutto porranno uno copritore di cuoio verde; ed entro porranno le stanghe (da chiudere).	10 and wil lay it and al its accessories in a covering of fine leather and put it on the litter.
11 E involgeranno lo altare d'oro con uno pallio verde; e di sopra estenderanno uno copritore di cuoio verde, e porranno le serrature.	11 'Over the golden altar they wil spread a violet cloth, and cover that with a covering of fine leather.They wil then fix the poles to it.
12 E tutti li vasi che si adoperano nel santuario copriranno di uno pallio verde; e di sopra estenderanno uno copritore di cuoio verde, e porranvi le serrature.	12 'They wil then take al the other objects used in the service of the sanctuary, put them in a violetcloth, with a covering of fine leather, and put it al on the litter.
13 L'altare netteranno colla cenere, e invol gerannolo di vestimento di rosato.	13 'When they have removed the ashes from the altar, they wil spread a scarlet cloth over it,
14 E porranno in esso tutti i vasi che s'adoperano ad altare (cioè che siano per suo uso) cioè da tenere fuoco, le fuscinule, lo tridente (cioè uno istrumento che ha tre denti) gli uncini e li vasi del fuoco; e tutti i vasi che s'adoperano all'altare saranno coperti di cuoio verde; e (di sopra) porranno la serratura.	14 and on this place all the objects used in the liturgy, the fire pans, hooks, scoops, sprinkling basins andal the altar accessories. Over this they will spread a covering of fine leather. They wil then fix the poles to it.
15 E quando Aaron e li suoi figliuoli avranno (in presenza del popolo tutte queste cose coperte, e) involto il santuario e tutti li suoi vasi nel levar de' loggiamenti, entreranno i figliuoli di Caat (nel santuario),. e porteranno tutte queste cose avvolte; e non ne toccassero alcuna, se non involta, però che incontanente morrebbeno. Questo è l'ufficio che avranno i figliuoli di Caat nel tabernacolo (santo) del patto.	15 'Once Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things and all their accessories at thebreaking of camp, the Kohathites wil come and carry them, but without touching any of the holy things on pain ofdeath. Such is the load for the Kohathites in the Tent of Meeting.
16 E sopra loro sarà Eleazar, figliuolo di Aaron sacerdote, a cui sta la cura dell' olio per mettere nelle lucerne, e di porre l'incenso, e dello sacrificio che sempre si offerirà, e d'ogni unzione che si fa d'olio, e d'ogni cosa che s'appartiene all'officio del tabernacolo, e di tutti i vasi che sono nel santuario.	16 But Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, is responsible for looking after the oil for the light, the fragrantincense, the daily cereal offering and the anointing oil, and for supervising the entire Dwel ing and everything init, the holy things and their accessories.'
17 Parlò Iddio a Moisè e ad Aaron, dicendo:	17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
18 Non vogliate fare morire li figliuoli di Caat del mezzo de' figliuoli de' Leviti.	18 'You must not let the group of Kohathite clans be lost to the rest of the Levites.
19 Ma, acciò che vivano, fate loro questo, se loro entreranno per toccare queste cose in SANCTA SANCTORUM: Aaron e i figliuoli suoi entreranno dentro, e daranno loro a ciascheduno lo suo officio, di videndo quello che debbono portare (ad ogni uomo la sua parte).	19 But deal with them in this way, so that they may survive and not incur death by approaching thosethings that are especial y holy. Aaron and his sons wil go in and assign to each of them his task and load,
20 E se, innanzi che siano vestiti, niuno ne toccasse, incontanente morrebbe.)	20 in such a way that they have no need to incur the death penalty by going in and setting eyes on theholy things, even for an instant.'
21 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e disse:	21 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
22 Togli anco la somma della gente di Gerson, per tutte le case e famiglie, e per tutte le loro cognazioni,	22 'Take a census of the Gershonites by families and clans, too:
23 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta; annumerali tutti quegli che entreranno in questo tempio) e amministreranno nel tabernacolo del patto.	23 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, who will have their dutiesin the Tent of Meeting.
24 Questo sarà l'ufficio della gente Gersonita,	24 'These are the duties of the Gershonite clans, their functions and their loads.
25 di portare le cortine del tabernacolo (santo) e lo tetto e tutto lo coprimento, e sopra tutto questo lo velo di giacinto, e quello coprimento che istà dinanzi al tabernacolo del patto,	25 They wil carry the curtaining of the Dwel ing, the Tent of Meeting with its covering and the covering offine leather that goes over it, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,
26 e le cortine dell' antiporta, e il velo che è nella entrata dinanzi al tabernacolo, e tutte le cose e tutte le funi che appartengono all'altare, e tutti li vasi che appartengono a quelli mistieri.	26 the curtaining of the court, the screen for the entrance to the court surrounding the Dwel ing and thealtar, the cords, al the accessories for worship, and al the necessary equipment. 'They wil be responsible forthese things.
27 E quando Aaron e li figliuoli suoi lo diranno, (che portino queste cose) sì le porteranno; ciascheduno all'officio suo, portando quello che gli sarà dato.	27 Al the duties of the Gershonites, their functions and their loads, will be carried out under the directionof Aaron and his sons: you wil see that they fulfil their charge.
28 E questo è l'ufficio della famiglia di Gerson nel tabernacolo del patto; e costoro saranno sotto Itamar figliuolo d'Aaron sacerdote.	28 Such are the duties of the Gershonite clans in the Tent of Meeting. Their work wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.
29 E i figliuoli di Merari piglierai, per tutte le case e famiglie de padri loro,	29 'You will take a census of the Merarites by clans and families.
30 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta, e tutti quelli che entreranno a servire nel tabernacolo.	30 You will take a census of al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service,who wil have their duties in the Tent of Meeting.
31 L' officio loro sarà questo: che loro porte ranno le tavole del tabernacolo,	31 'The load they carry and the duties incumbent on them in the Tent of Meeting will be as fol ows: theframework of the Dwel ing, its cross-bars, poles and sockets,
32 le colonne e i capitelli, e le cornici e le cavichie, e le funi con che sono legati; tutti li vasi e la massarizia torranno per numero, e sì le porteranno.	32 the poles round the court with their sockets, pegs, cords and al their tackle. You wil draw up a list oftheir names with the loads for which each is responsible.
33 E in questo si è l'ufficio della famiglia dei Meraritari nel tabernacolo del patto. Costoro saranno sotto Itamar, figliuolo d'Aaron sacerdote.	33 'Such are the duties of the Merarite clans. Al their duties in the Tent of Meeting wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.'
34 Numerarono Moisè e Aaron, e i principi. i delle sinagoghe, i figliuoli di Caat, per tutte le co gnazioni e case loro,	34 Moses, Aaron and the leaders of the community took a census of the Kohathites by clans andfamilies:
35 da XXX anni in suso, insino a cinquanta, tutti coloro che furono messi al servigio del tabernacolo del patto.	35 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent ofMeeting.
36 Furono duomilia settecento cinquanta.	36 The number of men counted in their clans came to two thousand seven hundred and fifty.
37 Questo si è il numero del popolo di Caat, il quale popolo entroe al servizio del tabernacolo del patto; questi numerarono Moisè e Aaron, secondo che Iddio comandò a Moisè.	37 Such was the total number of men in the Kohathite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding through Moses.
38 E i figliuoli di Gerson sono annumerati, per tutte le loro case e cognazioni,	38 A census was taken of the Gershonites by clans and families:
39 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta; tutti quelli che entravano, e che servivano nel tabernacolo,	39 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent ofMeeting.
40 furono duomilia secentotrenta.	40 The number of men counted in their clans and families came to two thousand six hundred and thirty.
41 Questo si è il popolo de' Gersoniti, che annumerò Moisè e Aaron secondo il comandamento di Dio.	41 Such was the total number of men in the Gershonite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting, and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding.
42 E quelli di Merari, per tutte le case e co gnazioni delli padri loro,	42 A census was taken of the Merarite clans by clans and families:
43 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta, tutti coloro che entrarono al servigio del tabernacolo del patto,	43 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent of Meeting.
44 furono tre milia ducento.	44 The number of men counted in their clans came to three thousand two hundred.
45 E questo è il numero dei figliuoli di Merari, i quali annumerò Moisè e Aaron, secondo il comandamento di Dio.	45 Such was the total number of men in the Merarite clans, whom Moses and Aaron counted atYahweh's bidding through Moses.
46 Tutti quelli che fur numerati de' Leviti, e quelli che [numerar] fece al nome Moisè ed Aaron, case e li principi d'Israel per le cognazioni ede' padri loro,	46 The total number of Levites whom Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel counted in their clans andfamilies,
47 da XXX anni insino a cinquanta, che entra vano al ministerio del tabernacolo, e a portar li pesi,	47 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for religious duties and for those oftransporting the Tent of Meeting
48 furono tutti otto milia cinquecento ottanta.	48 came to eight thousand five hundred and eighty.
49 E Moisè li numerò, secondo il comandamento di Dio, ciascuno secondo l'ufficio suo e la fatica sua, come Iddio gli avea comandato.	49 At Yahweh's bidding through Moses, a census was taken of them and each man was assigned hisduty and load. And so the census was conducted by Moses as Yahweh had ordered him.
