Osea 9

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Non ti rallegrare, Israel, e non ti esaltare (cioè non insuperbire) sì come hanno fatto li popoli; però che tu hai commesso fornicazione contro allo tuo Iddio; tu amasti la mercede (cioè lo prezzo) sopra tutte le aje del grano.	1 No merrymaking, Israel, for you, no rejoicing like other peoples, for you have deserted your God to playthe whore, you have loved the fee of prostitution on every threshing-floor.
2 L' aja e lo canale non li pascerà, e lo vino non risponderà come deve.	2 The threshing-floor and wine-press will not feed them; they will be disappointed of new wine.
3 E non abiteranno nella terra di Dio; ed Efraim ritornò in Egitto, e mangiò la cosa corrotta tra quelli di Siria.	3 No more wil they live in Yahweh's country; Ephraim will have to go back to Egypt, and eat polluted foodin Assyria.
4 E loro non faranno sacrificio del vino a Dio, e non piaceranno a lui; li loro sacrificii saranno come pane di pianto; e [quelli che lo mangeranno] saranno contaminati; però che lo loro pane si è l'anime loro, e non entreranno nella casa del Signore.	4 No more wil they pour libations of wine to Yahweh, and their sacrifices will not win his favour but will belike funeral fare for them: whoever eats them wil be pol uted; for their food wil be for themselves alone, notbeing offered in Yahweh's home.
5 Che farete voi nel dì solenne, nel dì della festività del Signore?	5 What wil you do on the solemn feast-day, on the day of Yahweh's festival?
6 Ecco che sono andati dal guasto; ed Egitto li radunerà; Menfi (cioè una terra) li seppellirà; lo desiderio del loro argento sì erediterà l' ortica; l'erba spinosa abiterà nelli loro tabernacoli.	6 What a scene of devastastion they have left! Egypt wil round them up, Memphis will bury them, nettleswil inherit their fields and thorn-bushes invade their homesteads.
7 Li di della loro visitazione sono venuti, e sono venuti li dì della loro retribuzione; sappiate (e conoscete), voi d' Israel, lo pazzo profeta, e lo pazzo uomo spirituale, per la moltitudine della tua malvagitade e per la moltitudine della tua mattezza.	7 The days of punishment have come, the days of retribution are here; Israel knows it! 'The prophet ismad and the inspired man a fool!' Great has been your guilt- al the greater then the hostility!
8 Lo speculatore (cioè lo guardiano) di Efraim con lo mio Iddio; [lo] profeta èssi fatto lacciuolo di rovina sopra tutte le vie sue, insania nella casa di Dio.	8 The watchman of Ephraim is with my God: it is the prophet- and a fowler's trap is placed on al hispaths; and in the shrine of his God there is enmity towards him.
9 E loro peccarono profondamente, come nel die di Gabaa; egli si ricorderà delle loro malvagitadi, e visiterà li loro peccati.	9 They have become deeply corrupt as in the days of Gibeah; he will remember their guilt, he wil punishtheir sins.
10 E io trovai Israel fatto come le uve del deserto; e quasi come li primi pomi del fico nella sua sommità vidi li padri loro; e loro entrarono a Beelfegor, e sono fatti istranieri nella loro confusione, e sono fatti abominabili, come le cose ch' egli amarono.	10 It was like finding grapes in the desert when I found Israel, like seeing early fruit on a fig tree when Isaw your ancestors; but when they reached Baal-Peor they devoted themselves to Shame and became asloathsome as the thing they loved.
11 Ed Efraim volò come un uccello, e la loro gloria appario dal ventre, dal parto e dal generamento.	11 The glory of Ephraim wil fly away like a bird: no giving birth, no pregnancy, no conceiving.
12 E se averà nutricato li figliuoli suoi, io li farò sanza figliuoli tra li uomini; ma guai a loro, quando io sarò partito da loro!	12 If they rear their children, I shal take them away before they grow up! Woe to them indeed when Ileave them!
13 Efraim, che vidi, Tiro (che) era fondato in (tanta) bellezza; Efraim menerà i suoi figliuoli alli ucciditori.	13 Ephraim looked to me like Tyre, planted in a meadow, so Ephraim will present his children to theslaughterer.
14 O Signore dà loro. Or che darai loro? Dà loro la vulva sanza figliuoli, e le loro poppe siano secche di latte.	14 Give them, Yahweh- what are you to give? - give them wombs that miscarry and dried-up breasts.
15 Tutte le loro malvagitadi in Galgal, però ch' io li ebbi in odio; per la malizia delli loro trovamenti io li caccerò della casa mia; e non aggiugnerò più oggimai ch' io ponga loro amore; tutti li loro principi si partiano da me.	15 Their wickedness appeared in ful at Gilgal, there I came to hate them. Because of the wickedness oftheir deeds I shall drive them from my home, I shal love them no longer; all their princes are rebels.
16 Efraim è percosso, e la loro radice è diseccata, e non farà più frutto. E se genereranno, io ucciderò quelli che ameranno del ventre loro.	16 Ephraim is blasted, their root has dried out, they wil bear no more fruit. And even if they do bearchildren I shal slaughter the darlings of their womb.
17 E lo mio Signore Iddio iscaccerà quelli, però che non (udirono nè) ascoltarono lui ( ch' è Signore sommo e vero); e saranno spartiti nelle nazioni.	17 Because they have not listened to him, my God wil cast them off and they wil become wanderersamong the nations.
