1 Fece Iosia in Ierusalem fase al Signore, il quale fece il XIIII dì del primo mese.	1 Now Josiah kept the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and it was immolated on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2 E ordinò i sacerdoti negli officii loro, e confortogli che ministrassero nella casa del Signore.	2 And he appointed the priests in their offices, and he exhorted them to minister in the house of the Lord.
3 E a' Leviti, alla monizione dei quali tutto il popolo si santificava, disse: ponete l'arca nel santuario del tempio, il quale edificoe Salomone figliuolo di David re d' Israel, però che voi non la porterete più: ora ministrate al vostro Signore Iddio, e al suo popolo d'Israel.	3 Also, he spoke with the Levites, by whose instruction all of Israel was sanctified to the Lord, saying: “Place the ark in the sanctuary of the temple, which Solomon, the son of David, the king of Israel, built. For never again shall you carry it. Instead, now you shall minister to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.
4 E apparecchiatevi per case e per cognazioni di ciascuno, sì come comandò David re d' Israel, e Salomone suo figliuolo descrisse.	4 And prepare yourselves by your houses and families, within each division, just as David, the king of Israel, instructed, and just as his son Solomon has written.
5 Onde ministrate nel suo santuario per famiglie e compagnie Levitiche.	5 And minister in the sanctuary, by the Levitical families and companies.
6 E santificati offerite il fase; e apparecchiate che i vostri fratelli possano fare secondo le parole che disse il Signore per mano di Moisè.	6 And having been sanctified, immolate the Passover. And then prepare your brothers, so that they may be able to act in accord with the words which the Lord has spoken by the hand of Moses.”
7 E anco diede Iosia a tutto il popolo, il quale s' era ritrovato ivi alla solennità del fase, agnelli e capretti del gregge e altro bestiame XXX milia, e buoi tremilia; e questo fu della propria sostanza del re.	7 After this, Josiah gave to all the people, those who had been found there at the solemnity of the Passover, thirty thousand lambs and young goats from the flocks, and other kinds of small cattle, and also three thousand oxen. All these were from the substance of the king.
8 E i suoi duchi diedono al popolo e a' sacerdoti e a' Leviti quello che di loro volontà volsero dare. Elcia e Zacaria e Iaiel, prìncipi della casa di Dio, diedero ai sacerdoti, per fare il fase due milia secento pecore mescolatamente, e CCC buoi.	8 Also, his rulers offered what they had vowed freely, as much for the people as for the priests and Levites. Moreover, Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, rulers of the house of the Lord, gave to the priests, in order to observe the Passover, two thousand six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.
9 E Conenia e Semeia e Natanael, suoi fratelli, e Asabia e Ieiel e Iosabat, principi de' Leviti, diedono a tutti gli altri Leviti, a celebrare il fase, V milia bestie, e buoi cinquecento.	9 And Conaniah, with Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, indeed also Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, gave to the rest of the Levites, in order to celebrate the Passover, five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10 E fu apparecchiato il ministerio, e istettero i sacerdoti nello officio suo; e i Leviti per compagnie, secondo il comandamento del re.	10 And the ministry was prepared. And the priests stood in their office, and the Levites also stood in their companies, according to the order of the king.
11 E fu fatto il fase; e i sacerdoti bagnarono le mani sue nel sangue, e i Leviti iscorticarono gli animali per lo olocausto.	11 And the Passover was immolated. And the priests sprinkled the blood with their hand, and the Levites drew away the pelts of the holocausts.
12 E partironli per darli per le case e per le famiglie di ciascuno, acciò che li offerissono al Signore, secondo che è scritto nel libro di Moisè; e de' buoi feciono il simigliante.	12 And they put these aside, so that they might give them to each one, by their houses and families, and so that they might be offered to the Lord, just as it was written in the book of Moses. And with the oxen, they acted similarly.
13 E arrostirono il fase sopra il fuoco, sì come era comandato per la legge; e l' ostie pacifiche cossono nelle caldaie e nelle pentole e nei laveggi, e spacciatamente le distribuirono a tutto il popolo.	13 And they roasted the Passover above fire, in accord with what was written in the law. Yet truly, the victims of peace offerings they boiled in cauldrons and kettles and pots. And they promptly distributed these to all the common people.
14 E a sè e a' sacerdoti apparecchiarono poi; però che nel dì degli olocausti e del grasso i sacerdoti furono occupati insino a notte; onde che i Leviti a sè, e a' sacerdoti figliuoli di Aaron, apparecchiarono ultimamente.	14 Then afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests. Indeed, the priests had been occupied in the oblations of the holocausts and the fat offerings, even until night. Therefore, the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron, last.
15 E cantatori figliuoli di Asaf istavano nell' ordine loro, secondo il comandamento di David e di Asaf e di Eman e di Iditun profeti del re; e' portieri guardavano a ciascuna porta, sì che non si partiano punto dal ministerio; per la qual cosa i loro fratelli Leviti sì gli apparecchiarono il cibo.	15 Now the singers, the sons of Asaph, were standing in their order, according to the instruction of David, and of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, the prophets of the king. Truly, the porters kept watch at each gate, so as not to depart from their ministry even for one moment. And for this reason, their brothers, the Levites, prepared foods for them.
16 E così tutto il comandamento del Signore fu in quel dì ragionevolmente fornito, per fare il fase e offerire li olocausti sopra l'altare del Signore, secondo il comandamento di Iosia re.	16 And so, the entire worship ritual of the Lord was completed on that day, so that they observed the Passover and offered holocausts upon the altar of the Lord, in accord with the precept of king Josiah.
17 Onde fecero i figliuoli d' Israel, i quali si trovarono ivi, il fase in quel tempo, e solennità d'azimi sette giorni.	17 And the sons of Israel, who had been found there, kept the Passover at that time, with the solemnity of unleavened bread, for seven days.
18 E non [fu] somigliante fase a questo in Israel dal die di Samuel profeta; nè anche veruno re d'Israel fece fase a' sacerdoti e a' Leviti e a tutto Giuda e Israel, il quale si trovò, e agli abitatori di Ierusalem, sì come fece Iosia.	18 There was no Passover similar to this one in Israel, from the days of Samuel the prophet. And neither did anyone, out of all the kings of Israel, keep such a Passover as did Josiah, the priests and Levites, and all those of Judah and Israel who had been found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
19 L'ottavo decimo anno del regno suo fu celebrato questo fase.	19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, this Passover was celebrated.
20 E dappoi che Iosia ebbe racconcio il tempio, Necao re d'Egitto andò in Carcamis a combattere presso all' Eufrate; e Iosia gli andò incontro.	20 After Josiah had repaired the temple, Neco, the king of Egypt, ascended to fight at Carchemish, beside the Euphrates. And Josiah went out to meet him.
21 E questo, mandati a lui messaggi, disse: re di Giuda, ch' è a me e a te? Io non vengo oggi contra te, ma io combatto contro ad altra casa, alla quale Iddio m' ha comandato ch' io vada tosto; rimanti di fare contro a Dio, il quale è meco, acciò ch' egli non t'uccida.	21 But he sent messengers to him, saying: “What is there between me and you, O king of Judah? I have not come against you today. Instead, I am fighting against another house, to which God instructed me to go promptly. Refrain from acting against God, who is with me, otherwise he may kill you.”
22 E Iosia non volse ritornarsi; anzi apparecchiò la battaglia contra di lui, e non consentì alle parole di Necao per la bocca di Dio; anzi andò a combattere al campo di Mageddo.	22 Josiah was not willing to return. Instead, he prepared for war against him. Neither would he agree to the words of Neco from the mouth of God. In truth, he traveled so that he might do battle in the field of Megiddo.
23 E ivi, ferito dai balestrieri, disse a' suoi scudieri: traetemi della battaglia nella terra, però ch' io sono ferito.	23 And there, having been wounded by archers, he said to his servants: “Lead me away from the battle. For I have been severely wounded.”
24 I quali il levarono da uno carro, e puoserlo in uno altro il quale gli andava dietro a modo regale, e portaronlo in Ierusalem; e morì, e fu seppellito nel sepolcro de' suoi padri; e tutto Giuda e Ierusalem il piansero,	24 And they took him from the chariot, into another chariot which was following him, as was the custom of kings. And they transported him to Jerusalem. And he died, and he was buried in the mausoleum of his fathers. And all of Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him,
25 e massimamente Ieremia; del quale tutti i cantatori e le cantatrici ripetono le lamentazioni insino nel presente di sopra Iosia, e fu fatto quasi legge in Israel. Ed ecco che si dice nelle lamentazioni.	25 most of all Jeremiah. All the singing men and women repeat his lamentations over Josiah, even to the present day. And this has become like a law in Israel. Behold, it is found written in the Lamentations.
26 Tutte l' altre cose di Iosia e de' fatti suoi e delle sue misericordie, le quali sono comandate nella legge del Signore,	26 Now the rest of the words of Josiah, and his mercies, which were instructed by the law of the Lord,
27 e le sue opere prime e ultime, sono scritte nel libro de' re d'Israel e di Giuda.	27 and also his works, the first and the last, have been written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
