Primeira Epístola aos Coríntios 15

1 Eu vos lembro, irmãos, o Evangelho que vos preguei, e que tendes acolhido, no qual estais firmes.	1 And so I make known to you, brothers, the Gospel that I preached to you, which you also received, and on which you stand.
2 Por ele sereis salvos, se o conservardes como vo-lo preguei. De outra forma, em vão teríeis abraçado a fé.	2 By the Gospel, too, you are being saved, if you hold to the understanding that I preached to you, lest you believe in vain.
3 Eu vos transmiti primeiramente o que eu mesmo havia recebido: que Cristo morreu por nossos pecados, segundo as Escrituras;	3 For I handed on to you, first of all, what I also received: that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures;
4 foi sepultado, e ressurgiu ao terceiro dia, segundo as Escrituras;	4 and that he was buried; and that he rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures;
5 apareceu a Cefas, e em seguida aos Doze.	5 and that he was seen by Cephas, and after that by the eleven.
6 Depois apareceu a mais de quinhentos irmãos de uma vez, dos quais a maior parte ainda vive {e alguns já são mortos};	6 Next he was seen by more than five hundred brothers at one time, many of whom remain, even to the present time, although some have fallen asleep.
7 depois apareceu a Tiago, em seguida a todos os apóstolos.	7 Next, he was seen by James, then by all the Apostles.
8 E, por último de todos, apareceu também a mim, como a um abortivo.	8 And last of all, he was seen also by me, as if I were someone born at the wrong time.
9 Porque eu sou o menor dos apóstolos, e não sou digno de ser chamado apóstolo, porque persegui a Igreja de Deus.	9 For I am the least of the Apostles. I am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God.
10 Mas, pela graça de Deus, sou o que sou, e a graça que ele me deu não tem sido inútil. Ao contrário, tenho trabalhado mais do que todos eles; não eu, mas a graça de Deus que está comigo.	10 But, by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me has not been empty, since I have labored more abundantly than all of them. Yet it is not I, but the grace of God within me.
11 Portanto, seja eu ou sejam eles, assim pregamos, e assim crestes.	11 For whether it is I or they: so we preach, and so you have believed.
12 Ora, se se prega que Jesus ressuscitou dentre os mortos, como dizem alguns de vós que não há ressurreição de mortos?	12 Now if Christ is preached, that he rose again from the dead, how is it that some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 Se não há ressurreição dos mortos, nem Cristo ressuscitou.	13 For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen.
14 Se Cristo não ressuscitou, é vã a nossa pregação, e também é vã a vossa fé.	14 And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is useless, and your faith is also useless.
15 Além disso, seríamos convencidos de ser falsas testemunhas de Deus, por termos dado testemunho contra Deus, afirmando que ele ressuscitou a Cristo, ao qual não ressuscitou {se os mortos não ressuscitam}.	15 Then, too, we would be found to be false witnesses of God, because we would have given testimony against God, saying that he had raised up Christ, when he had not raised him up, if, indeed, the dead do not rise again.
16 Pois, se os mortos não ressuscitam, também Cristo não ressuscitou.	16 For if the dead do not rise again, then neither has Christ risen again.
17 E se Cristo não ressuscitou, é inútil a vossa fé, e ainda estais em vossos pecados.	17 But if Christ has not risen, then your faith is vain; for you would still be in your sins.
18 Também estão perdidos os que morreram em Cristo.	18 Then, too, those who have fallen asleep in Christ would have perished.
19 Se é só para esta vida que temos colocado a nossa esperança em Cristo, somos, de todos os homens, os mais dignos de lástima.	19 If we have hope in Christ for this life only, then we are more miserable than all men.
20 Mas não! Cristo ressuscitou dentre os mortos, como primícias dos que morreram!	20 But now Christ has risen again from the dead, as the first-fruits of those who sleep.
21 Com efeito, se por um homem veio a morte, por um homem vem a ressurreição dos mortos.	21 For certainly, death came through a man. And so, the resurrection of the dead came through a man
22 Assim como em Adão todos morrem, assim em Cristo todos reviverão.	22 And just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be brought to life,
23 Cada qual, porém, em sua ordem: como primícias, Cristo; em seguida, os que forem de Cristo, na ocasião de sua vinda.	23 but each one in his proper order: Christ, as the first-fruits, and next, those who are of Christ, who have believed in his advent.
24 Depois, virá o fim, quando entregar o Reino a Deus, ao Pai, depois de haver destruído todo principado, toda potestade e toda dominação.	24 Afterwards is the end, when he will have handed over the kingdom to God the Father, when he will have emptied all principality, and authority, and power.
25 Porque é necessário que ele reine, até que ponha todos os inimigos debaixo de seus pés.	25 For it is necessary for him to reign, until he has set all his enemies under his feet.
26 O último inimigo a derrotar será a morte, porque Deus sujeitou tudo debaixo dos seus pés.	26 Lastly, the enemy called death shall be destroyed. For he has subjected all things under his feet. And although he says,
27 Mas, quando ele disser que tudo lhe está sujeito, claro é que se excetua aquele que lhe sujeitou todas as coisas.	27 “All things have been subjected to him,” without doubt he does not include the One who has subjected all things to him.
28 E, quando tudo lhe estiver sujeito, então também o próprio Filho renderá homenagem àquele que lhe sujeitou todas as coisas, a fim de que Deus seja tudo em todos.	28 And when all things will have been subjected to him, then even the Son himself will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all.
29 De outra maneira, que intentam aqueles que se batizam em favor dos mortos? Se os mortos realmente não ressuscitam, por que se batizam por eles?	29 Otherwise, what will those who are being baptized for the dead do, if the dead do not rise again at all? Why then are they being baptized for them?
30 E nós, por que nos expomos a perigos a toda hora?	30 Why also do we endure trials every hour?
31 Cada dia, irmãos, expondo-me à morte, tão certo como vós sois a minha glória em Jesus Cristo nosso Senhor.	31 Daily I die, by means of your boasting, brothers: you whom I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
32 Se foi por intenção humana que combati com as feras em Éfeso, que me aproveita isso? Se os mortos não ressuscitam, comamos e bebamos, porque amanhã morreremos.	32 If, according to man, I fought with the beasts at Ephesus, how would that benefit me, if the dead do not rise again? “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die.”
33 Não vos deixeis enganar: Más companhias corrompem bons costumes.	33 Do not be led astray. Evil communication corrupts good morals.
34 Despertai, como convém, e não pequeis! Porque alguns vivem na total ignorância de Deus - para vergonha vossa o digo.	34 Be vigilant, you just ones, and do not be willing to sin. For certain persons have an ignorance of God. I say this to you with respect.
35 Mas, dirá alguém, como ressuscitam os mortos? E com que corpo vêm?	35 But someone may say, “How do the dead rise again?” or, “What type of body do they return with?”
36 Insensato! O que semeias não recobra vida, sem antes morrer.	36 How foolish! What you sow cannot be brought back to life, unless it first dies.
37 E, quando semeias, não semeias o corpo da planta que há de nascer, mas o simples grão, como, por exemplo, de trigo ou de alguma outra planta.	37 And what you sow is not the body that will be in the future, but a bare grain, such as of wheat, or of some other grain.
38 Deus, porém, lhe dá o corpo como lhe apraz, e a cada uma das sementes o corpo da planta que lhe é própria.	38 For God gives it a body according to his will, and according to each seed’s proper body.
39 Nem todas as carnes são iguais: uma é a dos homens e outra a dos animais; a das aves difere da dos peixes.	39 Not all flesh is the same flesh. But one is indeed of men, another truly is of beasts, another is of birds, and another is of fish.
40 Também há corpos celestes e corpos terrestres, mas o brilho dos celestes difere do brilho dos terrestres.	40 Also, there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But while the one, certainly, has the glory of heaven, the other has the glory of earth.
41 Uma é a claridade do sol, outra a claridade da lua e outra a claridade das estrelas; e ainda uma estrela difere da outra na claridade.	41 One has the brightness of the sun, another the brightness of the moon, and another the brightness of the stars. For even star differs from star in brightness.
42 Assim também é a ressurreição dos mortos. Semeado na corrupção, o corpo ressuscita incorruptível;	42 So it is also with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown in corruption shall rise to incorruption.
43 semeado no desprezo, ressuscita glorioso; semeado na fraqueza, ressuscita vigoroso;	43 What is sown in dishonor shall rise to glory. What is sown in weakness shall rise to power.
44 semeado corpo animal, ressuscita corpo espiritual. Se há um corpo animal, também há um espiritual.	44 What is sown with an animal body shall rise with a spiritual body. If there is an animal body, there is also a spiritual one.
45 Como está escrito: O primeiro homem, Adão, foi feito alma vivente {Gn 2,7}; o segundo Adão é espírito vivificante.	45 Just as it was written that the first man, Adam, was made with a living soul, so shall the last Adam be made with a spirit brought back to life.
46 Mas não é o espiritual que vem primeiro, e sim o animal; o espiritual vem depois.	46 So what is, at first, not spiritual, but animal, next becomes spiritual.
47 O primeiro homem, tirado da terra, é terreno; o segundo veio do céu.	47 The first man, being earthly, was of the earth; the second man, being heavenly, will be of heaven.
48 Qual o homem terreno, tais os homens terrenos; e qual o homem celestial, tais os homens celestiais.	48 Such things as are like the earth are earthly; and such things as are like the heavens are heavenly.
49 Assim como reproduzimos em nós as feições do homem terreno, precisamos reproduzir as feições do homem celestial.	49 And so, just as we have carried the image of what is earthly, let us also carry the image of what is heavenly.
50 O que afirmo, irmãos, é que nem a carne nem o sangue podem participar do Reino de Deus; e que a corrupção não participará da incorruptibilidade.	50 Now I say this, brothers, because flesh and blood is not able to possess the kingdom of God; neither will what is corrupt possess what is incorrupt.
51 Eis que vos revelo um mistério: nem todos morreremos, mas todos seremos transformados,	51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. Certainly, we shall all rise again, but we shall not all be transformed:
52 num momento, num abrir e fechar de olhos, ao som da última trombeta {porque a trombeta soará}. Os mortos ressuscitarão incorruptíveis, e nós seremos transformados.	52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise up, incorruptible. And we shall be transformed.
53 É necessário que este corpo corruptível se revista da incorruptibilidade, e que este corpo mortal se revista da imortalidade.	53 Thus, it is necessary for this corruptibility to be clothed with incorruptibility, and for this mortality to be clothed with immortality.
54 Quando este corpo corruptível estiver revestido da incorruptibilidade, e quando este corpo mortal estiver revestido da imortalidade, então se cumprirá a palavra da Escritura:	54 And when this mortality has been clothed with immortality, then the word that was written shall occur: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 A morte foi tragada pela vitória {Is 25,8}. Onde está, ó morte, a tua vitória? Onde está, ó morte, o teu aguilhão {Os 13,14}?	55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 Ora, o aguilhão da morte é o pecado, e a força do pecado é a lei.	56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 Graças, porém, sejam dadas a Deus, que nos dá a vitória por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo!	57 But thanks be to God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Por conseqüência, meus amados irmãos, sede firmes e inabaláveis, aplicando-vos cada vez mais à obra do Senhor. Sabeis que o vosso trabalho no Senhor não é em vão.	58 And so, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and unmovable, abounding always in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not useless in the Lord.
