1 Timothy 2

1 And so I beg you, first of all, to make supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings for all men,	1 IO esorto adunque, innanzi ad ogni cosa, che si facciano preghiere, orazioni, richieste, e ringraziamenti per tutti gli uomini.
2 for kings, and for all who are in high places, so that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and chastity.	2 Pei re, e per tutti quelli che sono in dignità; acciocchè possiam menare una tranquilla e quieta vita, in ogni pietà ed onestà.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,	3 Perciocchè quest’è buono ed accettevole nel cospetto di Dio, nostro Salvatore.
4 who wants all men to be saved and to arrive at an acknowledgment of the truth.	4 Il quale vuole che tutti gli uomini sieno salvati, e che vengano alla conoscenza della verità.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator of God and of men, the man Christ Jesus,	5 Perciocchè v’è un sol Dio, ed anche un sol Mediatore di Dio, e degli uomini: Cristo Gesù uomo.
6 who gave himself as a redemption for all, as a testimony in its proper time.	6 Il quale ha dato sè stesso per prezzo di riscatto per tutti; secondo la testimonianza riserbata a’ propri tempi.
7 Of this testimony, I have been appointed a preacher and an Apostle, (I speak the truth, I do not lie) as a teacher of the Gentiles, in faith and in truth.	7 A che io sono stato costituito banditore, ed apostolo io dico verità in Cristo, non mento, dottor de’ Gentili in fede, e verità.
8 Therefore, I want men to pray in every place, lifting up pure hands, without anger or dissension.	8 Io voglio adunque che gli uomini facciano orazione in ogni luogo, alzando le mani pure, senza ira e disputazione
9 Similarly also, women should be dressed fittingly, adorning themselves with compunction and restraint, and not with plaited hair, nor gold, nor pearls, nor costly attire,	9 SIMIGLIANTEMENTE ancora che le donne si adornino d’abito onesto, con verecondia e modestia; non di trecce, o d’oro, o di perle, o di vestimenti preziosi;
10 but in a manner proper for women who are professing piety by means of good works.	10 ma come si conviene a donne che fanno professione di servire a Dio per opere buone.
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all subjection.	11 La donna impari con silenzio, in ogni soggezione.
12 For I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to be in authority over a man, but to be in silence.	12 Ma io non permetto alla donna d’insegnare, nè d’usare autorità sopra il marito; ma ordino che stia in silenzio.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.	13 Perciocchè Adamo fu creato il primo, e poi Eva.
14 And Adam was not seduced, but the woman, having been seduced, was in transgression.	14 E Adamo non fu sedotto; ma la donna, essendo stata sedotta, fu in cagion di trasgressione.
15 Yet she will be saved by bearing children, if she has continued in faith and love, and in sanctification accompanied by self-restraint.	15 Ma pure sarà salvata, partorendo figliuoli, se saranno perseverate in fede, e carità, e santificazione, con onestà
