Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses and the elders of Israel instructed the people, saying: “Keep each commandment that I instruct to you this day.	1 - Ora Mosè, coi seniori di Israele, comandò al popolo e disse: «Eseguite tutti gli ordini che io oggi vi dò.
2 And when you have crossed over the Jordan, into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, you shall erect immense stones, and you shall coat them with plaster,	2 Quando avrete passato il Giordano, [e sarete entrati] nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, metterai una sull'altra delle pietre grandissime, e le rivestirai di calce,
3 so that you may be able to write upon them all the words of this law, when you have crossed the Jordan so as to enter into the land which the Lord your God will give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as he swore to your fathers.	3 in modo da potervi scrivere tutte le sentenze di questa legge, dopo passato il Giordano per entrare nella terra che il Signore Dio tuo ti darà, terra stillante latte e miele, come ne fece giuramento ai tuoi padri.
4 Therefore, when you have crossed over the Jordan, erect the stones, just as I instruct you to do this day, on Mount Ebal. And you shall coat them with plaster,	4 Quando dunque avrete passato il Giordano, alzate sul monte Hebal queste pietre delle quali oggi vi dò l'ordine, e rivestitele di calce.
5 and you shall build, in that place, an altar to the Lord your God out of stones which have not been touched by iron,	5 Ivi anche edificherai al Signore Dio tuo un altare, di pietre non tocche dal ferro,
6 out of stones which have not been hewn or polished. And you shall offer holocausts on it to the Lord your God.	6 di sassi greggi non lavorati; su quello offrirai olocausti al Signore Dio tuo,
7 And you shall immolate peace victims. And you shall eat and feast in that place, in the sight of the Lord your God.	7 ed immolerai ostie pacifiche; ed ivi ne mangerai, e farai festa dinanzi al Signore Dio tuo.
8 And you shall write upon the stones all the words of this law, plainly and clearly.”	8 E sulle pietre scriverai tutt'i precetti di questa legge, in modo chiaro e distinto».
9 And Moses and the priests of Levitical stock said to all of Israel: “Attend and listen, O Israel! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.	9 Mosè ed i sacerdoti della discendenza di Levi dissero a tutto il popolo: «Poni mente, Israele, ed ascolta. Oggi sei divenuto il popolo del Signore Dio tuo;
10 You shall listen to his voice, and you shall do the commandments and justices, which I am entrusting to you.”	10 ascolta la sua voce, e metti in pratica i comandamenti e le leggi che io ti prescrivo».
11 And Moses instructed the people in that day, saying:	11 E Mosè comandò in quel giorno al popolo, dicendo:
12 “These shall stand upon Mount Gerizim, as a blessing to the people, when you will have crossed the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.	12 «Passato il Giordano, si metteranno per benedire il popolo di sul monte Garizim: Simeon, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Giuseppe e Beniamino;
13 And in the opposite region, there shall stand upon Mount Ebal, as a curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.	13 di contro a loro, sul monte Hebal, per maledirlo: Ruben, Gad, Aser, Zabulon, Dan e Neftali.
14 And the Levites shall pronounce and declare to all the men of Israel, with an exalted voice:	14 I leviti proclameranno e diranno a gran voce, a tutti gli uomini d'Israele:
15 Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten idol, an abomination to the Lord, a work of the hands of its maker, and who puts it in a secret place. And all the people shall respond by saying: Amen.	15 - Maledetto l'uomo che fa [idoli] scolpiti o di getto, abominazione dinanzi al Signore, lavoro di mani d'artefici, e li pone in luogo nascosto. - Tutto il popolo risponderà, e dirà: - Amen. -
16 Cursed be he who does not honor his father and mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	16 - Maledetto chi non onora il padre e la madre sua. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
17 Cursed be he who removes his neighbor’s landmarks. And all the people shall say: Amen.	17 - Maledetto chi rimuove i termini del prossimo suo. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
18 Cursed be he who causes the blind to go astray on a journey. And all the people shall say: Amen.	18 - Maledetto chi farà sbagliare la strada al cieco. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
19 Cursed be he who subverts the judgment of the new arrival, the orphan, or the widow. And all the people shall say: Amen.	19 - Maledetto chi non fa giustizia al forestiero, all'orfano, alla vedova. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
20 Cursed be he who lies with his father’s wife, and so exposes the covering of his bed. And all the people shall say: Amen.	20 - Maledetto chi dorme con la moglie del padre suo, e leva la coperta del suo letto. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
21 Cursed be he who lies with any beast. And all the people shall say: Amen.	21 - Maledetto chi si contamina con qualsiasi bestia. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
22 Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or of his mother. And all the people shall say: Amen.	22 - Maledetto chi dorme con la sua sorella, figlia del padre o della madre sua. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
23 Cursed be he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say: Amen.	23 - Maledetto chi dorme con la sua suocera. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
24 Cursed be he who secretly strikes down his neighbor. And all the people shall say: Amen.	24 - Maledetto chi assalisce a tradimento il suo prossimo. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
25 Cursed be he who accepts gifts in order to strike down the life of innocent blood. And all the people shall say: Amen.	25 - Maledetto chi accetta un donativo per metter a morte un innocente. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen.-
26 Cursed be he who does not remain in the words of this law, and does not carry them out in deed. And all the people shall say: Amen.”	26 - Maledetto chi non sta attaccato ai comandamenti di questa legge, e non li mette in pratica. - E tutto il popolo dirà: - Amen. -
