1 Then Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, returned in peace to his house in Jerusalem.	1 Cuando Josafat, rey de Judá, regresaba en paz a su casa, a Jerusalén,
2 And the seer Jehu, the son of Hanani, met him, and said to him: “You offer assistance to the impious, and you are joined in friendship with those who hate the Lord. And for this reason, you certainly deserve the wrath of the Lord.	2 salióle al encuentro Jehú, hijo de Jananí el vidente, y le dijo al rey Josafat: «¿Tú ayudas al malo y amas a los que aborrecen a Yahveh? Por esto ha caído sobre ti la cólera de Yahveh.
3 But good works have been found in you. For you have taken away the sacred groves from the land of Judah. And you have prepared your heart, so as to seek the Lord, the God of your fathers.”	3 Sin embargo, han sido halladas en ti obras buenas, porque has quitado de esta tierra los cipos, y has dispuesto tu corazón para buscar a Dios».
4 Then Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem. And again he went out to the people, from Beersheba as far as mount Ephraim. And he called them back to the Lord, the God of their fathers.	4 Residía Josafat en Jerusalén, pero volvió a visitar al pueblo desde Berseba hasta la montaña de Efraím; y los convirtió a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres.
5 And he appointed judges of the land, in all the fortified cities of Judah, in each place.	5 Estableció jueces en el país, en todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá, de ciudad en ciudad;
6 And instructing the judges, he said: “Pay attention to what you are doing. For you exercise judgment, not of man, but of the Lord. And whatever you will have judged, it will come back to you.	6 y dijo a los jueces: «Mirad lo que hacéis; porque no juzgáis en nombre de los hombres, sino en nombre de Yahveh, que está con vosotros cuando administráis justicia.
7 Let the fear of the Lord be with you, and do all things with diligence. For there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor desire for gifts.”	7 ¡Que esté sobre vosotros el temor de Yahveh! Atended bien a lo que hacéis, porque en Yahveh nuestro Dios no hay iniquidad ni acepción de personas ni soborno».
8 Jehoshaphat also appointed Levites and priests and leaders of families, out of Israel, in Jerusalem, so that they might judge the judgment and purpose of the Lord for its inhabitants.	8 También en Jerusalén estableció Josafat levitas, sacerdotes y cabezas de familia de Israel, para la administración de la justicia de Yahveh y para los litigios. Estos habitaban en Jerusalén.
9 And he instructed them, saying, “So shall you act: faithfully, in the fear of the Lord, and with a perfect heart.	9 Les dio esta orden: «Obraréis en todo en el temor de Yahveh, con fidelidad y con corazón perfecto.
10 Every case that will come to you from your brothers, who live in their cities, between kindred and kindred, wherever there is a question concerning law, commandment, ceremonies, or justifications, reveal it to them, so that they may not sin against the Lord, and so that wrath may not overwhelm you and your brothers. Then, by acting in this way, you will not sin.	10 En todo pleito que venga a vosotros de parte de vuestros hermanos que habitan en sus ciudades, sean causas de sangre o cuestiones de la Ley, de los mandamientos, decretos y sentencias, habéis de esclarecerlos, a fin de que no se hagan culpables para con Yahveh y se encienda su ira contra vosotros y contra vuestros hermanos. Obrando así, no os haréis culpables.
11 But Amariah, a priest and your high priest, shall preside over those things which pertain to God. Then Zebadiah, the son of Ishmael, who is a ruler in the house of Judah, shall be over those works that pertain to the office of the king. And you have before you the Levites as teachers. Be strengthened and act diligently, and the Lord will be with you for what is good.”	11 «Amarías, como sacerdote, será vuestro jefe en todos las asuntos de Yahveh; y Zebadías, hijo de Ismael, jefe de la casa de Judá, en todos los asuntos del rey. Los levitas os servirán de escribas. ¡Esforzaos, y manos a la obra! Y Yahveh sea con el bueno».
