1 While they were stil talking to the people the priests came up to them, accompanied by the captain ofthe Temple and the Sadducees.	1 Kiedy przemawiali do ludu, podeszli do nich kapłani i dowódca straży świątynnej oraz saduceusze
2 They were extremely annoyed at their teaching the people the resurrection from the dead by proclaimingthe resurrection of Jesus.	2 oburzeni, że nauczają lud i głoszą zmartwychwstanie umarłych w Jezusie.
3 They arrested them, and, as it was already late, they kept them in prison till the next day.	3 Zatrzymali ich i oddali pod straż aż do następnego dnia, bo już był wieczór.
4 But many of those who had listened to their message became believers; the total number of men hadnow risen to something like five thousand.	4 A wielu z tych, którzy słyszeli naukę, uwierzyło. Liczba mężczyzn dosięgała około pięciu tysięcy.
5 It happened that the next day the rulers, elders and scribes held a meeting in Jerusalem	5 Następnego dnia zebrali się ich przełożeni i starsi, i uczeni w Jerozolimie:
6 with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, Jonathan, Alexander and al the members of the high-priestlyfamilies.	6 arcykapłan Annasz, Kajfasz, Jan, Aleksander i ilu ich było z rodu arcykapłańskiego.
7 They made the prisoners stand in the middle and began to interrogate them, 'By what power, and bywhose name have you men done this?'	7 Postawili ich w środku i pytali: Czyją mocą albo w czyim imieniu uczyniliście to?
8 Then Peter, fil ed with the Holy Spirit, addressed them, 'Rulers of the people, and elders!	8 Wtedy Piotr napełniony Duchem Świętym powiedział do nich: Przełożeni ludu i starsi!
9 If you are questioning us today about an act of kindness to a cripple and asking us how he was healed,	9 Jeżeli przesłuchujecie nas dzisiaj w sprawie dobrodziejstwa, dzięki któremu chory człowiek uzyskał zdrowie,
10 you must know, all of you, and the whole people of Israel, that it is by the name of Jesus Christ theNazarene, whom you crucified, and God raised from the dead, by this name and by no other that this manstands before you cured.	10 to niech będzie wiadomo wam wszystkim i całemu ludowi Izraela, że w imię Jezusa Chrystusa Nazarejczyka - którego ukrzyżowaliście, a którego Bóg wskrzesił z martwych - że przez Niego ten człowiek stanął przed wami zdrowy.
11 This is the stone which you, the builders, rejected but which has become the cornerstone. Only in himis there salvation;	11 On jest kamieniem, odrzuconym przez was budujących, tym, który stał się głowicą węgła.
12 for of al the names in the world given to men, this is the only one by which we can be saved.'	12 I nie ma w żadnym innym zbawienia, gdyż nie dano ludziom pod niebem żadnego innego imienia, w którym moglibyśmy być zbawieni.
13 They were astonished at the fearlessness shown by Peter and John, considering that they wereuneducated laymen; and they recognised them as associates of Jesus;	13 Widząc odwagę Piotra i Jana, a dowiedziawszy się, że są oni ludźmi nieuczonymi i prostymi, dziwili się. Rozpoznawali w nich też towarzyszy Jezusa.
14 but when they saw the man who had been cured standing by their side, they could find no answer.	14 A widząc nadto, że stoi z nimi uzdrowiony człowiek, nie znajdowali odpowiedzi.
15 So they ordered them to stand outside while the Sanhedrin had a private discussion.	15 Kazali więc im wyjść z sali Rady i naradzili się:
16 'What are we going to do with these men?' they asked. 'It is obvious to everybody in Jerusalem that anotable miracle has been worked through them, and we cannot deny it.	16 Co mamy zrobić z tymi ludźmi? - mówili jeden do drugiego - bo dokonali jawnego znaku, oczywistego dla wszystkich mieszkańców Jerozolimy. Przecież temu nie możemy zaprzeczyć.
17 But to stop the whole thing spreading any further among the people, let us threaten them against everspeaking to anyone in this name again.'	17 Aby jednak nie rozpowszechniało się to wśród ludu, zabrońmy im surowo przemawiać do kogokolwiek w to imię.
18 So they cal ed them in and gave them a warning on no account to make statements or to teach in thename of Jesus.	18 Przywołali ich potem i zakazali im w ogóle przemawiać, i nauczać w imię Jezusa.
19 But Peter and John retorted, 'You must judge whether in God's eyes it is right to listen to you and not toGod.	19 Lecz Piotr i Jan odpowiedzieli: Rozsądźcie, czy słuszne jest w oczach Bożych bardziej słuchać was niż Boga?
20 We cannot stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard.'	20 Bo my nie możemy nie mówić tego, cośmy widzieli i słyszeli.
21 The court repeated the threats and then released them; they could not think of any way to punish them,since al the people were giving glory to God for what had happened.	21 Oni zaś ponowili groźby, a nie znajdując żadnej podstawy do wymierzenia im kary, wypuścili ich ze względu na lud, bo wszyscy wielbili Boga z powodu tego, co się stało.
22 The man who had been miraculously cured was over forty years old.	22 A człowiek, który doznał tego cudownego uzdrowienia, miał ponad czterdzieści lat.
23 As soon as they were released they went to the community and told them everything the chief priestsand elders had said to them.	23 Uwolnieni przybyli do swoich i opowiedzieli, co do nich mówili arcykapłani i starsi.
24 When they heard it they lifted up their voice to God with one heart. 'Master,' they prayed, 'it is you who made sky and earth and sea, and everything in them;	24 Wysłuchawszy tego podnieśli jednomyślnie głos do Boga i mówili: Wszechwładny Stwórco nieba i ziemi, i morza, i wszystkiego, co w nich istnieje,
25 it is you who said through the Holy Spirit and speaking through our ancestor David, your servant: Whythis uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?	25 Tyś przez Ducha Świętego powiedział ustami sługi Twego Dawida: Dlaczego burzą się narody i ludy knują rzeczy próżne?
26 Kings on earth take up position, princes plot together against the Lord and his Anointed.	26 Powstali królowie ziemi i książęta zeszli się razem przeciw Panu i przeciw Jego Pomazańcowi.
27 'This is what has come true: in this very city Herod and Pontius Pilate plotted together with the gentilenations and the peoples of Israel, against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed,	27 Zeszli się bowiem rzeczywiście w tym mieście przeciw świętemu Słudze Twemu, Jezusowi, którego namaściłeś, Herod i Poncjusz Piłat z poganami i pokoleniami Izraela,
28 to bring about the very thing that you in your strength and your wisdom had predetermined shouldhappen.	28 aby uczynić to, co ręka Twoja i myśl zamierzyły.
29 And now, Lord, take note of their threats and help your servants to proclaim your message with alfearlessness,	29 A teraz spójrz, Panie, na ich groźby i daj sługom Twoim głosić słowo Twoje z całą odwagą,
30 by stretching out your hand to heal and to work miracles and marvels through the name of your holyservant Jesus.'	30 gdy Ty wyciągać będziesz swą rękę, aby uzdrawiać i dokonywać znaków i cudów przez imię świętego Sługi Twego, Jezusa.
31 As they prayed, the house where they were assembled rocked. From this time they were all fil ed withthe Holy Spirit and began to proclaim the word of God fearlessly.	31 Po tej modlitwie zadrżało miejsce, na którym byli zebrani, wszyscy zostali napełnieni Duchem Świętym i głosili odważnie słowo Boże.
32 The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed private ownership of anypossessions, as everything they owned was held in common.	32 Jeden duch i jedno serce ożywiały wszystkich wierzących. żaden nie nazywał swoim tego, co posiadał, ale wszystko mieli wspólne.
33 The apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and they wereal accorded great respect.	33 Apostołowie z wielką mocą świadczyli o zmartwychwstaniu Pana Jezusa, a wszyscy oni mieli wielką łaskę.
34 None of their members was ever in want, as al those who owned land or houses would sel them, andbring the money from the sale of them,	34 Nikt z nich nie cierpiał niedostatku, bo właściciele pól albo domów sprzedawali je
35 to present it to the apostles; it was then distributed to any who might be in need.	35 i przynosili pieniądze /uzyskane/ ze sprzedaży, i składali je u stóp Apostołów. Każdemu też rozdzielano według potrzeby.
36 There was a Levite of Cypriot origin called Joseph whom the apostles surnamed Barnabas (whichmeans 'son of encouragement').	36 Tak Józef, nazwany przez Apostołów Barnabas, to znaczy Syn Pocieszenia, lewita rodem z Cypru,
37 He owned a piece of land and he sold it and brought the money and presented it to the apostles.	37 sprzedał ziemię, którą posiadał, a pieniądze przyniósł i złożył u stóp Apostołów.
