Psalms 73

1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.	1 Psalam. Asafov. Kako je dobar Bog čestitima, Bog onima koji su čista srca!
2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,	2 A meni umalo noge ne posrnuše, zamalo koraci ne okliznuše,
3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.	3 jer zločincima zavidjeh motreći sreću grešnikâ.
4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;	4 Nikakvu patnju ne snose,zdravo je i pretilo tijelo njihovo.
5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.	5 Ne žive u mukama smrtnika, ljudske ih nevolje ne biju.
6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.	6 Stoga je oholost ogrlica vratu njihovu, a nasilje haljina koja ih pokriva.
7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.	7 Iz pretila srca izlazi opakost njihova, srca im se prelijevaju ispraznim tlapnjama.
8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.	8 Podsmjehuju se i zlobno govore, nasiljem prijete odozgo.
9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.	9 Ustima na nebo nasrću, a jezik se njihov obara na zemlju.
10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,	10 Zato moj narod za njima leti i srče obilne vode
11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'	11 pa veli: »Kako da dozna Bog? Spoznaje li Svevišnji?«
12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.	12 Eto, takvi su grešnici: uvijek spokojni, bogatstvo zgrću.
13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?	13 Jesam li, dakle, samo ja uzalud čuvao srce čisto i u nedužnosti prao ruke
14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,	14 kad sam primao udarce svaki dan i kaznu jutro za jutrom?
15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.	15 Da sam kazao: »Govorit ću kao i oni«, izdao bih rod sinova tvojih.
16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!	16 Promišljah tada da bih spoznao: al’ mi se učini mučno u očima mojim
17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.	17 sve dok ne nađoh ulaz u Božje svetinje pa prozreh kakav im je svršetak.
18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.	18 Zaista, na klizavu stazu ti ih postavljaš, u propast ih obaraš.
19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!	19 Kako učas propadoše, nestaše, užas ih izjede!
20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.	20 Kao što čovjek prezire san kad se probudi, tako ćeš, Gospode, prezreti lik im kada ustaneš.
21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,	21 Kad mi duša bijaše ojađena, a bubrezi probodeni,
22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.	22 bezumnik bijah bez razbora, k’o živinče pred tobom.
23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;	23 Al’ ću odsad uvijek biti s tobom, jer ti prihvati desnicu moju:
24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.	24 vodit ćeš me po naumu svojem da me zatim uzmeš u slavu svoju.
25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.	25 Koga ja imam u nebu osim tebe? Kad sam s tobom, ne veselim se zemlji.
26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!	26 Malaksalo mi tijelo i srce: okrilje srca moga, i baštino moja, o Bože, dovijeka!
27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,	27 Doista, propast će oni koji se udaljuju od tebe, istrebljuješ svakog tko ti se iznevjeri.
28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.	28 A meni je milina biti u Božjoj blizini, imati sklonište svoje u Jahvi. Pripovijedat ću sva tvoja djela na vratima kćeri sionske.
