1 Ma tu insegna conformemente alla sana dottrina:	1 As for yourself, you must say what is consistent with sound doctrine, namely,
2 Che i vecchi siano sobrj, pudichi, prudenti, sani nella fede, nella carità, nella pazienza:	2 that older men should be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, love, and endurance.
3 Similmente le donne di età in un contegno santo, non portate a dir male, non dedite al molto vino, maestre del ben fare:	3 Similarly, older women should be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to drink, teaching what is good,
4 Affinchè alle più giovani insegnino ad esser morigerate, ad amare i loro mariti, a tener conto de' lor figliuoli,	4 so that they may train younger women to love their husbands and children,
5 Ad esser prudenti, caste, sobrie, attente alla cura della casa, buone, soggette a' loro mariti, affinchè non si dica male della parola di Dio:	5 to be self-controlled, chaste, good homemakers, under the control of their husbands, so that the word of God may not be discredited.
6 I giovani parimente esortali alla temperanza.	6 Urge the younger men, similarly, to control themselves,
7 In tutte le cose fa' vedere te stesso modello del ben fare, nella dottrina, nella purità de' costumi, nella gravità,	7 showing yourself as a model of good deeds in every respect, with integrity in your teaching, dignity,
8 Il discorrere sano, irreprensibile talmente che chi ci sta di contro, abbia rossore, non avendo nulla, onde dir male di noi:	8 and sound speech that cannot be criticized, so that the opponent will be put to shame without anything bad to say about us.
9 Che i servi siano soggetti ai loro padroni, in lutto facciano a modo (di essi) non istiano a tu per tu,	9 Slaves are to be under the control of their masters in all respects, giving them satisfaction, not talking back to them
10 Non rubino, ma in ogni cosa dimostrino perfetta fedeltà: talmente che in tutto facciano onore alla dottrina del salvatore nostro Dio.	10 or stealing from them, but exhibiting complete good faith, so as to adorn the doctrine of God our savior in every way.
11 Imperocché apparve la grazia di Dio salvatore nostro a tatti gli uomini,	11 For the grace of God has appeared, saving all
12 Insegnando a noi, che rinnegata l'empietà, e i desideri del secolo, con temperanza, con giustizia, e con pietà viviamo in questo secolo,	12 and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age,
13 In espettazione di quella beata speranza, e di quella apparizione della gloria del grande Dio, e salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo:	13 as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory of the great God and of our savior Jesus Christ,
14 Il quale diede se stesso per noi, affine di riscattarci da ogni iniquità, e per purificarsi un popolo accettevole, zelatore delle buone opere.	14 who gave himself for us to deliver us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people as his own, eager to do what is good.
15 Cosi ragiona, ed esorta, e riprendi con ogni autorità. Nissuno faccia poco conto di te.	15 Say these things. Exhort and correct with all authority. Let no one look down on you.
