1 And the princes of the families of Galaad, the son of Machir, the son of Manasses, of the stock Of the children of Joseph, came and spoke to Moses before the princes of Israel, and said:	1 Батьки-голови в родині синів Гілеада, сина Махіра, сина Манассії, з родини синів Йосифа, приступили й промовили перед Мойсеєм та перед князями, батьками-головами синів Ізраїля,
2 The Lord hath commanded thee, my lord, that thou shouldst divide the land by lot to the children of Israel, and that thou shouldst give to the daughters of Salphaad our brother the possession due to their father:	2 кажучи: «Господь заповідав нашому панові пороздавати синам Ізраїля землю у спадщину за жеребом; і панові нашому було заповідано від Господа передати спадщину Целофхада, нашого брата, його дочкам.
3 Now if men of another tribe take them to wives, their possession will follow them, and being transferred to another tribe, will be a diminishing of our inheritance.	3 Коли ж вони вийдуть заміж за когонебудь із синів інших колін Ізраїля, їхня спадщина буде віднята від спадщини наших батьків і додана до спадщини того коліна, до якого вони пристануть, і тим робом, зменшиться спадщина, яка припала нам за жеребом.
4 And so it shall come to pass, that when the jubilee, that is, the fiftieth year of remission, is come, the distribution made by the lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall pass to the others.	4 Та як у синів Ізраїля настане ювілей, то їхня спадщина приєднається до того коліна, до котрого вони пристануть, і батьківський приділ нашого коліна зменшиться їхньою спадщиною.»
5 Moses answered the children of Israel, and said by the command of the Lord: The tribe of the children of Joseph hath spoken rightly.	5 Тоді Мойсей, за Господнім наказом, повелів синам Ізраїля таке: «Правду каже коліно синів Йосифа.
6 And this is the law promulgated by the Lord touching the daughters of Salphaad: Let them marry to whom they will, only so that it be to men of their own tribe.	6 Ось що заповідав Господь про дочок Целофхада: Нехай собі виходять заміж за того, хто їм довподоби, аби лише виходили за когонебудь з родини їхнього батьківського коліна
7 Lest the possession of the children of Israel be mingled from tribe to tribe. For all men shall marry wives of their own tribe and kindred:	7 та щоб ніяке спадкоємство синів Ізраїля не переходило від коліна до коліна, бо кожен із синів Ізраїля має залишитися при спадщині свого батьківського коліна.
8 And all women shall take husbands of the same tribe: that the inheritance may remain in the families,	8 Отож кожна дочка, що успадкує батьківщину в якомусь коліні синів Ізраїля, повинна вийти заміж за когонебудь із родини свого батьківського коліна, щоб кожен із синів Ізраїля зберіг свою батьківщину,
9 And that the tribes be not mingled one with another, but remain so	9 і щоб спадщина не переходила від одного коліна до другого, а щоб кожне коліно синів Ізраїля трималося свого спадкоємства.»
10 As they were separated by the Lord. And the daughters of Salphaad did as was commanded:	10 Як заповідав Господь Мойсеєві, так і вчинили дочки Целофхада.
11 And Maala, and Thersa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Noa were married to the sons of their uncle by their father	11 І повиходили Махла, Тірца, Хогла, Мілка та Ноа, дочки Целофхада, заміж за синів своїх дядьків,
12 Of the family of Manasses, who was the son of Joseph: and the possession that had been allotted to them, remained in the tribe and family of their father.	12 повіддавалися за чоловіків з родин синів Манассії, сина Йосифа, і таким робом їхня спадщина залишилась при коліні їхньої батьківської родини.
13 These are the commandments and judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho.	13 Ось такі заповіді й присуди, що їх дав Господь через Мойсея синам Ізраїля у степах моавських, над Йорданом, проти Єрихону.
