BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lungo i fiumi di Babilonia,là sedevamo e piangevamoricordandoci di Sion.	1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept at the memory of Zion.
2 Ai salici di quella terraappendemmo le nostre cetre,	2 On the poplars there we had hung up our harps.
3 perché là ci chiedevano parole di cantocoloro che ci avevano deportato,allegre canzoni, i nostri oppressori:«Cantateci canti di Sion!».	3 For there our gaolers had asked us to sing them a song, our captors to make merry, 'Sing us one ofthe songs of Zion.'
4 Come cantare i canti del Signorein terra straniera?	4 How could we sing a song of Yahweh on alien soil?
5 Se mi dimentico di te, Gerusalemme,si dimentichi di me la mia destra;	5 If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand wither!
6 mi si attacchi la lingua al palatose lascio cadere il tuo ricordo,se non innalzo Gerusalemmeal di sopra di ogni mia gioia.	6 May my tongue remain stuck to my palate if I do not keep you in mind, if I do not count Jerusalem thegreatest of my joys.
7 Ricòrdati, Signore, dei figli di Edom,che, nel giorno di Gerusalemme,dicevano: «Spogliatela, spogliatelafino alle sue fondamenta!».	7 Remember, Yahweh, to the Edomites' cost, the day of Jerusalem, how they said, 'Down with it! Raseit to the ground!'
8 Figlia di Babilonia devastatrice,beato chi ti renderà quanto ci hai fatto.	8 Daughter of Babel, doomed to destruction, a blessing on anyone who treats you as you treated us,
9 Beato chi afferrerà i tuoi piccolie li sfracellerà contro la pietra.	9 a blessing on anyone who seizes your babies and shatters them against a rock!
