1 En el segundo año después de la salida de Egipto, el primer día del segundo mes, el Señor dijo a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en la Carpa del Encuentro:	1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Hagan un censo de toda la comunidad de los israelitas, por clanes y por familias, anotando uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones,	2 "Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, by families, by fathers' houses, according to the number of names, every male, head by head;
3 Tú y Aarón registrarán a todos los hombres de Israel que son aptos para la guerra, es decir, a los que tienen más de veinte años, agrupados por regimientos.	3 from twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go forth to war, you and Aaron shall number them, company by company.
4 Para ello contarán con la ayuda de un jefe de familia por cada tribu.	4 And there shall be with you a man from each tribe, each man being the head of the house of his fathers.
5 Los nombres de las personas que les ayudarán son los siguientes: Por la tribu de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur;	5 And these are the names of the men who shall attend you. From Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 por la tribu de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Surisadai;	6 from Simeon, Shelumi-el the son of Zurishaddai;
7 por la tribu de Judá, Najsón, hijo de Aminadab;	7 from Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 por la tribu de Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Suar;	8 from Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;
9 por la tribu de Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Jelón;	9 from Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;
10 por las tribus de los hijos de José: Elisamá, hijo de Amihud, de la tribu de Efraím, y Gamaliel, hijo de Padasur, de la tribu de Manasés;	10 from the sons of Joseph, from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 por la tribu de Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeón;	11 from Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 por la tribu de Dan, Ajiézer, hijo de Amisaddai;	12 from Dan, Ahi-ezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 por la tribu de Aser, Paguiel, hijo de Ocrán;	13 from Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 por la tribu de Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel;	14 from Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;
15 por la tribu de Neftalí, Ajirá, hijo de Enán.	15 from Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan."
16 Estos eran los representantes de la comunidad, los jefes de las tribus de sus antepasados, los jefes de los clanes de Israel.	16 These were the ones chosen from the congregation, the leaders of their ancestral tribes, the heads of the clans of Israel.
17 Moisés y Aarón reunieron a todos estos hombres, que habían sido designados expresamente,	17 Moses and Aaron took these men who have been named,
18 y convocaron a la comunidad el primer día del segundo mes. Entonces todos se inscribieron por clanes y por familias, y se fueron anotando uno por uno los nombres de los que tenían más de veinte años.	18 and on the first day of the second month, they assembled the whole congregation together, who registered themselves by families, by fathers' houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head,
19 Así los registró Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, como el Señor se lo había ordenado.	19 as the LORD commanded Moses. So he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 Los resultados fueron los siguientes: En la lista de los descendientes de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	20 The people of Reuben, Israel's first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war:
21 fueron registrados 46.500 hombres.	21 the number of the tribe of Reuben was forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 En las lista de los descendientes de Simeón, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	22 Of the people of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, those of them that were numbered, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war:
23 fueron registrados 59.300 hombres.	23 the number of the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 En la lista de los descendientes de Gad, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	24 Of the people of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war:
25 fueron registrados 45.650 hombres.	25 the number of the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26 En la lista de los descendientes de Judá, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	26 Of the people of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
27 fueron registrados 74.600 hombres.	27 the number of the tribe of Judah was seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 En la lista de los descendientes de Isacar, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombre de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	28 Of the people of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
29 fueron registrados 54.400 hombres.	29 the number of the tribe of Issachar was fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30 En la lista de los descendientes de Zabulón, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	30 Of the people of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
31 fueron registrados 57.400 hombres.	31 the number of the tribe of Zebulun was fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32 En cuanto a los hijos de José: En la lista de los descendientes de Efraím, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	32 Of the people of Joseph, namely, of the people of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
33 fueron registrados 40.500 hombres.	33 the number of the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand five hundred.
34 En la lista de los descendientes de Manasés, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	34 Of the people of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
35 fueron registrados 32.200 hombres.	35 the number of the tribe of Manasseh was thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 En la lista de los descendientes de Benjamín, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	36 Of the people of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
37 fueron registrados 35.400 hombres.	37 the number of the tribe of Benjamin was thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38 En la lista de los descendientes de Dan, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	38 Of the people of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
39 fueron registrados 62.700 hombres.	39 the number of the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 En la lista de los descendientes de Aser, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todos los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	40 Of the people of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
41 fueron registrados 41.500 hombres.	41 the number of the tribe of Asher was forty-one thousand five hundred.
42 En la lista de los descendientes de Neftalí, por clanes y por familias –una vez anotados uno por uno los nombres de todo los varones que tenían más de veinte años, o sea, de los aptos para la guerra–	42 Of the people of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war:
43 fueron registrados 53.400 hombres.	43 the number of the tribe of Naphtali was fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Estos fueron los registrados por Moisés y Aarón, y por los jefes de Israel, que eran doce, uno por cada casa paterna.	44 These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered with the help of the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each representing his fathers' house.
45 Todos los israelitas que tenían más de veinte años, todos los hombres de Israel aptos para la guerra, fueron registrados por familias,	45 So the whole number of the people of Israel, by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go forth to war in Israel--
46 y los registrados fueron en total 603.550 hombres.	46 their whole number was six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
47 Pero la tribu de los levitas no fue registrada con las otras tribus,	47 But the Levites were not numbered by their ancestral tribe along with them.
48 porque el Señor había dicho a Moisés:	48 For the LORD said to Moses,
49 No inscribas en el registro a la tribu de Leví ni la incluyas en el censo de los israelitas.	49 "Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, and you shall not take a census of them among the people of Israel;
50 Tú encomendarás a los levitas el cuidado de la Morada del Testimonio, de sus enseres y de todo lo que está relacionado con ella. Ellos transportarán la Morada y todos sus enseres, se encargarán de su servicio y acamparán alrededor de ella.	50 but appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it; they are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall tend it, and shall encamp around the tabernacle.
51 Cuando la Morada se desplace, los levitas la desarmarán; y cuando se detenga, la armarán. El extraño que se acerque, será castigado con la muerte.	51 When the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up. And if any one else comes near, he shall be put to death.
52 Los israelitas acamparán los regimientos, cada uno con su propia división y bajo sus respectivos estandartes.	52 The people of Israel shall pitch their tents by their companies, every man by his own camp and every man by his own standard;
53 Los levitas, en cambio, lo harán alrededor de la Morada del Testimonio, para que la ira del Señor no se desate contra la comunidad de los israelitas. Ellos estarán encargados de custodiar la Morada del Testimonio.	53 but the Levites shall encamp around the tabernacle of the testimony, that there may be no wrath upon the congregation of the people of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the testimony."
54 Así lo hicieron los israelitas, ateniéndose exactamente a lo que el Señor había dicho a Moisés.	54 Thus did the people of Israel; they did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.
