Levítico 14

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Yahveh habló a Moisés diciendo:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 Esta es la ley que ha de aplicarse al leproso en el día de su purificación. Se le conducirá al sacerdote,	2 'This is the law to be applied on the day of the purification of someone who has suffered from acontagious skin-disease. Such a person wil be taken to the priest,
3 y el sacerdote saldrá fuera del campamento; si, tras de haberlo examinado, comprueba que el leproso está ya curado de la llaga de lepra,	3 and the priest wil go outside the camp. If he finds on examination that the person has recovered fromthe disease,
4 el sacerdote mandará traer para el que ha de ser purificado dos pájaros vivos y puros, madera de cedro, púrpura escarlata e hisopo.	4 he wil order the fol owing to be brought for his purification: two live birds that are clean, some cedar wood, scarlet material and hyssop.
5 Después mandará inmolar uno de los pájaros sobre una vasija de barro con agua viva.	5 He will then order one of the birds to be slaughtered in an earthenware pot over running water.
6 Tomará luego el pájaro vivo, la madera de cedro, la púrpura escarlata y el hisopo, los mojará, juntamente con el pájaro vivo, en la sangre del pájaro inmolado sobre el agua viva,	6 He will then take the live bird, the cedar wood, the scarlet material and the hyssop and dip all this(including the live bird) into the blood of the bird slaughtered over running water.
7 y rociará siete veces al que ha de ser purificado de la lepra. Y, tras de declararlo puro, soltará en el campo el pájaro vivo.	7 He will then sprinkle the person to be purified of the skin-disease seven times, and having declared theperson clean, wil set the live bird free to fly off into the countryside.
8 El que se purifica lavará sus vestidos, se afeitará todo su pelo, se bañará en agua, y quedará limpio. Después podrá entrar en el campamento; pero durante siete días ha de habitar fuera de su tienda.	8 The person who is being purified will then wash al clothing, shave off al hair, and wash, and wil thenbe clean. After this he will return to the camp, although he wil remain outside his tent for seven days.
9 El día séptimo se afeitará todo su pelo, su cabellera, su barba, sus cejas, es decir, se afeitará todo su pelo, lavará también sus vestidos, bañará su cuerpo en agua y quedará limpio.	9 On the seventh day he wil shave off all his hair-head, beard and eyebrows; he wil shave off al hishair. After washing his clothing and his body he wil be clean.
10 El día octavo tomará dos corderos sin defecto y una cordera de un año sin defecto; y como oblación, tres décimas de flor de harina amasada con aceite y un cuartillo de aceite.	10 'On the eighth day he wil take two unblemished lambs, an unblemished ewe one year old, three-tenths of wheaten flour mixed with oil for the cereal offering, and one log of oil.
11 El sacerdote que hace la purificación presentará ante Yahveh, junto con todas esas cosas, al hombre que ha de purificarse, a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro.	11 The priest who is performing the purification will place the person who is being purified, with all hisofferings, at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh.
12 El sacerdote tomará uno de los corderos para ofrecerlo como sacrificio de reparación, además del cuartillo de aceite, y lo mecerá como ofrenda ante Yahveh.	12 He wil then take one of the lambs and offer it as a sacrifice of reparation, as also the log of oil. Withthese he wil make the gesture of offering before Yahweh.
13 Luego inmolará el cordero en el lugar donde se inmola el sacrificio por el pecado y el holocausto, en lugar sagrado; porque, tanto en el sacrificio por el pecado como en el sacrificio de reparación, la víctima pertenece al sacerdote; es cosa sacratísima.	13 He wil then slaughter the lamb on that spot inside the holy place where the victims for the sacrificefor sin and for the burnt offering are slaughtered. This reparatory offering, like the sacrifice for sin, wil revert tothe priest: it is especially holy.
14 Después el sacerdote tomará sangre de la víctima de reparación y mojará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se está purificando, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el de su pie derecho.	14 The priest wil then take some blood of this sacrifice and put it on the lobe of the right ear, the thumbof the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person who is being purified.
15 Y, tomando del cuartillo de aceite, el sacerdote echará parte de él sobre la palma de su mano izquierda.	15 He wil then take the log of oil and pour a little into the hol ow of his left hand.
16 Después untará un dedo de su mano derecha en el aceite que tiene en la palma de su mano izquierda, y con su dedo hará siete aspersiones de aceite delante de Yahveh.	16 He wil dip a finger of his right hand into the oil in the hollow of his left hand, and sprinkle the oil withhis finger seven times before Yahweh.
17 Con el aceite restante que tiene en su mano el sacerdote untará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el de su pie derecho sobre la sangre de la víctima de reparación.	17 He wil then take some of the oil left in the hollow of his hand and put it on the lobe of the right ear,the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified, in addition to the bloodof the sacrifice of reparation.
18 El resto del aceite que quede en la mano del sacerdote, se echará sobre la cabeza del que se purifica. El sacerdote expiará así por él ante Yahveh.	18 The rest of the oil in the hol ow of his hand he will put on the head of the person who is being purified.This is how the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for such a person before Yahweh.
19 El sacerdote ofrecerá el sacrificio por el pecado y hará expiación por el que se purifica de su impureza; después inmolará el holocausto.	19 'The priest wil then offer the sacrifice for sin, and perform the rite of expiation for uncleanness for theperson who is being purified. After this, he wil slaughter the burnt offering
20 Y ofrecerá sobre el altar el holocausto y la oblación. De esta manera el sacerdote hará expiación por él y quedará limpio.	20 and offer this and the cereal offering on the altar. So, when the priest has performed the rite ofexpiation for him the person wil be clean.
21 Si es pobre y no tiene suficientes recursos, tomará un cordero como sacrificio de reparación, como ofrenda mecida, para hacer expiación por él, y además, como oblación, una décima de flor de harina amasada con aceite, un cuartillo de aceite,	21 'If he is poor and cannot afford al this, he need take only one lamb, the one for the sacrifice ofreparation, and this will be presented with the gesture of offering to perform the rite of expiation for him. And forthe cereal offering he wil only take one-tenth of wheaten flour mixed with oil, and the log of oil,
22 y dos tórtolas o dos pichones, según sus recursos, uno como sacrificio por el pecado, y otro como holocausto.	22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford, one for a sacrifice for sin and theother for the burnt offering.
23 Al octavo día, los llevará al sacerdote, a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro para su purificación delante de Yahveh.	23 He wil bring these on the eighth day to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting beforeYahweh, for his purification.
24 El sacerdote tomará el cordero del sacrificio de reparación y el cuartillo de aceite, y los mecerá como ofrenda ante Yahveh.	24 The priest wil take the lamb for the sacrifice of reparation and the log of oil, and present them beforeYahweh with the gesture of offering.
25 Después de haber inmolado el cordero del sacrificio de reparación, el sacerdote tomará sangre de la víctima de reparación y mojará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el de su pie derecho.	25 He wil then slaughter the lamb for the sacrifice of reparation, take some of its blood and put it on thelobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot of the person who is beingpurified.
26 Luego derramará parte del aceite sobre la palma de su mano izquierda;	26 He wil pour the oil into the hol ow of his left hand,
27 con un dedo de su mano derecha hará ante Yahveh siete aspersiones con el aceite que tiene en la palma de la mano izquierda,	27 and with his finger sprinkle the oil in the hol ow of his left hand seven times before Yahweh.
28 untará con el aceite que tiene en su mano el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el de su pie derecho, en el lugar donde puso la sangre de la víctima de reparación.	28 He wil then put some of the oil on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the bigtoe of the right foot of the person who is being purified, as he did with the blood of the sacrifice of reparation.
29 Derramará el resto del aceite que le quede en la mano sobre la cabeza del que se purifica, haciendo expiación por él ante Yahveh.	29 The remainder of the oil in the hol ow of his hand he wil put on the head of the person who is beingpurified, thus performing the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh.
30 Luego ofrecerá, conforme a los recursos suyos, una de las tórtolas o de los pichones,	30 Of the two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- whatever he has been able to afford -- he wil offer
31 es decir, lo que alcanzan sus recursos, uno como sacrificio por el pecado, y otro como holocausto, además de la oblación. De este modo el sacerdote hará expiación ante Yahveh por aquel que se purifica.	31 a sacrifice for sin with one, and with the other a burnt offering with a cereal offering -- whatever hehas been able to afford. This is how the priest will perform before Yahweh the rite of expiation for the person whois being purified.
32 Esta es la ley de purificación para aquel que tiene llaga de lepra y cuyos recursos son limitados.	32 'Such is the law concerning someone with a contagious skin-disease who cannot afford the means ofpurification.'
33 Yahveh habló a Moisés y a Aarón diciendo:	33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said:
34 Cuando hayáis entrado en la tierra de Canaán que yo os doy en posesión, y castigue con lepra alguna de las casas de la tierra que poseeréis,	34 'When you reach Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, if I infect a house with adisease in the country which you are to possess,
35 el propietario de la casa irá a avisar al sacerdote, diciendo: «Ha aparecido algo como lepra en mi casa.»	35 the owner wil come and inform the priest and say, "I have seen something like a skin-disease in thehouse."
36 El sacerdote, antes de entrar en la casa para examinar la lepra, ordenará que desocupen la casa, para que nada quede inmundo de cuanto hay en ella. Después entrará el sacerdote a examinar la casa.	36 The priest wil order the house to be emptied before he goes to examine the infection, or everything inthe house wil become unclean; after which, the priest wil go inside and examine the house;
37 Si al examinarla observa que la mancha forma en las paredes de la casa cavidades verdosas y rojizas que parecen hundidas en la pared,	37 and if on examination he finds the wal s of the house pitted with reddish or greenish depressionswhich appear to be eating away the wall,
38 el sacerdote saldrá a la puerta de la casa y la cerrará durante siete días.	38 the priest wil then go out of the house, to the door, and shut it up for seven days.
39 Volverá al día séptimo, y si comprueba que la mancha se ha extendido por las paredes de la casa,	39 On the seventh day, the priest will come back and if on examination he finds that the infection hasspread over the walls of the house,
40 mandará arrancar las piedras manchadas y arrojarlas fuera de la ciudad en un lugar inmundo.	40 he wil order the infected stones to be removed and thrown into some unclean place outside the town.
41 Hará raspar todo el interior de la casa; y echarán fuera de la ciudad, en un lugar inmundo, el polvo que hayan quitado.	41 He wil then have all the inside of the house scraped, and the plaster that comes off will be emptied inan unclean place outside the town.
42 Luego tomarán otras piedras y las pondrán en lugar de las primeras; y también argamasa nueva para revocar la casa.	42 The stones wil then be replaced with new ones and the house given a new coat of plaster.
43 Si la mancha vuelve a extenderse por la casa después de haber arrancado las piedras, y de haberla raspado y revocado,	43 'If the infection spreads again after the stones have been removed and the house scraped andreplastered,
44 el sacerdote entrará de nuevo; y si comprueba que la mancha se ha extendido por la casa, hay un caso de lepra maligna en la casa, y ésta es impura.	44 the priest wil come and examine it. If he finds that the infection has spread, this means that there is acontagious disease in the house: it is unclean.
45 Se derribará la casa. Sus piedras, sus maderas y todo el material de la casa será sacado fuera de la ciudad a un lugar inmundo.	45 It must be pul ed down and the stones, woodwork and al the plaster be taken to an unclean placeoutside the town.
46 Quien entre en esa casa durante el tiempo que esté clausurada quedará impuro hasta la tarde.	46 'Anyone who enters the house while it is closed wil be unclean until evening.
47 El que duerma en ella habrá de lavar sus vestidos; y también el que coma en ella habrá de lavarlos.	47 Anyone who sleeps there wil wash his clothes. Anyone who eats there will wash his clothes.
48 Mas si el sacerdote comprueba al entrar que, después de revocada la casa, la mancha no se ha extendido por ella, la declarará pura, pues se ha curado del mal.	48 But if the priest finds, when he comes to examine the infection, that it has not spread in the housesince it was plastered, he wil declare the house clean, for the infection is cured.
49 Entonces, para ofrecer por la casa un sacrificio por el pecado, tomará dos pájaros, madera de cedro, púrpura escarlata e hisopo;	49 'As a sacrifice for the defilement of the house, he wil take two birds, some cedar wood, scarletmaterial and hyssop.
50 inmolará uno de los pájaros sobre una vasija de barro con agua viva	50 He wil slaughter one of the birds in an earthenware pot over running water.
51 y, tomando la madera de cedro, el hisopo y la púrpura escarlata, con el pájaro vivo, los mojará en la sangre del pájaro degollado y en el agua viva; y rociará la casa siete veces.	51 He wil then take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet material and the live bird, dip them into theblood of the slaughtered bird and into the running water and sprinkle the house seven times;
52 Y, tras haber realizado el sacrificio por el pecado en favor de la casa con la sangre del pájaro, con el agua viva, el pájaro vivo, la madera de cedro, el hisopo y la lana escarlata,	52 and after offering the sacrifice for the defilement of the house with the blood of the bird, the runningwater, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet material,
53 soltará el pájaro vivo fuera de la ciudad, en el campo. De este modo hará expiación por la casa, la cual quedará pura.	53 he wil set the live bird free to fly out of the town into the countryside. Once the rite of expiation hasbeen performed for the house in this way it wil be clean.
54 Esta es la ley para toda clase de lepra o de tiña,	54 'Such is the law governing all kinds of skin-disease and tinea,
55 para la lepra del vestido y de la casa,	55 diseases of clothing and houses,
56 para los tumores, erupciones y manchas blancas,	56 swel ings, scabs and spots. It defines the occasions when things are unclean and when clean.
57 y para declarar los períodos de impureza y de pureza. Esta es la ley de la lepra.	57 Such is the law on skin-diseases.'
