1 וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 בֶּן־אָדָם שִׂים פָּנֶיךָ אֶל־גֹּוג אֶרֶץ הַמָּגֹוג נְשִׂיא רֹאשׁ מֶשֶׁךְ וְתֻבָל וְהִנָּבֵא עָלָיו	2 'Son of man, turn towards Gog, to the country of Magog, towards the paramount prince of Meshechand Tubal, and prophesy against him.
3 וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי אֵלֶיךָ גֹּוג נְשִׂיא רֹאשׁ מֶשֶׁךְ וְתֻבָל	3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am against you, Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 וְשֹׁובַבְתִּיךָ וְנָתַתִּי חַחִים בִּלְחָיֶיךָ וְהֹוצֵאתִי אֹותְךָ וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילֶךָ סוּסִים וּפָרָשִׁים לְבֻשֵׁי מִכְלֹול כֻּלָּם קָהָל רָב צִנָּה וּמָגֵן תֹּפְשֵׂי חֲרָבֹות כֻּלָּם	4 I shal turn you about, I shall fix hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your entire army, horses andhorsemen, al perfectly equipped, a huge array armed with shields and bucklers, and al wielding swords.
5 פָּרַס כּוּשׁ וּפוּט אִתָּם כֻּלָּם מָגֵן וְכֹובָע	5 Persia and Cush and Put are with them, al with buckler and helmet;
6 גֹּמֶר וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּיהָ בֵּית תֹּוגַרְמָה יַרְכְּתֵי צָפֹון וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲגַפָּיו עַמִּים רַבִּים אִתָּךְ	6 Gomer and al its troops, Beth-Togarmah in the far north and al its troops, and many nations with you.
7 הִכֹּן וְהָכֵן לְךָ אַתָּה וְכָל־קְהָלֶךָ הַנִּקְהָלִים עָלֶיךָ וְהָיִיתָ לָהֶם לְמִשְׁמָר	7 Be ready, be wel prepared, you and al your troops and the others rallying to you, and hold yourself atmy service.
8 מִיָּמִים רַבִּים תִּפָּקֵד בְּאַחֲרִית הַשָּׁנִים תָּבֹוא ׀ אֶל־אֶרֶץ ׀ מְשֹׁובֶבֶת מֵחֶרֶב מְקֻבֶּצֶת מֵעַמִּים רַבִּים עַל הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־הָיוּ לְחָרְבָּה תָּמִיד וְהִיא מֵעַמִּים הוּצָאָה וְיָשְׁבוּ לָבֶטַח כֻּלָּם	8 "Many days will pass before you are given orders; in the final years you wil march on this country,whose inhabitants wil have been living in confidence, remote from other peoples, since they escaped the swordand were gathered in from various nations, here in the long-deserted mountains of Israel.
9 וְעָלִיתָ כַּשֹּׁאָה תָבֹוא כֶּעָנָן לְכַסֹּות הָאָרֶץ תִּהְיֶה אַתָּה וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּיךָ וְעַמִּים רַבִּים אֹותָךְ׃ ס	9 Like a storm you wil approach, you wil advance and cover the country like a cloud, you, al yourtroops and many nations with you.
10 כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְהָיָה ׀ בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יַעֲלוּ דְבָרִים עַל־לְבָבֶךָ וְחָשַׁבְתָּ מַחֲשֶׁבֶת רָעָה	10 "The Lord Yahweh says this: That day, a thought wil enter your mind and you wil form a sinisterplan.
11 וְאָמַרְתָּ אֶעֱלֶה עַל־אֶרֶץ פְּרָזֹות אָבֹוא הַשֹּׁקְטִים יֹשְׁבֵי לָבֶטַח כֻּלָּם יֹשְׁבִים בְּאֵין חֹומָה וּבְרִיחַ וּדְלָתַיִם אֵין לָהֶם	11 You wil think: I shal attack this undefended country and march on this peaceful nation living secure,al living in towns without wal s or bars or gates.
12 לִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל וְלָבֹז בַּז לְהָשִׁיב יָדְךָ עַל־חֳרָבֹות נֹושָׁבֹת וְאֶל־עַם מְאֻסָּף מִגֹּויִם עֹשֶׂה מִקְנֶה וְקִנְיָן יֹשְׁבֵי עַל־טַבּוּר הָאָרֶץ	12 You wil come to plunder and loot and turn your might against the ruins they live in, against thispeople gathered back from the nations, these stock-breeders and traders who live at the Navel of the World.
13 שְׁבָא וּדְדָן וְסֹחֲרֵי תַרְשִׁישׁ וְכָל־כְּפִרֶיהָ יֹאמְרוּ לְךָ הֲלִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל אַתָּה בָא הֲלָבֹז בַּז הִקְהַלְתָּ קְהָלֶךָ לָשֵׂאת ׀ כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב לָקַחַת מִקְנֶה וְקִנְיָן לִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל גָּדֹול׃ ס	13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants and all the magnates of Tarshish wil ask you: Have you come forplunder? Are you massing your troops with a view to looting? To make off with gold and silver, seize cattle and goods, and come away with unlimited spoil?"
14 לָכֵן הִנָּבֵא בֶן־אָדָם וְאָמַרְתָּ לְגֹוג כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הֲלֹוא ׀ בַּיֹּום הַהוּא בְּשֶׁבֶת עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָבֶטַח תֵּדָע	14 'So, son of man, prophesy. Say to Gog, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Is it not true that you will set outat a time when my people Israel is living secure?
15 וּבָאתָ מִמְּקֹומְךָ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי צָפֹון אַתָּה וְעַמִּים רַבִּים אִתָּךְ רֹכְבֵי סוּסִים כֻּלָּם קָהָל גָּדֹול וְחַיִל רָב	15 You wil leave your home in the far north, you and many nations with you, a great army of countlesstroops all mounted.
16 וְעָלִיתָ עַל־עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל כֶּעָנָן לְכַסֹּות הָאָרֶץ בְּאַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים תִּהְיֶה וַהֲבִאֹותִיךָ עַל־אַרְצִי לְמַעַן דַּעַת הַגֹּויִם אֹתִי בְּהִקָּדְשִׁי בְךָ לְעֵינֵיהֶם גֹּוג׃ ס	16 You wil invade Israel, my people. You will be like a cloud covering the country. In the final days, Imyself shal bring you to attack my country, so that the nations will know who I am, when I display my holiness tothem, by means of you, Gog.
17 כֹּה־אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הַאַתָּה־הוּא אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּרְתִּי בְּיָמִים קַדְמֹונִים בְּיַד עֲבָדַי נְבִיאֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הַנִּבְּאִים בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם שָׁנִים לְהָבִיא אֹתְךָ עֲלֵיהֶם׃ ס	17 "The Lord Yahweh says this: It was of you that I spoke in the past through my servants the prophetsof Israel, who prophesied in those days, foretel ing your invasion.
18 וְהָיָה ׀ בַּיֹּום הַהוּא בְּיֹום בֹּוא גֹוג עַל־אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה תַּעֲלֶה חֲמָתִי בְּאַפִּי	18 The day Gog attacks the land of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- my furious wrath will boil up. Inmy anger,
19 וּבְקִנְאָתִי בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי אִם־לֹא ׀ בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יִהְיֶה רַעַשׁ גָּדֹול עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל	19 in my jealousy, in the heat of my fury I say it: That day, I swear, there wil be such a huge earthquakein the land of Israel,
20 וְרָעֲשׁוּ מִפָּנַי דְּגֵי הַיָּם וְעֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם וְחַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְכָל־הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאֲדָמָה וְכֹל הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וְנֶהֶרְסוּ הֶהָרִים וְנָפְלוּ הַמַּדְרֵגֹות וְכָל־חֹומָה לָאָרֶץ תִּפֹּול	20 that the fish in the sea and the birds of heaven, the wild beasts, al the reptiles creeping along theground, and al people on the surface of the earth will quake before me. Mountains wil fall, cliffs crumble, alwal s col apse, and
21 וְקָרָאתִי עָלָיו לְכָל־הָרַי חֶרֶב נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה חֶרֶב אִישׁ בְּאָחִיו תִּהְיֶה	21 I shal summon every kind of sword against him -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- and each will turn hissword against his comrade.
22 וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּי אִתֹּו בְּדֶבֶר וּבְדָם וְגֶשֶׁם שֹׁוטֵף וְאַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית אַמְטִיר עָלָיו וְעַל־אֲגַפָּיו וְעַל־עַמִּים רַבִּים אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו	22 I shal punish him with plague and bloodshed, and rain down torrential rain, hailstones, fire andbrimstone on him, on his troops and on the many nations with him.
23 וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּי וְנֹודַעְתִּי לְעֵינֵי גֹּויִם רַבִּים וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ ס	23 I shal display my greatness and holiness and bring the many nations to acknowledge me; and theywil know that I am Yahweh." '
