Vangelo secondo Matteo (متى) 4

SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ثم أصعد يسوع الى البرية من الروح ليجرب من ابليس.	1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit out into the desert to be put to the test by the devil.
2 فبعدما صام اربعين نهارا واربعين ليلة جاع اخيرا.	2 He fasted for forty days and forty nights, after which he was hungry,
3 فتقدم اليه المجرب وقال له ان كنت ابن الله فقل ان تصير هذه الحجارة خبزا.	3 and the tester came and said to him, 'If you are Son of God, tel these stones to turn into loaves.'
4 فاجاب وقال مكتوب ليس بالخبز وحده يحيا الانسان بل بكل كلمة تخرج من فم الله.	4 But he replied, 'Scripture says: Human beings live not on bread alone but on every word that comesfrom the mouth of God.'
5 ثم اخذه ابليس الى المدينة المقدسة واوقفه على جناح الهيكل.	5 The devil then took him to the holy city and set him on the parapet of the Temple.
6 وقال له ان كنت ابن الله فاطرح نفسك الى اسفل. لانه مكتوب انه يوصي ملائكته بك. فعلى اياديهم يحملونك لكي لا تصدم بحجر رجلك.	6 'If you are Son of God,' he said, 'throw yourself down; for scripture says: He has given his angels ordersabout you, and they will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.'
7 قال له يسوع مكتوب ايضا لا تجرب الرب الهك.	7 Jesus said to him, 'Scripture also says: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'
8 ثم اخذه ايضا ابليس الى جبل عال جدا واراه جميع ممالك العالم ومجدها.	8 Next, taking him to a very high mountain, the devil showed him al the kingdoms of the world and theirsplendour.
9 وقال له اعطيك هذه جميعها ان خررت وسجدت لي.	9 And he said to him, 'I wil give you al these, if you fal at my feet and do me homage.'
10 حينئذ قال له يسوع اذهب يا شيطان. لانه مكتوب للرب الهك تسجد واياه وحده تعبد.	10 Then Jesus replied, 'Away with you, Satan! For scripture says: The Lord your God is the one to whomyou must do homage, him alone you must serve.'
11 ثم تركه ابليس واذا ملائكة قد جاءت فصارت تخدمه	11 Then the devil left him, and suddenly angels appeared and looked after him.
12 ولما سمع يسوع ان يوحنا اسلم انصرف الى الجليل.	12 Hearing that John had been arrested he withdrew to Galilee,
13 وترك الناصرة واتى فسكن في كفرناحوم التي عند البحر في تخوم زبولون ونفتاليم.	13 and leaving Nazara he went and settled in Capernaum, beside the lake, on the borders of Zebulun andNaphtali.
14 لكي يتم ما قيل باشعياء النبي القائل.	14 This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:
15 ارض زبولون وارض نفتاليم طريق البحر عبر الاردن جليل الامم.	15 Land of Zebulun! Land of Naphtali! Way of the sea beyond Jordan. Galilee of the nations!
16 الشعب الجالس في ظلمة ابصر نورا عظيما. والجالسون في كورة الموت وظلاله اشرق عليهم نور.	16 The people that lived in darkness have seen a great light; on those who lived in a country of shadowdark as death a light has dawned.
17 من ذلك الزمان ابتدأ يسوع يكرز ويقول توبوا لانه قد اقترب ملكوت السموات	17 From then onwards Jesus began his proclamation with the message, 'Repent, for the kingdom ofHeaven is close at hand.'
18 واذ كان يسوع ماشيا عند بحر الجليل ابصر اخوين سمعان الذي يقال له بطرس واندراوس اخاه يلقيان شبكة في البحر فانهما كانا صيادين.	18 As he was walking by the Lake of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon, who was cal ed Peter, and hisbrother Andrew; they were making a cast into the lake with their net, for they were fishermen.
19 فقال لهما هلم ورائي فاجعلكما صيادي الناس.	19 And he said to them, 'Come after me and I wil make you fishers of people.'
20 فللوقت تركا الشباك وتبعاه.	20 And at once they left their nets and followed him.
21 ثم اجتاز من هناك فرأى اخوين آخرين يعقوب بن زبدي ويوحنا اخاه في السفينة مع زبدي ابيهما يصلحان شباكهما فدعاهما.	21 Going on from there he saw another pair of brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John;they were in their boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he cal ed them.
22 فللوقت تركا السفينة واباهما وتبعاه	22 And at once, leaving the boat and their father, they fol owed him.
23 وكان يسوع يطوف كل الجليل يعلم في مجامعهم ويكرز ببشارة الملكوت ويشفي كل مرض وكل ضعف في الشعب.	23 He went round the whole of Galilee teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of thekingdom and curing al kinds of disease and il ness among the people.
24 فذاع خبره في جميع سورية. فاحضروا اليه جميع السقماء المصابين بامراض واوجاع مختلفة والمجانين والمصروعين والمفلوجين فشفاهم.	24 His fame spread throughout Syria, and those who were suffering from diseases and painful complaintsof one kind or another, the possessed, epileptics, the paralysed, were all brought to him, and he cured them.
25 فتبعته جموع كثيرة من الجليل والعشر المدن واورشليم واليهودية ومن عبر الاردن	25 Large crowds fol owed him, coming from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judaea and Transjordan.
