1 وفي السنة الثامنة عشر للملك يربعام بن نباط ملك ابيام على يهوذا.	1 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam became king of Judah
2 ملك ثلاث سنين في اورشليم. واسم امه معكة ابنة ابشالوم.	2 and reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah descendant of Absalom.
3 وسار في جميع خطايا ابيه التي عملها قبله ولم يكن قلبه كاملا مع الرب الهه كقلب داود ابيه.	3 In everything he fol owed the sinful example of his father before him; his heart was not wholly withYahweh his God, as the heart of David his ancestor had been.
4 ولكن لاجل داود اعطاه الرب الهه سراجا في اورشليم اذ اقام ابنه بعده وثبت اورشليم.	4 However, for David's sake, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, with a son to succeed him,so keeping Jerusalem secure;
5 لان داود عمل ما هو مستقيم في عيني الرب ولم يحد عن شيء مما اوصاه به كل ايام حياته الا في قضية اوريا الحثّي.	5 for David had done what Yahweh regarded as right and had never in all his life disobeyed whatever hecommanded him (except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite).
6 وكانت حرب بين رحبعام ويربعام كل ايام حياته.	6 .
7 وبقية امور ابيام وكل ما عمل أما هي مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك يهوذا. وكانت حرب بين ابيام ويربعام.	7 The rest of the history of Abijam, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of theKings of Judah? Abijam and Jeroboam made war on each other.
8 ثم اضطجع ابيام مع آبائه فدفنوه في مدينة داود وملك آسا ابنه عوضا عنه	8 When Abijam fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in the City of David; his son Asa succeededhim.
9 وفي السنة العشرين ليربعام ملك اسرائيل ملك آسا على يهوذا.	9 In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa became king of Judah
10 ملك احدى واربعين سنة في اورشليم. واسم امه معكة ابنة ابشالوم.	10 and reigned for forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah descendant ofAbsalom.
11 وعمل آسا ما هو مستقيم في عيني الرب كداود ابيه.	11 Asa did what Yahweh regards as right, as his ancestor David had done.
12 وازال المأبونين من الارض ونزع جميع الاصنام التي عملها آباؤه.	12 He drove the male prostitutes out of the country and got rid of all the idols which his ancestors hadmade.
13 حتى ان معكة امه خلعها من ان تكون ملكة لانها عملت تمثالا لسارية وقطع آسا تمثالها واحرقه في وادي قدرون.	13 He even deprived his grandmother Maacah of the dignity of Great Lady for having made an obscenityfor Asherah; Asa cut down her obscenity and burnt it in the ravine of the Kidron.
14 واما المرتفعات فلم تنزع الا ان قلب آسا كان كاملا مع الرب كل ايامه.	14 Though the high places were not abolished, Asa's heart was loyal to Yahweh throughout his life.
15 وادخل اقداس ابيه واقداسه الى بيت الرب من الفضة والذهب والآنية.	15 He deposited his father's and his own dedicated gifts of silver, gold and sacred vessels in the Templeof Yahweh.
16 وكانت حرب بين آسا وبعشا ملك اسرائيل كل ايامهما.	16 Asa and Baasha king of Israel were at war with each other throughout their reigns.
17 وصعد بعشا ملك اسرائيل على يهوذا وبنى الرامة لكي لا يدع احد يخرج او يدخل الى آسا ملك يهوذا.	17 Baasha king of Israel marched on Judah and fortified Ramah to blockade Asa king of Judah.
18 واخذ آسا جميع الفضة والذهب الباقية في خزائن بيت الرب وخزائن بيت الملك ودفعها ليد عبيده وارسلهم الملك آسا الى بنهدد بن طبريمون بن حزيون ملك ارام الساكن في دمشق قائلا	18 Asa then took al the remaining silver and gold left in the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh and theroyal palace. Entrusting this to his servants, King Asa sent them with the fol owing message to Ben-Hadad sonof Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, the king of Aram who lived in Damascus,
19 ان بيني وبينك وبين ابي وابيك عهدا. هوذا قد ارسلت لك هدية من فضة وذهب فتعال انقض عهدك مع بعشا ملك اسرائيل فيصعد عني.	19 'Let us make an al iance between myself and yourself, between my father and your father! Look, Ihave sent you a gift of silver and gold. Come, break off your al iance with Baasha king of Israel, which wil makehim withdraw from me.'
20 فسمع بنهدد للملك آسا وارسل رؤساء الجيوش التي له على مدن اسرائيل وضرب عيون ودان وآبل بيت معكة وكل كنّروت مع كل ارض نفتالي.	20 Ben-Hadad listened favourably to King Asa, and sent the generals of his armies to attack the towns ofIsrael; he ravaged Ijon, Dan, Abel-Beth-Maacah, al Chinneroth, and the whole territory of Naphtali.
21 ولما سمع بعشا كف عن بناء الرامة واقام في ترصة.	21 When Baasha heard this he gave up fortifying Ramah and retired to Tirzah.
22 فاستدعى الملك آسا كل يهوذا. لم يكن بريء. فحملوا كل حجارة الرامة واخشابها التي بناها بعشا وبنى بها الملك آسا جبع بنيامين والمصفاة.	22 King Asa then summoned al Judah, no one was exempt; they took away the stones and timber withwhich Baasha had been fortifying Ramah, and King Asa used them to fortify Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.
23 وبقية كل امور آسا وكل جبروته وكل ما فعل والمدن التي بناها أما هي مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك يهوذا. غير انه في زمان شيخوخته مرض في رجليه.	23 The rest of the history of Asa, al his valour, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of theAnnals of the Kings of Judah? In his old age, however, he contracted a disease of his feet.
24 ثم اضطجع آسا مع آبائه ودفن مع آبائه في مدينة داود ابيه وملك يهوشافاط ابنه عوضا عنه	24 When Asa fell asleep with his ancestors, he was buried with his ancestors in the City of his ancestorDavid; his son Jehoshaphat succeeded him.
25 وملك ناداب بن يربعام على اسرائيل في السنة الثانية لآسا ملك يهوذا فملك على اسرائيل سنتين.	25 Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and hereigned over Israel for two years.
26 وعمل الشر في عيني الرب وسار في طريق ابيه وفي خطيته التي جعل بها اسرائيل يخطئ.	26 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he copied his father's example and the sin into which he hadled Israel.
27 وفتن عليه بعشا بن اخيا من بيت يساكر وضربه بعشا في جبثون التي للفلسطينيين وكان ناداب وكل اسرائيل محاصرين جبثون.	27 Baasha son of Ahijah, of the House of Issachar, plotted against him and murdered him at Gibbethon,a Philistine town which Nadab and all Israel were besieging.
28 واماته بعشا في السنة الثالثة لآسا ملك يهوذا وملك عوضا عنه.	28 Baasha kil ed Nadab and succeeded him in the third year of Asa king of Judah.
29 ولما ملك ضرب كل بيت يربعام. لم يبق نسمة ليربعام حتى افناهم حسب كلام الرب الذي تكلم به عن يد عبده اخيا الشيلوني.	29 No sooner was he king than he butchered the entire House of Jeroboam, not sparing a soul, and putan end to it, just as Yahweh had foretold through his servant Ahijah of Shiloh,
30 لاجل خطايا يربعام التي اخطأها والتي جعل بها اسرائيل يخطئ باغاظته التي اغاظ بها الرب اله اسرائيل.	30 because of the sins which he had committed and into which he had led Israel, and because he hadprovoked the anger of Yahweh, God of Israel.
31 وبقية أمور ناداب وكل ما عمل أما هي مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك اسرائيل.	31 The rest of the history of Nadab, his entire career, is this not recorded in
32 وكانت حرب بين آسا وبعشا ملك اسرائيل كل ايامهما	32 the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Israel?
33 في السنة الثالثة لآسا ملك يهوذا ملك بعشا بن اخيا على جميع اسرائيل في ترصة اربعا وعشرين سنة.	33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah became king of Israel at Tirzah fortwenty-four years.
34 وعمل الشر في عيني الرب وسار في طريق يربعام وفي خطيته التي جعل بها اسرائيل يخطئ	34 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he copied the example of Jeroboam and the sin into which hehad led Israel.
