1 Moisés foi amado por Deus e pelos homens: sua memória é abençoada.	1 From him was to spring the man who won the favor of all: Dear to God and men, MOSES, whose memory is held in benediction.
2 O Senhor deu-lhe uma glória semelhante à dos santos; tornou-se poderoso e temido por seus inimigos.	2 God's honor devolved upon him, and the Lord strengthened him with fearful powers;
3 Glorificou-o na presença dos reis, prescreveu-lhe suas ordens diante do seu povo, e mostrou-lhe a sua glória.	3 God wrought swift miracles at his words and sustained him in the king's presence. He gave him the commandments for his people, and revealed to him his glory.
4 Santificou-o pela sua fé e mansidão, escolheu-o entre todos os homens.	4 For his trustworthiness and meekness God selected him from all mankind;
5 Pois (Deus) atendeu-o, ouviu sua voz e o introduziu na nuvem.	5 He permitted him to hear his voice, and led him into the cloud, Where, face to face, he gave him the commandments, the law of life and understanding, That he might teach his precepts to Jacob, his judgments and decrees to Israel.
6 Deu-lhe seus preceitos perante (seu povo) e a lei da vida e da ciência, para ensinar a Jacó sua aliança e a Israel seus decretos.	6 He raised up also, like Moses in holiness, his brother AARON, of the tribe of Levi.
7 Exaltou seu irmão Aarão, semelhante a ele, da tribo de Levi.	7 He made him perpetual in his office when he bestowed on him the priesthood of his people; He established him in honor and crowned him with lofty majesty;
8 Fez com ele uma aliança eterna, deu-lhe o sacerdócio do seu povo, e cumulou-o de felicidade e de glória.	8 He clothed him with splendid apparel, and adorned him with the glorious vestments: Breeches and tunic and robe with pomegranates around the hem,
9 Adornou-o com um cinto de honra, revestiu-o de um manto de glória, coroou-o com todo esse aparato majestoso.	9 And a rustle of bells round about, through whose pleasing sound at each step He would be heard within the sanctuary, and the children of his race would be remembered;
10 Deu-lhe a longa túnica, a túnica inferior e o efod, cujas bordas eram ornadas de numerosas campainhas, 11. que deviam retinir, quando ele andasse, e se ouvisse o seu som no templo, para advertir os filhos de seu povo.	10 The sacred vestments of gold, of violet, and of crimson, wrought with embroidery; The breastpiece for decision, the ephod and cincture
	11 with scarlet yarn, the work of the weaver; Precious stones with seal engravings in golden settings, the work of the jeweler, To commemorate in incised letters each of the tribes of Israel;
12 Deu-lhe uma túnica santa, tecida de ouro, de pedras preciosas e de púrpura, obra de um homem sábio, dotado de juízo e de verdade.	12 On his turban the diadem of gold, its plate wrought with the insignia of holiness, Majestic, glorious, renowned for splendor, a delight to the eyes, beauty supreme.
13 Era uma obra de artista, de fio de escarlate, com doze pedras preciosas engastadas no ouro, gravadas pelo trabalho do lapidador, em memória das doze tribos de Israel.	13 Before him, no one was adorned with these, nor may they ever be worn by any Except his sons and them alone, generation after generation, for all time.

17 Os sacrifícios foram diariamente consumidos pelo fogo.	17 He gave to him his laws, and authority to prescribe and to judge: To teach the precepts to his people, and the ritual to the descendants of Israel.

19 Deus fez com ele e com sua raça uma aliança eterna, que durará tanto quanto os dias do céu, para exercer o sacerdócio, para cantar os louvores do Senhor, e abençoar solenemente o seu povo em seu nome.	19 But the LORD saw this and became angry, he destroyed them in his burning wrath. He brought down upon them a miracle, and consumed them with his flaming fire.
20 Escolheu-o entre todos os viventes para oferecer a Deus o sacrifício, o incenso e o perfume da lembrança, e para fazer a expiação em favor do seu povo.	20 Then he increased the glory of Aaron and bestowed upon him his inheritance: The sacred offerings he allotted to him, with the showbread as his portion;
21 Deu-lhe autoridade sobre seus preceitos, e sobre as disposições dos seus julgamentos, para ensinar a Jacó seus mandamentos, e explicar sua lei a Israel.	21 The oblations of the LORD are his food, a gift to him and his descendants.
22 Estrangeiros conspiraram contra ele; por inveja, homens o cercaram no deserto, que eram do partido de Datã e Abiron, e da facção furiosa de Coré.	22 But he holds no land among the people nor shares with them their heritage; For the LORD himself is his portion, his inheritance in the midst of Israel.
23 Viu isso o Senhor, e não lhe agradou, e foram destruídos pela impetuosidade de sua cólera.	23 PHINEHAS too, the son of Eleazar, was the courageous third of his line When, zealous for the God of all, he met the crisis of his people And, at the prompting of his noble heart, atoned for the children of Israel.

25 Aumentou ainda mais a glória de Aarão: deu-lhe uma herança, destinou-lhe as primícias dos frutos da terra.	25 For even his covenant with David, the son of Jesse of the tribe of Judah, Was an individual heritage through one son alone; but the heritage of Aaron is for all his descendants.
26 Antes de tudo, preparou-lhes alimento em abundância, pois devem comer os sacrifícios do Senhor, os quais deu a ele e à sua posteridade.	26 And now bless the LORD who has crowned you with glory! May he grant you wisdom of heart to govern his people in justice, Lest their welfare should ever be forgotten, or your authority, throughout all time.
27 Mas ele não tem herança na terra das nações, não tem porção entre seu povo, pois (o Senhor) mesmo é o quinhão de sua herança.
28 Finéias, filho de Eleazar, é o terceiro em glória. Ele imitou (Moisés) no temor do Senhor.
29 Permaneceu firme no meio da idolatria do povo; por sua bondade e o zelo de sua alma, apaziguou a ira de Deus contra Israel.
30 É por isso que Deus fez com ele uma aliança de paz, e deu-lhe o principado das coisas santas e do seu povo, a fim de que a ele e a seus descendentes pertencesse para sempre a dignidade sacerdotal.
