Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to all the saints who are at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 Paolo, apostolo di Gesù Cristo per volontà di Dio, ai santi che sono in Èfeso, credenti in Cristo Gesù:
2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 grazia a voi e pace da Dio, Padre nostro, e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, in Christ,	3 Benedetto sia Dio, Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, che ci ha benedetti con ogni benedizione spirituale nei cieli, in Cristo.
4 just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his sight, in charity.	4 In lui ci ha scelti prima della creazione del mondo, per essere santi e immacolati al suo cospetto nella carità,
5 He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will,	5 predestinandoci a essere suoi figli adottivi per opera di Gesù Cristo,
6 for the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.	6 secondo il beneplacito della sua volontà. E questo a lode e gloria della sua grazia, che ci ha dato nel suo Figlio diletto;
7 In him, we have redemption through his blood: the remission of sins in accord with the riches of his grace,	7 nel quale abbiamo la redenzione mediante il suo sangue, la remissione dei peccati secondo la ricchezza della sua grazia.
8 which is superabundant in us, with all wisdom and prudence.	8 Egli l'ha abbondantemente riversata su di noi con ogni sapienza e intelligenza,
9 So does he make known to us the mystery of his will, which he has set forth in Christ, in a manner well-pleasing to him,	9 poiché egli ci ha fatto conoscere il mistero della sua volontà, secondo quanto nella sua benevolenza aveva in lui prestabilito
10 in the dispensation of the fullness of time, so as to renew in Christ everything that exists through him in heaven and on earth.	10 per realizzarlo nella pienezza dei tempi: il disegno cioè di ricapitolare in Cristo tutte le cose, quelle del cielo come quelle della terra.
11 In him, we too are called to our portion, having been predestined in accord with the plan of the One who accomplishes all things by the counsel of his will.	11 In lui siamo stati fatti anche eredi, essendo stati predestinati secondo il piano di colui che tutto opera efficacemente conforme alla sua volontà,
12 So may we be, to the praise of his glory, we who have hoped beforehand in Christ.	12 perché noi fossimo a lode della sua gloria, noi, che per primi abbiamo sperato in Cristo.
13 In him, you also, after you heard and believed the Word of truth, which is the Gospel of your salvation, were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the Promise.	13 In lui anche voi, dopo aver ascoltato la parola della verità, il vangelo della vostra salvezza e avere in esso creduto, avete ricevuto il suggello dello Spirito Santo che era stato promesso,
14 He is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the acquisition of redemption, to the praise of his glory.	14 il quale è caparra della nostra eredità, in attesa della completa redenzione di coloro che Dio si è acquistato, a lode della sua gloria.
15 Because of this, and hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love toward all the saints,	15 Perciò anch'io, avendo avuto notizia della vostra fede nel Signore Gesù e dell'amore che avete verso tutti i santi,
16 I have not ceased giving thanks for you, calling you to mind in my prayers,	16 non cesso di render grazie per voi, ricordandovi nelle mie preghiere,
17 so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give a spirit of wisdom and of revelation to you, in knowledge of him.	17 perché il Dio del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il Padre della gloria, vi dia uno spirito di sapienza e di rivelazione per una più profonda conoscenza di lui.
18 May the eyes of your heart be illuminated, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and the wealth of the glory of his inheritance with the saints,	18 Possa egli davvero illuminare gli occhi della vostra mente per farvi comprendere a quale speranza vi ha chiamati, quale tesoro di gloria racchiude la sua eredità fra i santi
19 and the preeminent magnitude of his virtue toward us, toward we who believe in accord with the work of his powerful virtue,	19 e qual è la straordinaria grandezza della sua potenza verso di noi credenti secondo l'efficacia della sua forza
20 which he wrought in Christ, raising him from the dead and establishing him at his right hand in the heavens,	20 che egli manifestò in Cristo, quando lo risuscitò dai morti e lo fece sedere alla sua destra nei cieli,
21 above every principality and power and virtue and dominion, and above every name that is given, not only in this age, but even in the future age.	21 al di sopra di ogni principato e autorità, di ogni potenza e dominazione e di ogni altro nome che si possa nominare non solo nel secolo presente ma anche in quello futuro.
22 And he has subjected all things under his feet, and he has made him the head over the entire Church,	22 'Tutto infatti ha sottomesso ai suoi piedi' e lo ha costituito su tutte le cose a capo della Chiesa,
23 which is his body and which is the fullness of him who accomplishes everything in everyone.	23 la quale è il suo corpo, la pienezza di colui che si realizza interamente in tutte le cose.
