2 Corinthians 5

1 For we know that, when our earthly house of this habitation is dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.	1 Porque sabemos que si esta tienda, que es nuestra morada terrestre, se desmorona, tenemos un edificio que es de Dios: una morada eterna, no hecha por mano humana, que está en los cielos.
2 And for this reason also, we groan, desiring to be clothed from above with our habitation from heaven.	2 Y así gemimos en este estado, deseando ardientemente ser revestidos de nuestra habitación celeste,
3 If we are so clothed, then we will not be found to be naked.	3 si es que nos encontramos vestidos, y no desnudos.
4 Then too, we who are in this tabernacle groan under the burden, because we do not want to be stripped, but rather to be clothed from above, so that what is mortal may be absorbed by life.	4 ¡Sí!, los que estamos en esta tienda gemimos abrumados. No es que queramos ser devestidos, sino más bien sobrevestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.
5 Now the One who accomplishes this very thing in us is God, who has given us the pledge of the Spirit.	5 Y el que nos ha destinado a eso es Dios, el cual nos ha dado en arras el Espíritu.
6 Therefore, we are ever confident, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are on a pilgrimage in the Lord.	6 Así pues, siempre llenos de buen ánimo, sabiendo que, mientras habitamos en el cuerpo, vivimos lejos del Señor,
7 For we walk by means of faith, and not by sight.	7 pues caminamos en la fe y no en la visión...
8 So we are confident, and we have the good will to be on a pilgrimage in the body, so as to be present to the Lord.	8 Estamos, pues, llenos de buen ánimo y preferimos salir de este cuerpo para vivir con el Señor.
9 And thus we struggle, whether absent or present, to please him.	9 Por eso, bien en nuestro cuerpo, bien fuera de él, nos afanamos por agradarle.
10 For it is necessary for us to be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the proper things of the body, according to his behavior, whether it was good or evil.	10 Porque es necesario que todos nosotros seamos puestos al descubierto ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada cual reciba conforme a lo que hizo durante su vida mortal, el bien o el mal.
11 Therefore, having knowledge of the fear of the Lord, we appeal to men, but we are made manifest before God. Yet I hope, too, that we may be made manifest in your consciences.	11 Por tanto, conociendo el temor del Señor, tratamos de persuadir a los hombres, pues ante Dios estamos al descubierto, como espero que ante vuestras conciencias también estemos al descubierto.
12 We are not commending ourselves again to you, but rather we are presenting you with an opportunity to glory because of us, when you deal with those who glory in face, and not in heart.	12 No volvemos a recomendarnos ante vosotros; solamente queremos daros ocasión para gloriaros de nosotros y así tengáis cómo responder a los que se glorían de lo exterior, y no de lo que está en el corazón.
13 For if we are excessive in mind, it is for God; but if we are sober, it is for you.	13 En efecto, si hemos perdido el juicio, ha sido por Dios; y si somos sensatos, lo es por vosotros.
14 For the charity of Christ urges us on, in consideration of this: that if one died for all, then all have died.	14 Porque el amor de Cristo nos apremia al pensar que, si uno murió por todos, todos por tanto murieron.
15 And Christ died for all, so that even those who live might not now live for themselves, but for him who died for them and who rose again.	15 Y murió por todos, para que ya no vivan para sí los que viven, sino para aquel que murió y resucitó por ellos.
16 And so, from now on, we know no one according to the flesh. And though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him in this way no longer.	16 Así que, en adelante, ya no conocemos a nadie según la carne. Y si conocimos a Cristo según la carne, ya no le conocemos así.
17 So if anyone is a new creature in Christ, what is old has passed away. Behold, all things have been made new.	17 Por tanto, el que está en Cristo, es una nueva creación; pasó lo viejo, todo es nuevo.
18 But all is of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.	18 Y todo proviene de Dios, que nos reconcilió consigo por Cristo y nos confió el ministerio de la reconciliación.
19 For certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not charging them with their sins. And he has placed in us the Word of reconciliation.	19 Porque en Cristo estaba Dios reconciliando al mundo consigo, no tomando en cuenta las transgresiones de los hombres, sino poniendo en nosotros la palabra de la reconciliación.
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, so that God is exhorting through us. We beseech you for Christ: be reconciled to God.	20 Somos, pues, embajadores de Cristo, como si Dios exhortara por medio de nosotros. En nombre de Cristo os suplicamos: ¡reconciliaos con Dios!
21 For God made him who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the justice of God in him.	21 A quien no conoció pecado, le hizo pecado por nosotros, para que viniésemos a ser justicia de Dios en él.
