1 And after six days, Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and he led them onto a lofty mountain separately.	1 Six jours après, Jésus prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean son frère, et il les emmena à l’écart sur une haute montagne.
2 And he was transfigured before them. And his face shined brightly like the sun. And his garments were made white like snow.	2 Là, devant eux, il fut transfiguré. Son visage commença à rayonner comme le soleil pendant que ses vêtements devenaient blancs de lumière.
3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, speaking with him.	3 Puis ils virent Moïse et Élie qui parlaient avec Jésus.
4 And Peter responded by saying to Jesus: “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you are willing, let us make three tabernacles here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”	4 Pierre prit la parole pour dire à Jésus: "Seigneur, cela tombe bien que nous soyons ici. Si tu le veux je vais dresser ici trois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse et une pour Élie.”
5 And while he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud overshadowed them. And behold, there was a voice from the cloud, saying: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”	5 Il parlait encore lorsqu’une nuée lumineuse vint les recouvrir et du milieu de la nuée une voix dit: "Celui-ci est mon Fils, le Bien-Aimé, celui en qui je me complais, écoutez-le!”
6 And the disciples, hearing this, fell prone on their face, and they were very afraid.	6 En entendant cela, les disciples se jetèrent face contre terre et furent saisis d’une crainte extraordinaire.
7 And Jesus drew near and touched them. And he said to them, “Rise up and do not be afraid.”	7 Mais voici que Jésus s’approche et les touche. Il leur dit: "Levez-vous, n’ayez pas peur.”
8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.	8 Alors ils regardent: il n’y a plus personne, mais Jésus seul.
9 And as they were descending from the mountain, Jesus instructed them, saying, “Tell no one about the vision, until the Son of man has risen from the dead.”	9 Comme ils descendent de la montagne, Jésus leur donne cet ordre: "Vous ne parlerez de cette vision à personne, jusqu’au jour où le Fils de l’Homme se lèvera d’entre les morts.”
10 And his disciples questioned him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to arrive first?”	10 Les disciples lui demandent: "Pourquoi donc les maîtres de la Loi disent-ils qu’Élie doit venir d’abord?”
11 But in response, he said to them: “Elijah, indeed, shall arrive and restore all things.	11 Et Jésus leur répond: "Bien sûr, Élie doit venir et remettre tout en ordre…
12 But I say to you, that Elijah has already arrived, and they did not recognize him, but they did whatever they wanted to him. So also shall the Son of man suffer from them.”	12 Mais je vous dis qu’Élie est déjà venu et on ne l’a pas reconnu; au contraire ils lui ont fait tout ce qu’ils voulaient. Et ce sera pareil pour le Fils de l’Homme: il aura à souffrir d’eux.”
13 Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.	13 Alors les disciples comprirent que Jésus leur parlait de Jean-Baptiste.
14 And when he had arrived at the multitude, a man approached him, falling to his knees before him, saying: “Lord, take pity on my son, for he is an epileptic, and he suffers harm. For he frequently falls into fire, and often also into water.	14 Comme il retrouvait la foule, un homme s’approcha de lui et le supplia à genoux:
15 And I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to cure him.”	15 "Seigneur, aie pitié de mon fils. Il est épileptique et il est vraiment mal; il tombe souvent dans le feu et souvent dans l’eau.
16 Then Jesus responded by saying: “What an unbelieving and perverse generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him here to me.”	16 Je l’ai présenté à tes disciples, mais ils n’ont pas été capables de le guérir.”
17 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.	17 Jésus prend la parole: "Génération sans foi, égarée, jusqu’à quand serai-je avec vous? Jusqu’à quand devrai-je vous supporter? Amenez-le-moi ici.”
18 Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why were we unable to cast him out?”	18 Aussitôt Jésus lui parle et commande; le démon sort de l’enfant et dès ce moment le garçon est rétabli.
19 Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief. Amen I say to you, certainly, if you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you.	19 Un peu après, les disciples vinrent demander à Jésus en particulier: "Pourquoi n’avons-nous pas pu chasser ce démon?”
20 But this kind is not cast out, except through prayer and fasting.”	20 Et Jésus leur dit: "Parce que vous avez bien peu la foi. En vérité je vous le dis, si vous aviez la foi gros comme une graine de moutarde, vous diriez à cette montagne: Bouge d’ici et va là-bas! et elle se déplacerait. Rien ne vous serait impossible.
21 And when they were conversing together in Galilee, Jesus said to them: “The Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.	21 “Il n’y a que la prière et le jeûne pour chasser cette sorte de démon.”
22 And they will kill him, but he will rise again on the third day.” And they were extremely saddened.	22 Un jour qu’ils étaient réunis en Galilée, Jésus leur dit: "Le Fils de l’Homme doit être livré aux mains des hommes.
23 And when they had arrived at Capernaum, those who collected the half shekel approached Peter, and they said to him, “Doesn’t your Teacher pay the half shekel?”	23 Ils le tueront, mais le troisième jour il ressuscitera.” Et ils en étaient tout tristes.
24 He said, “Yes.” And when he had entered into the house, Jesus went before him, saying: “How does it seem to you, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive tribute or the census tax: from their own sons or from foreigners?”	24 Comme ils étaient entrés à Capharnaüm, les collecteurs de la taxe pour le Temple viennent trouver Pierre et lui disent: "Votre maître ne paie-t-il pas la taxe?”
25 And he said, “From foreigners.” Jesus said to him: “Then the sons are free.	25 Pierre répond: "Mais si!” Il rentre à la maison et voici que Jésus lui parle le premier: "Simon, quand les rois de ce monde mettent des taxes ou des impôts, qui les paie? Leurs fils ou ceux qui ne sont pas de la famille?”
26 But so that we may not become an obstacle to them: go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish that is brought up, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take it and give it to them, for me and for you.”	26 Il répond: "Ceux qui ne sont pas de la famille.” Alors Jésus lui dit: "Les fils ne paient donc pas.
	27 Mais n’allons pas les scandaliser. Va à la mer, jette l’hameçon et prends le premier poisson qui mord. Tu lui ouvriras la bouche et tu y trouveras une pièce qui fait le double. Tu la prendras et la leur donneras pour moi et pour toi.”
