Hosea 14

1 Let Samaria perish, because she has urged her God towards bitterness. Let them perish by the sword, let their little ones be thrown down, and let their pregnant women be cut in two.	1 Samarie paiera car elle s’est révoltée contre son Dieu; ils tomberont sous l’épée, leurs petits enfants seront écrasés et leurs femmes enceintes éventrées.
2 Israel, convert to the Lord your God. For you have been ruined by your own iniquity.	2 Reviens Israël vers Yahvé ton Dieu, c’est bien ta faute qui t’a fait trébucher.
3 Take these words with you and return to the Lord. And say to him, “Remove all iniquity and accept the good. And we will repay the calves of our lips.	3 Revenez à Yahvé; dites-lui donc ceci: “Enlève tout le péché et prends ce qui est bon, au lieu de taureaux ce sera l’offrande de louange.
4 Assur will not save us; we will not ride on horses. Neither will we say any more, ‘The works of our hands are our gods,’ for those that are in you will have mercy on the orphan.”	4 L’Assyrie ne nous sauvera pas, nous ne monterons plus sur des chevaux, nous ne dirons plus: “Notre Dieu” à du fabriqué; en toi seul l’orphelin trouve de la tendresse.”
5 I will heal their contrition; I will love them spontaneously. For my wrath has been turned away from them.	5 - Je guérirai leur infidélité, je les aimerai de tout mon cœur; déjà ma colère s’est détournée d’Israël.
6 I will be like the dew; Israel will spring forth like the lily, and his root will spread out like that of the cedars of Lebanon.	6 Je serai pour Israël comme la rosée; comme le lys il fleurira et poussera ses racines comme le peuplier:
7 His branches will advance, and his glory will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance will be like that of the cedars of Lebanon.	7 voyez comme s’étendent ses rejetons! Sa splendeur sera celle de l’olivier, et sa senteur celle du Liban.
8 They will be converted, sitting in his shadow. They will live on wheat, and they will grow like a vine. His memorial will be like the wine of the cedars of Lebanon.	8 Ils reviendront habiter à mon ombre, ils auront la vigueur des blés, ils fleuriront comme la vigne et seront fameux comme le vin du Liban.
9 Ephraim will say, “What are idols to me any more?” I will listen to him, and I will set him straight like a healthy spruce tree. Your fruit has been found by me.	9 Éphraïm n’a plus rien à faire avec les idoles, je l’écoute et je le regarde, moi qui suis comme un cyprès verdoyant: c’est de moi que viennent tes fruits.
10 Who is wise and will understand this? Who has understanding and will know these things? For the ways of the Lord are straight, and the just will walk in them, but truly, the traitors will fall in them.	10 Si quelqu’un est sage, qu’il comprenne; s’il est intelligent, qu’il en ait la connaissance. Car les voies de Yahvé sont droites; les justes y font leur chemin, mais les rebelles y courent à la chute.
