Ezekiel 37

1 The hand of the Lord was set upon me, and he led me away in the Spirit of the Lord, and he released me in the midst of a plain which was full of bones.	1 La main de Yahvé fut sur moi. Yahvé me fit sortir par son esprit. Il me déposa au milieu de la vallée, et voici qu’elle était pleine d’ossements.
2 And he led me around, through them, on every side. Now they were very many upon the face of the plain, and they were exceedingly dry.	2 Il me fit parcourir la vallée en tout sens; les ossements étaient très nombreux à la surface du sol, et ils étaient complètement secs.
3 And he said to me, “Son of man, do you think that these bones will live?” And I said, “O Lord God, you know.”	3 Alors il me dit: “Fils d’homme, ces ossements pourront-ils revivre?” Je répondis: “Yahvé, c’est toi qui le sais.”
4 And he said to me, “Prophesy about these bones. And you shall say to them: Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!	4 Il me dit: “Prophétise sur ces ossements, tu leur diras: Ossements desséchés, écoutez la parole de Yahvé!
5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live.	5 Voici ce que dit Yahvé à ces ossements: Je vais faire qu’un esprit entre en vous, et vous vivrez.
6 And I will set sinews upon you, and I will cause flesh to grow over you, and I will extend skin over you. And I will give you spirit, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”	6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je ferai pousser sur vous la chair, j’étendrai sur vous la peau, je mettrai en vous un esprit et vous vivrez: et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.”
7 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. But a noise occurred, as I was prophesying, and behold: a commotion. And the bones joined together, each one at its joint.	7 Je fis donc comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre et, tandis que je prophétisais, il y eut toute une agitation: les os se rapprochaient les uns des autres.
8 And I saw, and behold: sinews and flesh rose up over them; and skin was extended over them. But they had no spirit within them.	8 Je regardai: je les vis se couvrir de nerfs, la chair repoussait et la peau se tendait par-dessus. Mais il n’y avait pas d’esprit en eux.
9 And he said to me: “Prophesy to the spirit! Prophesy, O son of man, and you shall say to the spirit: Thus says the Lord God: Approach, O spirit, from the four winds, and blow across these ones who were slain, and revive them.”	9 Alors il me dit: “Prophétise, fils d’homme, appelle l’Esprit! Tu diras à l’Esprit: Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Esprit, viens des quatre vents, souffle sur ces morts afin qu’ils vivent.”
10 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. And spirit entered into them, and they lived. And they stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.	10 Je prophétisai comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre et l’Esprit entra en eux; ils reprirent vie et se dressèrent sur leurs pieds: c’était une grande, une immense armée.
11 And he said to me: “Son of man: All these bones are the house of Israel. They say: ‘Our bones are dried out, and our hope has perished, and we have been cut off.’	11 Yahvé me dit alors: “Fils d’homme, ces ossements, c’est toute la maison d’Israël. Ils disent: ‘Nos os sont desséchés, nos espoirs sont morts, nous avons été rejetés.’
12 Because of this, prophesy, and you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your tombs, and I will lead you away from your sepulchers, O my people. And I will lead you into the land of Israel.	12 C’est pourquoi prophétise! Tu leur diras cette parole de Yahvé: “Je vais ouvrir vos tombes, ô mon peuple, je vous ferai remonter de vos tombes et je vous ramènerai sur la terre d’Israël.
13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have opened your sepulchers, and when I will have led you away from your tombs, O my people.	13 Alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé lorsque j’ouvrirai vos tombes, que je vous en ferai remonter.
14 And I will place my Spirit within you, and you shall live. And I will cause you to rest upon your own soil. And you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and acted, says the Lord God.”	14 Je mettrai en vous mon Esprit et vous vivrez; je vous établirai sur votre terre et vous saurez que moi, Yahvé, je dis et je fais - parole de Yahvé.”
15 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	15 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
16 “And as for you, son of man, take up a piece of wood for yourself, and write upon it: ‘For Judah, and for the sons of Israel, his companions.’ And take up another piece of wood, and write upon it: ‘For Joseph, the wood of Ephraim, and for the entire house of Israel, and for his companions.’	16 Fils d’homme, prends un morceau de bois sur lequel tu écriras: “À Juda et aux enfants d’Israël qui lui sont réunis.” Tu prendras ensuite un autre morceau de bois et tu écriras dessus: “À Joseph.” Ce sera le bois (d’Éphraïm et) de toute la maison d’Israël qui lui est réunie.
17 And join these, one to the other, for yourself, as one piece of wood. And they will be united in your hand.	17 Puis tu les rapprocheras l’un de l’autre pour qu’ils soient dans ta main comme d’une seule pièce.
18 Then, when the sons of your people will speak to you, saying: ‘Will you not tell us what you intend by this?’	18 Lorsque les enfants de ton peuple te diront: “Vas-tu nous expliquer ce que cela signifie?”
19 you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the wood of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, which are joined to him, and I will put them together with the wood of Judah, and I will make them one piece of wood. And they will be one in his hand.	19 tu leur répondras: “Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je m’apprête à prendre le bois de Joseph avec les tribus d’Israël qui lui sont réunies; je les joindrai au bois de Juda et ils n’en feront plus qu’un dans ma main.”
20 Then the pieces of wood, on which you have written, will be in your hand, before their eyes.	20 Tu tiendras dans ta main sous leurs yeux les morceaux de bois sur lesquels tu auras écrit,
21 And you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the sons of Israel, from the midst of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them together on every side, and I will lead them onto their own soil.	21 et tu leur diras de la part de Yahvé: Je vais reprendre les enfants d’Israël du milieu des nations où ils sont allés, je les rassemblerai de toutes parts et les réunirai sur leur terre.
22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will be ruler over all. And they will no longer be two nations, nor will they be divided any more into two kingdoms.	22 Je ferai d’eux une seule nation dans mon pays sur les montagnes d’Israël; un roi unique régnera sur eux tous, ils ne seront plus deux nations, ils ne seront plus séparés en deux royaumes.
23 And they will no longer be defiled by their idols, and by their abominations, and by all their iniquities. And I will save them, out of all the settlements in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they will be my people, and I will be their God.	23 Ils ne se souilleront plus avec leurs sales idoles, car je les délivrerai de leurs péchés et de toutes leurs révoltes et je les purifierai; ils seront mon peuple et je serai leur Dieu.
24 And my servant David shall be the king over them, and they shall have one shepherd. They shall walk in my judgments, and they shall keep my commandments, and they shall do them.	24 Mon serviteur David régnera sur eux, il n’auront tous qu’un seul berger. Alors ils marcheront selon mes commandements, ils observeront mes lois et les mettront en pratique.
25 And they shall live upon the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived. And they shall live upon it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, even for all time. And David, my servant, shall be their leader, in perpetuity.	25 Ils habiteront sur la terre que j’ai donnée à mon serviteur Jacob, cette terre où ils ont habité. Ils y habiteront pour toujours, eux et leurs fils et les fils de leurs fils; mon serviteur David sera leur prince à jamais.
26 And I will strike a covenant of peace with them. This will be an everlasting covenant for them. And I will establish them, and multiply them. And I will set my sanctuary in their midst, unceasingly.	26 Je leur accorderai une alliance de paix, une alliance avec moi pour toujours; je placerai mon sanctuaire au milieu d’eux pour toujours.
27 And my tabernacle shall be among them. And I will be their God, and they will be my people.	27 Ma Demeure restera au-dessus d’eux, je serai leur Dieu et ils seront mon peuple.
28 And the Gentiles shall know that I am the Lord, the Sanctifier of Israel, when my sanctuary will be in their midst, forever.”	28 Les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé qui sanctifie Israël lorsque mon sanctuaire sera au milieu d’eux pour toujours.
