Ezekiel 28

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 “Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, ‘I am God, and I sit in the chair of God, in the heart of the sea,’ though you are a man, and not God, and because you have presented your heart as if it were the heart of God:	2 «Figlio dell’uomo, parla al principe di Tiro: Così dice il Signore Dio: Poiché il tuo cuore si è insuperbito e hai detto: “Io sono un dio, siedo su un trono divino in mezzo ai mari”, mentre tu sei un uomo e non un dio, hai reso il tuo cuore come quello di Dio,
3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is concealed from you.	3 ecco, tu sei più saggio di Daniele, nessun segreto ti è nascosto.
4 By your wisdom and prudence, you have made yourself strong, and you have acquired gold and silver for your storehouses.	4 Con la tua saggezza e la tua intelligenza hai creato la tua potenza e ammassato oro e argento nei tuoi scrigni;
5 By the multitude of your wisdom, and by your business dealings, you have multiplied strength for yourself. And your heart has been exalted by your strength.	5 con la tua grande sapienza e i tuoi traffici hai accresciuto le tue ricchezze e per le tue ricchezze si è inorgoglito il tuo cuore.
6 Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because your heart has been exalted as if it were the heart of God,	6 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Poiché hai reso il tuo cuore come quello di Dio,
7 for this reason, behold, I will lead over you foreigners, the most robust among the Gentiles. And they will bare their swords over the beauty of your wisdom, and they will defile your beauty.	7 ecco, io manderò contro di te i più feroci popoli stranieri; snuderanno le spade contro la tua bella saggezza, profaneranno il tuo splendore.
8 They will destroy you and pull you down. And you will die the death of those slain in the heart of the sea.	8 Ti precipiteranno nella fossa e morirai della morte degli uccisi in mare.
9 So then, will you speak, in the presence of those who are destroying you, before the hand of those who are killing you, saying, ‘I am God,’ though you are a man, and not God?	9 Ripeterai ancora: “Io sono un dio”, di fronte ai tuoi uccisori? Ma sei un uomo e non un dio, in balìa di chi ti uccide.
10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised at the hand of foreigners. For I have spoken, says the Lord God.”	10 Per mano di stranieri morirai della morte dei non circoncisi, perché io ho parlato». Oracolo del Signore Dio.
11 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre,	11 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
12 and you shall say to him: Thus says the Lord God: You were the seal of similitudes, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.	12 «Figlio dell’uomo, intona un lamento sul principe di Tiro e digli: Così dice il Signore Dio: Tu eri un modello di perfezione, pieno di sapienza, perfetto in bellezza;
13 You were with the delights of the Paradise of God. Every precious stone was your covering: sardius, topaz, and jasper, chrysolite, and onyx, and beryl, sapphire, and garnet, and emerald. The work of your beauty was of gold, and your fissures were ready in the day when you were formed.	13 in Eden, giardino di Dio, tu eri coperto d’ogni pietra preziosa: rubini, topazi, diamanti, crisòliti, ònici e diaspri, zaffìri, turchesi e smeraldi; e d’oro era il lavoro dei tuoi castoni e delle tue legature, preparato nel giorno in cui fosti creato.
14 You were a cherub, stretched out and protecting, and I stationed you on the holy mountain of God. You have walked in the midst of stones containing fire.	14 Eri come un cherubino protettore, ad ali spiegate; io ti posi sul monte santo di Dio e camminavi in mezzo a pietre di fuoco.
15 You were perfect in your ways, from the day of your formation, until iniquity was found in you.	15 Perfetto tu eri nella tua condotta, da quando sei stato creato, finché fu trovata in te l’iniquità.
16 By the multitude of your business dealings, your interior was filled with iniquity, and you sinned. And I cast you away from the mountain of God, and I perished you, O protecting cherub, from the midst of the stones containing fire.	16 Accrescendo i tuoi commerci ti sei riempito di violenza e di peccati; io ti ho scacciato dal monte di Dio e ti ho fatto perire, o cherubino protettore, in mezzo alle pietre di fuoco.
17 And your heart was exalted by your beauty; you have destroyed your own wisdom by your beauty. I have cast you to the ground. I have presented you before the face of kings, so that they may examine you.	17 Il tuo cuore si era inorgoglito per la tua bellezza, la tua saggezza si era corrotta a causa del tuo splendore: ti ho gettato a terra e ti ho posto davanti ai re, perché ti vedano.
18 You have defiled your sanctuaries, by the multitude of your iniquities and by the iniquity of your business dealings. Therefore, I will produce a fire from your midst, which will consume you, and I will make you into ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all who are watching you.	18 Con la gravità dei tuoi delitti, con la disonestà del tuo commercio hai profanato i tuoi santuari; perciò in mezzo a te ho fatto sprigionare un fuoco per divorarti. Ti ho ridotto in cenere sulla terra, sotto gli occhi di quanti ti guardano.
19 All who gaze upon you among the Gentiles will be stupefied over you. You were made out of nothing, and you shall not be, forever.”	19 Quanti fra i popoli ti hanno conosciuto, sono rimasti attoniti per te, sei divenuto oggetto di terrore, finito per sempre».
20 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	20 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
21 “Son of man, set your face against Sidon, and you shall prophesy about it.	21 «Figlio dell’uomo, volgiti verso Sidone e profetizza contro di essa:
22 And you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Sidon, and I will be glorified in your midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have executed judgments in her, and when I will have been sanctified in her.	22 Annunciale: Così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro di te, Sidone, e mostrerò la mia gloria in mezzo a te. Si saprà che io sono il Signore quando di essa farò giustizia e manifesterò in essa la mia santità.
23 And I will send a pestilence upon her, and there will be blood in her streets. And they will fall, slain by the sword, on every side in her midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord.	23 Manderò contro di essa la peste e il sangue scorrerà per le sue vie: in essa cadranno i trafitti di spada, e questa da ogni parte la circonderà, e sapranno che io sono il Signore Dio.
24 And the house of Israel will no longer be a stumbling block of bitterness, nor a thorn bringing pain everywhere around them, to those who turn against them. And they shall know that I am the Lord God.”	24 Non ci sarà più per la casa d’Israele un aculeo pungente, una spina dolorosa tra tutti i suoi vicini che la disprezzano: sapranno che io sono il Signore.
25 Thus says the Lord God: “When I will have gathered together the house of Israel, from the peoples among whom they have been dispersed, I shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the Gentiles. And they shall live in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.	25 Così dice il Signore Dio: Quando avrò radunato la casa d’Israele dai popoli in mezzo ai quali è dispersa, io manifesterò in loro la mia santità davanti alle nazioni: abiteranno la loro terra che diedi al mio servo Giacobbe,
26 And they shall live within it securely. And they shall build houses and plant vineyards. And they shall live in confidence, when I will have executed judgments upon all those who turn against them on every side. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God.”	26 vi abiteranno tranquilli, costruiranno case e pianteranno vigne; vi abiteranno tranquilli, quando avrò eseguito i miei giudizi su tutti coloro che intorno li disprezzano, e sapranno che io sono il Signore, loro Dio».
