Isaiah 57

1 The just man perishes, and there is no one who acknowledges it in his heart; and men of mercy are taken away, for there is no one who understands. For the just man has been taken away before the face of malice.	1 Le juste périt et personne ne s'en inquiète, les hommes pieux sont moissonnés et nul n'y prend garde;oui, à cause de la perversité le juste a été moissonné;
2 Let peace arrive. Let he who has walked in his righteousness find rest on his bed.	2 il entrera dans la paix, et ceux qui suivent le droit chemin trouveront le repos sur leur couche.
3 But come here, you sons of the prophetess, you offspring of an adulterous man and a fornicating woman.	3 Quant à vous, approchez ici, fils de la magicienne, race adultère qui t'es prostituée.
4 Whom are you mocking? Against whom have you opened your mouth wide and wagged your tongue? Are you not sons of wickedness, a lying offspring,	4 De qui vous moquez-vous? A qui faites-vous des grimaces et tirez-vous la langue? N'êtes-vous pasune engeance de révolte, une race de mensonge?
5 who are being consoled by idols under every leafy tree, immolating little children at the torrents, under the high rocks?	5 Vous qui vous excitez près des térébinthes, sous tout arbre verdoyant, qui immolez des enfants dansles torrents, sous les fissures des rochers.
6 Your portion is in the currents of the torrent; this is your lot! And you yourselves have poured out libations to them; you have offered sacrifice. Should I not be angry over these things?	6 Les pierres polies du torrent, voilà ton partage, ce sont elles, elles qui sont ton lot. C'est pour elles quetu as répandu des libations, que tu as présenté ton offrande. Puis-je y trouver l'apaisement?
7 Upon a high and lofty mountain, you have placed your bed, and you have ascended to that place to immolate victims.	7 Sur une grande et haute montagne tu as installé ta couche. C'est là aussi que tu es montée pour offrirle sacrifice.
8 And behind the door, and beyond the post, you have set up your memorial. For you uncovered yourself next to me, and you received an adulterer. You widened your bed, and you formed a pact with them. You loved their bed with an open hand.	8 Derrière la porte et le montant tu as fixé ton mémorial. Oui, loin de moi tu t'es découverte, tu esmontée sur ta couche, tu en as profité largement. Tu as pactisé à ton profit avec ceux dont tu aimes la couche,tout en contemplant le monument.
9 And you have adorned yourself for the king with ointments, and you have increased your cosmetics. You have sent your representatives to distant places, and you have debased yourself all the way to Hell.	9 Tu t'es approchée de Mèlek avec des présents d'huile, tu as prodigué les parfums; tu as envoyé au lointes messagers, tu les as fait descendre jusqu'au shéol.
10 You have been wearied by the multitude of your own ways. Yet you did not say, “I will cease.” You have found life by your own hand; because of this, you have not prayed.	10 A faire tant de chemin tu t'es fatiguée, mais tu n'as pas dit: "C'est décourageant!" Tu as retrouvé lavigueur de ta main, c'est pourquoi tu n'as pas faibli.
11 For whose sake have you been anxiously afraid, so that you would lie and not be mindful of me, nor consider me in your heart? For I am silent, and I am like someone who does not see, and so you have forgotten me.	11 Qui as-tu craint et redouté, pour mentir et ne plus te souvenir de moi, pour ne plus te soucier de moi?N'étais-je pas silencieux et depuis longtemps? Aussi tu ne me craignais pas.
12 I will announce your justice, and your works will not benefit you.	12 Mais je vais annoncer ta justice et tes oeuvres, dont tu ne tirais aucun profit.
13 When you cry out, let your followers free you. But the wind will carry them all away; a breeze will take them up. But he who has faith in me will inherit the earth and will possess my holy mountain.	13 Tu vas crier, qu'ils te délivrent, ceux qui se serrent autour de toi! Eux tous, le vent va les enlever, unsouffle les emporter, mais quiconque se confie en moi héritera du pays, il possédera ma montagne sainte.
14 And I will say: “Make way! Grant passage! Move to the side of the path! Take the obstacles out of the way of my people!”	14 Et l'on dira: Nivelez, nivelez, frayez un chemin, ôtez l'obstacle du chemin de mon peuple,
15 For this is said by the Most High, the Sublime One, who dwells in eternity. And his name is Holy, for he dwells in the exalted and holy place, and he acts with a restrained and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.	15 car ainsi parle celui qui est haut et élevé, dont la demeure est éternelle et dont le nom est saint. "Jesuis haut et saint dans ma demeure, mais je suis avec l'homme contrit et humilié, pour ranimer les espritshumiliés, pour ranimer les coeurs contrits.
16 For I will not contend unceasingly, and I will not be angry to the end. For I will exhale my breath, and the Spirit will go forth from my face.	16 Car je ne veux pas accuser sans cesse ni toujours me montrer irrité, car devant moi faiblirait l'espritet ces âmes que j'ai créées.
17 Because of the iniquity of his avarice, I was angry, and I struck him down. I concealed my face from you, and I was angry. And he went astray by wandering in his heart.	17 Contre sa criminelle cupidité j'ai été irrité, en me cachant je l'ai frappé, dans mon irritation; et il s'enest allé, rebelle, selon sa fantaisie.
18 I saw his ways, and I healed him, and I led him back again, and I restored consolations to him and to those who mourn for him.	18 J'ai vu sa conduite, mais je le guérirai, je le conduirai, je lui prodiguerai le réconfort, à lui et à ceuxqui sont dans le deuil,
19 I created the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him who is far away, and peace to him who is near, said the Lord, and I healed him.	19 faisant naître la louange sur leurs lèvres: "Paix! paix à qui est loin et à qui est proche, dit Yahvé, et jele guérirai."
20 But the impious are like the raging sea, which is not able to be quieted, and its waves stir up dirt and mud.	20 Mais les méchants sont comme la mer agitée qui ne peut se calmer, dont les eaux soulèvent la boueet la fange.
21 There is no peace for the impious, says the Lord God.	21 "Point de paix, dit Yahvé, pour les méchants."
